I hired Colleen for a divorce, and during the initial consultation I was told everything I wanted to hear in order for her to get my retainer, then it all went downhill from there. I do not think it is ethical for attorneys to make false promises to clients, and have no accountability for poor performance. Colleen was never on time for a single appointment we arranged, and it was clear that she took on more cases than she could handle to maximize her revenue, even as it diminished the quality of her legal work. I would go into hearings having no idea what was going on, as there was inadequate or no preparation at all. In the end, I was coerced into a settlement agreement I did not want to sign, with Colleen complaining beforehand about collecting more attorneys fees, and her not wanting to do a full day hearing. You'd honestly be better off representing yourself.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more dedicated, knowledgeable, honest attorney than Colleen. She is the one person you want in your corner fighting for you in some of the most difficult situations attorneys have to navigate. She has been very help in a Family case that I've had to deal with over the last year or so. I would definitely recommend Colleen to anyone that has Family Court issues to fight.

You will struggle to find a better law firm than Aviso in Colorado Springs. They are exceptionally prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. I paid Joel Fry to defend me against Connie Matthews on charges of domestic violence. Durango is a small town. Everyone knows everyone. Connie owned a business around the corner from Joel’s office.
I told Joel that Connie attacked me multiple times. That the third time she was attacking me I pushed her off. Police arrived and I was arrested.
Joel continued to tell me to plea guilty, because he said, “The Judge will send you to jail.”. I trusted him and did. It’s now on my record. I remember him saying, “You’re retired. This conviction will not affect you.”
It came to light that Connie, single and 60, knew Joel, single and 60 and they both pretended not to know one another.
From my experience Joel Fry is not honest.
So beware.

I met Mr Eldridge 30yrs ago at the time he handled 3 cases did excellent job.
Recently, I was represented by Wade Eldridge in a court case where I was falsely accused and was facing three years in jail. I felt betrayed scared and small up again such accusations. Wade Not only took my case and helped me through this trying situation. He showed compassion and heartfelt case for me as a person he became my protector. He was there for me in my difficulties like no one else was, and he fought hard to bring me justice and defend my innocence, all through this he rest assured me that he would be there for me and give me his best effort, even though he had many other cases I always felt that I was important to him and he is going to save me as it all turned out he did be protecting me so very well that I was given no jail time at all, and even after the case Was ended he pursuing some injustice he discovered on my behalf. I got in a car accident where my car was totalled and my wrist and hand were broken. The other driver was at fault and I knew I needed a lawyer to help with this. I went to see a handful of lawyers about this and it didn’t feel right until I met Wade. Wade took the time to explain the process we would go through in detail. Wade & his paralegal Dawn are absolutely awesome. Dawn is unbelievable at organizing things and requesting what she needs from you. I don’t know how she keeps it all together. Katherine Reckman represented me in my divorce and she was very fair and steadfast through my proceedings. My ex husband chose very inept representative which derailed his case. In the end, he trusted Katherine to write up our agreement which he eventually signed. Divorce is ugly and stressful and in Colorado, you need someone who can negotiate with the other side to keep the cost down. Katherine did that and was able to do it with empathy. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this firm, and Terri Harrington, specifically. This was the best decision I made during a very overwhelming divorce process. I hired Terri the week before my scheduled mediation, as the previous lawyer dropped the ball significantly and I had to fire him. Terri and her team were incredibly communicative (for example, I have never had to wait longer than 24 hours for a reply), empathetic, knowledgeable, and quick. Charles did not remember our conversations, therefore, I needed to refresh him of the details. This occurred more than once in our small window of time, working together. This is unprofessional and a waste of everybody's time. When I called him on it, he turned it around as me being brash, vs me relaying truth. Avoid attorneys who cannot handle conflict... bad sign. He made good when I suggested most of my retainer fee be returned.

This is an awful firm to work with. They charge exorbitant fees. Use junior lawyers who are unqualified, have poor communication skills and take two days to respond to client requests. They charged us close to $6,000 for an eviction. Beware of this firm. I do not recommend and am pulling my three properties that are currently with them.

From my first appointment with Laura Shapiro to the day I picked up my copies of the court authorized divorce agreement, I knew I had a legal team of experts who cared that my final agreement would be comfortable and beneficial for me. They listened to my story, they coached me through my responsibilities, they were considerate of my collaborative wishes to work with my husband, and eventually designed a creative agreement that was acceptable to both of us.
From day one all fees and costs were made clear to me as well as the timeline necessary to get through the procedure.

