This is an awful firm to work with. They charge exorbitant fees. Use junior lawyers who are unqualified, have poor communication skills and take two days to respond to client requests. They charged us close to $6,000 for an eviction. Beware of this firm. I do not recommend and am pulling my three properties that are currently with them.

I was very impressed on every level with this operation.
Oh, and they significantly reduced the amount of trouble I was going to get into! Well worth the retainer.

I wouldn’t recommend using HKM Employment Attorneys. I spoke to Heather, attorneys Shelby Woods and Abby Zinman, they requested I upload my documents to their Dropbox, I did and never heard anything back from them. I text, sent numerous emails asking for an update and was completely ignored.

Carla was a horrible attorney for me! It was in 2011 I came to her with threats on my life from my husband and seeking a divorce. Her assistant Catherine MacCarthy did ALL the work and answer all my questions, Carla was sick but never was apologetic in her absence as my attorney. I didn’t receive what I should have because she wasn’t willing to stand up to my husbands attorney. I decided to see if she was still an attorney even, when I read all these nice reviews and had to get my truth out there.

If it were not for Carla's help, I'm not sure I would have the life that I share with my daughter today. Navigating the waters of a custody case are overwhelming and scary. Carla was very effective dealing with my emotions given what was at stake and kept me focused on what was important. Carla handled a fairly complicated divorce for me. She was very well prepared in court, often several steps ahead of opposing counsel. She had answers to their questions before they knew what they were going to ask.
She took care to ensure what was best for my son and leveraged a combination of negation and the courts to deescalate where possible. This ultimately brought us to settlement in what, by all measures, could have been a contentious and messy process.
Above all, I felt like she struck just the right balance between being legally and strategically acute, while still compassionate to the emotional difficulties of divorce. She often asked me of how my son was doing, with honest concern, and clearly wanted to help me achieve a peaceful and fair outcome.
I certainly have no plans to get divorced again, but I would highly recommend her to anybody needing a family attorney.

This Law Firm is by far one of the worst firms that I ever come across. They are condescending to clients, and will take your money, all while putting minimum effort in to your case. They use a system that is designed to rob you regardless of how you feel, meaning they'll convince you that things will go bad in your case unless you pay them more money. If you can't afford to pay any more, they'll relieve themselves from your case and insult you.We've reported them to the bar association, and hope that others who've been wronged will do the same. Sad that mr bagley himself was once mayor of Longmont, but doesn't surprise me, as he's hot headed and has no genuine concerne for the people of Longmont.

First of all, I would like to state that I am somewhat familiar with lawyers. I have been in business 19 years and during the course of that time I have engaged many attorneys for mergers and acquisitions, financial counseling, legal disputes with the State of Texas, HR related matters, contract negotiations, and litigation. Having said that, I am not an expert nor a novice.
In19 years, I have never worked with a legal group that is more disorganized, incompetent, and ignorant of basic financials. What is apparent with this organization is they focus on the billing more than the service. I am not one to argue fees provided there is a demonstration of competence and integrity. Unfortunately, you will not find it with this firm
It would appear that the Dadvocates and Samera were once competent and respectable if you look at the reviews. However, I would encourage you to look at current reviews. Most are quite poor and this should discourage you from engaging with them.
I sincerely hope that this law firm considers these reviews b/c they have fallen from grace and should seriously contemplate dismissing Samera and her team.

Katherine Reckman represented me in my divorce and she was very fair and steadfast through my proceedings. My ex husband chose very inept representative which derailed his case. In the end, he trusted Katherine to write up our agreement which he eventually signed. Divorce is ugly and stressful and in Colorado, you need someone who can negotiate with the other side to keep the cost down. Katherine did that and was able to do it with empathy. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this firm, and Terri Harrington, specifically. This was the best decision I made during a very overwhelming divorce process. I hired Terri the week before my scheduled mediation, as the previous lawyer dropped the ball significantly and I had to fire him. After I was rear-ended, and the pain in my back began to increase, I didn't know where to turn. I reached out to multiple attorney's offices, because medical bills were mounting. I talked to some of the attorneys in the commercials, but they wouldn't help me, even though back surgery was indicated. Then I saw a commercial for Dr. Ramos. From the first phone call, I was treated with empathy, sympathy, and genuine concern. She wasn't prepared for court. She had a witness on my behalf that she didn't register with the court. He showed up and couldn't testify. Brittany assured me it was a "slam dunk". I got taken in a big way. She was overly friendly with my ex-spouse's attorney in the courtroom, talking privately before the hearing.

Richard Lane provided an amazing experience for me when resolving my insurance case after I was hit by a drunk driver. Mr Lane overcame my reluctance to deal with an attorney by being forthright and patiently explaining the insurance process and how he could get it resolved. After not getting anywhere with the insurance agents for months, Mr Long was able to get everything settled very quickly so I could receive the settlement. He was very reasonable on the percentage that he accepted as payment and I would confidently recommend Richard Long for anyone who needs a lawyer for dealing with the nightmare of insurance. I was referred to Jeff by one of my clients who is also a real estate investor and fix n flip guy. When I first met with Jeff, he gave me his background of experience in this scope of law. He then explained how construction defect cases work as well as the ins and outs of how to navigate through one successfully. He thought from the beginning that there was no real claim but that we had to fight this as fraud and conspiracy were being charged. Long story short, we went to mediation and settled for less than what my attorney fees would have been to fight this. Btw, this dragged on for almost a year before we got to this point. While I didn't like the idea of settling as I felt that I did everything right in the sale of the home, the thought of wasting time and money in a trial made the outcome much more tolerable.

Mr Wittebort, is a great divorce attorney. He was straight forward and "honest". When I was asking for some unreasonable request he let me know that it would not be allowed in the divorce guidelines. When I got to court my husband asked for everything and I walked away with every I wanted. My daughter had divorced and was having trouble with her ex-husband, he was trying to take custody of their son from my daughter.
