I really waited a few months to write this review just to snap back to reality and actually think about what I wanted to write since becoming a client of this prestigious law firm. If there was a 10 star button I would select it in a blink of an eye. This law firm is nothing short of what it represents "Proper Defense"!!! I came to Sally when she was fresh on her own 6 years ago and man let me tell you that odds were against me and Sally always stayed profession and keep it real told me how it was and what needed to be done. Not once did Sally sugarcoat or attempt to deceive me most in society would. She is very professional and knows what she is talking about and Sally does not play around either. She comes off as a very understanding individual and actually cares about her clients and what truly happens it not about the money for Sally but the name that she stands on. Working with the law office of Cecelia Soboleski has been one of the best decisions I have ever made since my divorce process started.
I say this because despite the distance and time difference, I currently live here in the Philippines, we were able to communicate well. She manage to discuss the plans and educate me about the case thru zoom meetings and email. She gives you insight but she let’s you decide on everything. Zoom meetings were arrange so that it would both fit into our schedule. She would definitely reply to questions and clarification thru email.

I searched all of the greater Sacramento area to find the best lawyer I could to represent me in my DUI case. I met with 10 different firms before meeting with Mr.Runkle. Many of the firms I met with had me speak to a Para legal who would then pass me off to a lawyer of their choosing from their firm who would then be my representative. When I met with Mr.Runkle I knew almost immediately that this was going to be my lawyer of choice. He attacked my case from every angle possible even though I didn't give him much to work with based on the facts of my case. I do not believe anybody else in the county could have gotten me a deal even close to what Mr.Runkle achieved for me. If I ever have legal trouble in the future I will definitely be contacting him. I retained the legal services of Robert Phan of Garcia and Phan for representation in two legal matters, engaging his services based on a personal referral and his claims of 20+ years of legal experience.
Specific Concerns with Legal Representation
1. Court Appearances and Professional Negligence
During the course of representation, I received multiple court notices indicating warrants for my arrest due to alleged failure to appear. Upon investigation, these warrants were a direct result of Mr. Phan's repeated failure to appear in court, despite assurances that he would handle all court dates on my behalf.
2. Ineffective Case Management
Contrary to initial confidence, Mr. Phan did not pursue optimal case resolution strategies:
*He prioritized "keeping me out of jail" over potentially dismissing cases
*Suggested proceeding to trial, explicitly noting increased expenses
*Indicated need to bring in additional counsel, suggesting inadequate expertise for the cases
3. Incomplete Case Review and Discovery
Critical issues were identified regarding case preparation:
*Mr. Phan requested I recall specific case dates, despite having this information in police reports
*Failed to thoroughly review discovery documents
*Claimed to have lost discovery materials for one of my cases
4. Missed Legal Opportunities
An independent attorney confirmed that one case potentially qualified for dismissal due to expired statute of limitations - an avenue Mr. Phan failed to explore.

My wife and I recently started the process of forming a nonprofit, but we didn’t know of any lawyers who could help us set up the organization. We found Michael through an inquiry on UpCounsel; we picked him because he seemed very knowledgeable about the process, he responded to us promptly, and his quote was fair and reasonable.
Michael walked us through all the steps we would need to complete, explaining what parts he would take care of and what we would need to do. My mom set up a trust 20 years ago when she was a single mom with 3 kids and absolutely no time. When I sat down with her recently to review her estate plan, she was shocked to find the trust was not set up at all the way she thought she'd instructed the lawyers to do it. She wasn't even sure what law firm had originally set it up because there hadn't been any follow up from them in all that time. She also had only partially funded it and most of her assets were not in the trust's name.
I was very happy to find Meier Law to help her restate the trust and get her full estate plan in order. They walked us through every step and helped her feel confident in the plan and how things would be set up to achieve her goals. They also provided detailed instructions on funding the trust and have a plan to check in every few years to see if any updates are needed.
Meier Law is probably not the cheapest option out there, but an estate plan is worthless if it isn't actually set up and funded correctly. So personally I think their prices are a bargain for the level of support we're receiving and the peace of mind to have this all in capable hands.