It was truly an honor working with Hannah. I made the mistake of not doing my reaserch with my original lawyer on the case and after much research we found Hannah and it was quite a relief from the previous experience.
She paid attention to detail from my original divorce that was finalized in 2019 and caught something that I never would have caught, and it was a huge benefit in my case. She also has a paralegal that helps a lot with the cost. Family issues are important and unfortunately costly, but compared to my previous lawyer her hard work, and quick resposes were a fraction of the cost because of her paralegal. She is extremely motivaed and was able to settle our case out of court because of her polite yet strong character. Hannah is efficient, polite, and worked really well with opposing counsel, which I believe resulted in the case being handled outside of court. One thing Hannah would always provide is options. I really enjoyed knowing all my options and then getting her opinion on the route she would take. I happeded to agree with her on all matters that needed decision and I couldn't have asked for a better end result.
I highly recommend doing your research before settling, and having the consultation and you will realize Hannah is an oustanding choice to represent you.

Mikayla stepped into a difficult situation when my trial attorney left the practice of law. As others have said, she is fierce, knowledgeable, and practical. She knows the law and presents it calmly to the court in ways others only wish they could. She keeps an open ear, spots issues, and crafts legal writings that result in positive outcomes. More importantly to my own situation, she approaches cases with an eye toward the long term impact on trial history and the well being of children involved. Her ability to see the bigger picture and move to resolution is without compare. I’ve referred others to her knowing she is the right person to navigate difficult times. I don’t want to be in litigation, but if I must, Mikayla is the first person I call to unwind and correct issues. My children, let alone myself, are better off as a result.

I gave Mikayla an unbelievable amount of evidence, and updated on issues throughout the 2 years of my divorce. She failed me on so many levels. She submitted documentation with incorrect information. She didn't know opposing party evidence was relating to, as she told me in the middle of my hearing. She failed to ask the pertinent questions during questioning that would have been a game changer. I would never hire her again. This isn't a bash for all because my case came out bad, I got what was most important to me, but she cost me thousands of dollars in back-owed support as well as assets that she never accounted for.

Carla was a horrible attorney for me! It was in 2011 I came to her with threats on my life from my husband and seeking a divorce. Her assistant Catherine MacCarthy did ALL the work and answer all my questions, Carla was sick but never was apologetic in her absence as my attorney. I didn’t receive what I should have because she wasn’t willing to stand up to my husbands attorney. Carla handled a fairly complicated divorce for me. She was very well prepared in court, often several steps ahead of opposing counsel. She had answers to their questions before they knew what they were going to ask.
She took care to ensure what was best for my son and leveraged a combination of negation and the courts to deescalate where possible. This ultimately brought us to settlement in what, by all measures, could have been a contentious and messy process.
Above all, I felt like she struck just the right balance between being legally and strategically acute, while still compassionate to the emotional difficulties of divorce. She often asked me of how my son was doing, with honest concern, and clearly wanted to help me achieve a peaceful and fair outcome.
I certainly have no plans to get divorced again, but I would highly recommend her to anybody needing a family attorney.

She was in with the DA and didn't help my husband at all on his case, she would not fight for him why because the court was paying her. She no better then the public defender. She didn't even give him the right days credited. She should be an attorney an do her job right or not be an attorney at all !!! I would not recommend her as an attorney, she will fail you just like she did my husband.

First of all, I would like to state that I am somewhat familiar with lawyers. I have been in business 19 years and during the course of that time I have engaged many attorneys for mergers and acquisitions, financial counseling, legal disputes with the State of Texas, HR related matters, contract negotiations, and litigation. Having said that, I am not an expert nor a novice.
In19 years, I have never worked with a legal group that is more disorganized, incompetent, and ignorant of basic financials. What is apparent with this organization is they focus on the billing more than the service. I am not one to argue fees provided there is a demonstration of competence and integrity. Unfortunately, you will not find it with this firm
It would appear that the Dadvocates and Samera were once competent and respectable if you look at the reviews. However, I would encourage you to look at current reviews. Most are quite poor and this should discourage you from engaging with them.
I sincerely hope that this law firm considers these reviews b/c they have fallen from grace and should seriously contemplate dismissing Samera and her team.
