I saw a comment from Greg Smith about Abraham Watkins taking 40% and fees. There was a reply stating they don't from the law firm but I can attest to them taking 40% as a client and I saw under 5k from my 10k settlement. The firm hasn't been hard to deal with and they are rather good lawyers aside from the excessive fees. My only issue is them lying in the responses because I definitely was charged 40% in fees and saw under 5k. I also had to beg them just to file my claim for EIF when other law firms had filed claims for veterans with much less proof. I do feel defeated when it comes to how they're handling us but it's nothing new.

I would choose another firm if I had to handle my probate matter again. The firm’s accountant failed to send invoices for nearly three months worth of work, leading me to receive a surprise notice that I would need to re-up the full retainer within a week or have my case deprioritized. Receipt of invoices via the firm’s web portal was guaranteed in initial consultation to prevent against this very circumstance. The overall experience was highly unprofessional and adversarial — two things you never want in your advisor. I had a mind to file a formal grievance, but hopefully the firm takes this criticism constructively to improve the quality of its operations for other clients.

I hate to leave negative reviews but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had with an attorney or business in recent memory. Terrible service and no sense of care or urgency. No one responds to emails and there is no accountability. They act very professional to get your retainer and then you’re up a creek without a paddle. After finally cancelling services it took over 6 weeks of pestering them to get our remaining 1800 retainer back. Please look elsewhere for a good experience.

I highly recommend Mr Arthur White. I got into some legal trouble & felt I was wrongfully handled, searched & arrested by the police, which turned into a Felony charge. I hired Mr Arthur & I got to say I'm more then pleased. The police seemed to be hiding the video evidence because every time we went to court, they would release a different video of someone else, which would cause us to reset the court dates. Needless to say, 8 months later, he got my case dismissed even tho the court did not want to, he to get a lil feisty with them & finally got it done. So again, highly recommend him, he was professional & gets everything that needs to be taken care of, taken care of.

I made a typo on the request about the accident date but we got it resolved quickly, and I think it irritated her or something, then she ended up talking down to me like I was really stupid about my situation, and she continued to do that the whole conversation on the phone (at the end of all berating statements, she always said "I understand your situation completely" but the berate continued regardless, very passive aggressive behavior indeed). In the end, she notified me that the firm wouldn't take my case and gave me a phone number for referral services. I'd really appreciate it if she took the time to explain the explanation with a different tone of voice and manner, but in this case, thanks but no thanks, the way she talked to me made me feel like I'm stupid and unable to comprehend the information she delivered.
