We used grant as our attorney in a child support modification case. He was completely dedicated to detail in his work for us, all while letting us be in charge of what we wanted. I don't even know where to start I have so much good to say about my experience working with Grant.
I was originally divorced in 2014 and have had 11 legal proceedings since the divorce. Attack after attack after attack from my ex. She had unlimited resources through her mom and used financial extortion tactics by hiring attorneys that could stage a better "performance" in court than the ones I had hired. Facts be damned I was punished over and over. It was disheartening because my kids were affected by all of this insanity and eventually pulled away from her and lived with me full time. They were 14 when this first started happening, and despite me having these kids full time she continued to attack me legally asserting that I had poisoned their relationship with her and alienated them from her. She knew because of the financial destruction she had caused me that I did not have the resources she did and wielded that as a weapon again and again.
When I finally had an option to fight back I was referred to Grant by a friend. HE WAS SUCH A BREATH OF FRESH AIR from the other attorneys I had worked with. It is obvious he loves what he does, he is enthusiastic, he genuinely cares about his clients, and he is a BULLDOG in the courtroom! A respectful but firm and incredibly detail oriented cross-examination of my ex completely unraveled her and created the opening I needed to get a Motion To Confer allowed by the judge for my kids. Grant, unlike the other attorneys I had in the past, fully embraced this option and pushed for it hard. The judge allowed the kids to visit privately with him, and after more than an hour with each kid exactly what I had wished for years happened. I was vindicated and the judge shut down every angle that my ex was using to come after me yet again a full 4 years after our divorce.
Grant helped me believe in the judicial system again. He also helped me believe that the right thing will eventually prevail if you have GOOD REPRESENTATION! Do not make the mistake of thinking that all attorneys are created equal. Grant was the perfect fit for my case. He is young and energetic and gave my case a massive shot in the arm. He has a team of other seasoned attorneys in his firm that worked together on my case, and his enthusiasm was the secret weapon. It was such an amazing experience having him represent me and my kids.

Keith came highly recommended from a friend whose husband serves as a Judge and who spoke highly of Keith's reputation for doing what is fair and just for the children of divorce. I interviewed numerous attorneys before I selected Jami. Most of the other attorneys informed me that "men dont win in Travis County - you're going to lose this case." My experience with my divorce was not that bad. It was not a typical divorce. It was very amicable. But I am the exception to the rule. I am certain if you are going through a divorce process it will not be as friendly as mine.
Laura Grumbine (my attorney) and Kate Koscheski (Paralegal) made this life event as smooth as possible.
Kate regularly updated me with the status of my case and made requests of any documents needed. She also was there to remind me if I forgot (which happens too often) or ommited anything.

I hired Mr. Merritt to represent me in my divorce. As scary as a situation as divorce can be, Mr. Merritt was very knowledgeable and professional from the start. He patiently walked me through the process (multiple times) which can be very confusing to someone who isn't familiar with legal jargon. Words cannot convey the appreciation I have for Travis, Christi and Ruth. Their hard work allowed me, a single father to win custody of my daughter. As any father in this position knows it's an uphill battle trying to gain custody of your child as you feel like you have no rights. Originally I started out with one of the well known, nationally advertised "Father Rights" law firms. Within a few months I began to feel like I was getting a cookie cutter service, as if they were handling my case according to a rule book. Catherine was a great "partner" to help me through my divorce. I had a fairly difficult situation with custody and she helped navigate through very skillfully. She is extremely smart, consultative and will always shoot straight with you.
One of the things I like most about Catherine is her "get it done" attitude. With most attorneys - the clock is their friend. With Catherine - she always did what was in my best interest and did it efficiently. Just one telling example - we needed to file a document early on in the process and instead of taking handwritten notes (like most attorneys would), and having her paralegal type it up later, review it, etc... Catherine turned around to her computer and just hammered it out. It saved time because it was done then, and it was done right the first time. I'm not saying this will happen all the time - but its a good example of her personality.

I saw a couple positive reviews mentioning Slav after I contacted Walters Gilbreath to handle my case because I was too busy working to handle it myself, so I thought I was in good hands. Nope. There were many errors that I caught on paperwork he did.
Travis County made an error on the lien I had filed on my ex-husband’s house in 2015, and Slav basically said there was nothing I could do about that.
My ex-was trying to get me to drop the $1000/mo spousal maintenance because he had to go on disability. He hadn’t been paying anything for the past 8 years except for the 2 years he was garnished.
John Hennan was my ex-husband’s attorney and he kept making lowball offers that I had TOLD Slav I would not accept, but, to run up the bill with 6-min minimum calls, Slav would call me himself, saying he was obligated to present all offers. It was also interfering with my job, which was also a huge issue.
Luckily I had a friend in California who is an attorney and she was happy to read the documents that Slav sent, and pointed out several errors, and she made helpful recommendations.
As far as Travis county and the lien error, I used my lunch break to contact them, showed them the error, and told the clerk I needed the corrected lien ASAP because my ex- was trying to sell his house quickly through Zillow. The Travis Clerk was amazing. She not only made the correction, but she emailed and mailed a certified copy that I was able to send to Zillow.
I had to pay a $5000 retainer for someone to just use it all up and ask me to sign documents with errors.
I will never use this firm again.
I would have done it pro se if I didn’t live in WilCo and have a great day job.

From start to finish they made sure that everything was just so and as a result I am legally me. 😊 Not only do I not dread social situations where I may be carded anymore, or going through the airport, I'm excited about being carded (which at 40 is no small feat 😅)
Are the services offered absolutely necessary? No, you can go through this process on your own, but their fees were not exorbitant by any stretch and they were work every penny for the peace of mind alone that it was being done right and wouldn't get kicked back.

Absolute charlatans. Initially spoke with Kennedy who told me everything I wanted to hear and referred me to Alonzo. All I was asking for is to have the court and force my custody rights in the Texas divorce decree. After draining my wallet for $25,000 over 2 years my case never got in front of a judge. My ex-wife's crackerjacks lawyer from some legal.com website kept my lawyer on her heels the entire time. My lawyer also found inventive ways to charge me more money and get a psychiatrist friend of hers into my pocket as well. Adding insult to injury, a friend of mines mother works at a competing law firm and was blown away that Gray and Becker was so ineffectual over something so black and white as custody outlined in a divorce decree IN THE SAME STATE THE DIVORCE WAS PROPAGATED.
