Luke Wallace is an amazing attorney. His expertise, professionalism, calmness under pressure, and genuine kindness and compassion were invaluable to me when unfortunate circumstances compelled me to seek a custody modification. I needed an attorney who would be prepared to fight for the best possible outcome for my children, and Luke was able to help ensure that they will have a much better chance of thriving now and in the future. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
I initially began the process with a different firm. After many months, various factors made it clear that I would need new representation. Calling Walters and Gilbreath for guidance was the best decision that I could have made. I’m on a limited budget but I would have ultimately saved money by just calling them to begin with. You get what you pay for and I’m grateful they were able to work with me to make it manageable.

Logan Kilgore joined our team towards the end of multi-year custody case and brought a refreshing positivity in an otherwise draining situation. Logan swiftly appraised herself of the case and I immediately felt secure not only with her professionalism but more significantly in her level of care. Throughout the case Logan listened to my concerns, stayed focused on the child’s best interests, and used all resources available to accurately convey those concerns during a temporary order hearing and during a week-long jury trial. At trial, I was humbled by Logan’s ability to manage exhibits, coordinate and examine witnesses, and communicate with all involved parties. Further, she was able to accurately recall specific details of the case and then pull factual evidence from the exhibits to directly disprove statements made by witnesses or opposing counsel in a manner that still conveyed empathy to the other parent. Logan’s extensive preparation and emotional intelligence during delivery were instrumental in this case and I consider myself incredibly blessed to have worked with Logan and Walters-Gilbreath, PLLC.

I work on Family Law cases as a mental health expert. JoAl Sheridan is one of the best attorneys in Travis and Williamson counties. When my clients ask me for referrals, her name is on my "top five list". She is dedicated to her clients. She takes their concerns to heart and conscientiously advocates for them and their children. She does not unnecessarily take issues into the courtroom, but is not afraid to enter that realm if the case warrants such action.

Travis Granger
If you want someone to truly represent you and fight for you, DON’T CHOOSE TRAVIS. Travis is a nice man and does a fine job fighting for you as long as there is no opposition. My ex-wife completely dominated the court process, using her knowledge of the judicial system, and how to manipulate it for her benefit and invoked delay after delay. Travis did nothing to counter. Proceeding started in Nov-2022, with a divorce decree granted to me by Judge Joe Pool on January 8, 2024. However, my ex-wife’s attorney filed for a new trial in March-2024. Travis was totally unprepared. I believed he thought that my ex-wife would be a no-show, just like on January 8th, when she was a no-show. When she showed up with her attorney, he was caught flat footed and failed to present my case properly to the judge, and the Judge Pool granted a new trial.
New mediation was set for June 17, 2024. The first thing Travis told me at mediation was that I may need to get a new attorney because his firm, Brandon Bledsoe, was being bought by another firm, Smith Family Law, and they would not be dealing with Hayes County. It went downhill from there. Travis had no motivation or desire to really represent me or fight for me, and in my opinion, he threw me under the bus just to get rid of me and be done with it. I was an embarrassment to him after he failed to present my case properly to Judge Pool, and the judge granted a new trial to my ex-wife.
There was no middle ground in the mediation and I kept telling Travis to just set a trial date. They did not listen to me and continued for another eight hours. After eight hours, even though I kept telling him to just set a trial date, I was tired and wore down, and they told me to just sign this agreement and then I would never have to deal with her again. It was a bad, bad settlement, completely lopsided and unfair, but Travis wanted to wash his hands and be done with me. He didn’t care as long as I was gone.
If you are looking for an attorney who truly cares about your case and is truly willing to fight for you, I would NOT RECOMMEND TRAVIS GRANGER, even though he is now at his new law firm, Smith Family Law.

Kevin's reviews speak for themselves. I had a possession case and an unlawful carry of a firearm that was over two years old and it had already been dismissed once and then been reopened another year later so it really threw me for a surprise I didn't know what to do my life depended on not having the consequences of those since my life had dramatically changed for the better. I did a little research looked up different attorneys in the area and when I seen Kevin's reviews I knew I had to call him. The whole process was super easy and my cases got dismissed I didn't have to do anything but work hard and make sure I paid Kevin. Luckily I had a good month and it was easy for me but for other people you can't put a price on your freedom and Kevin knows that and he will work with you. If you are looking for a criminal defense attorney… look no further. Kevin is extremely professional, thorough, and responsive. He alleviated alot of mental stress throughout the process of my case (misdemeanor criminal mischief), which ultimately got dismissed. His consultation is very straightforward and informative and his communication is excellent. He put together a great plan for me to execute prior to my initial court date and I only had to appear in court once out of 4 total court days. Even with video evidence, a police report, an arrest, a criminal background and an angry plaintiff stacking against me… Kevin pushed and with restitution paid, he got the case dismissed. I’m very thankful and I highly recommend Mr. Kevin Bennett. I have a daughter due in January and with this case behind me… I feel so much better.

I felt that Lisa always was there for me and she was calm and in control which helped me a lot. She was also very experienced working with lawyers on the other side and different mediators too and that gave me confidence also. There was plenty of drama and twists and turns and Lisa kept us in control and moving forward. She also understood my priorities (kids) and focus and never lost sight of that. Lisa had strong co-workers too which made me feel like we were a team. In the end she was able to make sure the settlement was relatively fair and reasonable and she was able to get it done as efficiently as could be hoped for. INCREDIBLE! There are not enough stars available for Scott in this review option! Scott has been incredible throughout the entirety of an extremely difficult and lengthy family court trial. He is brilliant and dedicated and tough, all while remaining cool and professional, but very clearly stating the issues in my case. He has been steadfast and tough-as-nails, while, all at the same time, sensitive to my family’s and my most emotionally difficult times. I consulted with and then hired Michele Locke in September 2020. She is the 4th attorney I have worked with since 2013. I wish I had met her 8 years ago. Having been and still presiding as a Judge, Michele brings a unique perspective that most attorneys cannot provide. She is direct, succinct and concise in her delivery in the court room which makes her a force to be reckoned with. And when you hire Michele, you are not hiring JUST Michele...you are also gaining the knowledge and capabilities of her amazing paralegal, Juan Diaz. The two of them make THE MOST PERFECT TEAM! I read so many reviews before I hired Ms. Locke and so many referred to Juan and how integral he is to the process. I had NO IDEA how spot on those reviews were until I hired Michele. I hired Michele to defend me in a VERY high conflict custody modification lawsuit brought against me by my NAPD ex-husband. I sought the counsel of Carlos Salinas for an order of protection from my husband after a very terrifying situation. Mary Louise Phelps surpassed any expectations I had for my divorce attorney.
