Timothy Allan McCan II (TJ) is an excellent Attorney. He worked with me very closely, explaining everything to me, made it easier to understand what was happening or going to be happening. I was not happy with my first Attorney and TJ was recommended to me. I called him and explained my situation. I had a very comfortable and positive feeling after speaking to him. Mr Dorsey and his team helped dig me out of the messy trench my last 2 lawyers had left me in. I can’t begin to explain how bad my first few lawyers had screwed up my case and made me look bad against an abusive drug addict narcissist who could charm the pant suit off Hilary Clinton. Unlike my last attorney who charged me an insane amount of money to screw me over, Mr Dorsey gave me a free consultation and always charged me honestly and fairly. No one really wants to go through any family/custody battles. So when I was faced with this issues I had no choice but to retain an attorney. After numerous hours/days of research I found the Dorsey Law Firm.
I came to Mr. Dorsey with a lot of uncertainty with my impending custody case. During my consultation Mr. Dorsey was fully tuned in and very attentive. He answered every question I had very confidently. After I retained Mr. Dorsey, his team and himself started working on the case promptly. They filed an emergency motion and was able to get a hearing for temporary custody within a few weeks. I was granted temporary custody until the outcome of the final hearing.
In Preparation for the final hearing Mr. Dorsey and the team were with me every step of the way. They reassured me of the potential outcome, instilled confidence in myself and the direction of the case. During the final hearing Mr. Dorsey was very thorough, firm, and fully prepared. His cross examination skills, rebuttals, presentation, and delivery was superb.

After my name change was approved without using a lawyer, I found out I needed to get it amended to include my birth name. The court order listed only my married name so I was unable to change my birth certificate. I started the amendment process on my own, but contacted Adam after I moved. He was able to change it to virtual court hearings. My amended name change was approved immediately once we had the court hearing with the judge. Ultimately, I wish I had contacted him sooner, before starting the name change. It is not as easy as it seems on your own. I would have saved on time, money, and stress.

I can only say, with all my heart, thank you very much! I came to see Attorney Marilyn Colon's after having hired two different attorneys who I felt were not representing me to their best extent.
On the first visit, I saw how professional attorney Colon was and as well as her team. She was surprised by the situations in my case and I remember her reassuring words; "You are a good father and you will have time that you deserve with your daughter."
She took all of my information about my case and started working right away. Joseph and his team are incredible. I was dealing with a long distance divorce/custody case, with homeschooled children. I'd had a couple of attorneys, only one of whom actually helped, but then things seemed to fall apart. I needed to make some changes because my children were not doing well.
Our plan hadn't been finalized yet, so time was of the essence.
A few other mommas, in a similar situation, recommended Joe. I consulted with a few attorneys, but none of them were willing to really listen. All of them left me feeling hopeless and very triggered. After years of psychological and emotional abuse, I wasn't in a place to be able to handle those types of attorneys.
Joe was different. He was careful, calm, kind, and compassionate, but still straightforward with no b.s. I felt safe. I think that's what all of us want, really. Joe stayed in communication with me. He didn't leave me hanging. He kept me informed, answered every question, and was patient through all of it. He didn't yell at me (yeah, that has happened before). I had been using Mr. Cripps from the time my son was 2 for my initial divorce and child support and his fathers indiscretions until he was 13. Never once did he promise me ANYTHING! There were times I felt so frustrated and wondered what the hell he was doing? Why wasn’t he ordering drug tests? Why wasn’t he fighting harder? All the while what I didn’t know was that Mr. Cripps knew the system inside and out and knew it would not fly. Not to mention the integrity and trust he has built with the courts is stellar! They know he’s not there to just throw anything at the wall to see if it sticks. The many many times we were in court we won, EVERY TIME! And when my sons father would show with a high payed attorney that his mom payed for they would try and bs, along with my ex, and lost! The one thing I truly regret was listening to a friend who convinced me to use another attorney at a very crucial point in time, that he had used and I ended up paying probably about 6 times what I would have paid with Cripps and I know he still would have done better than she did. I still won but even she didn’t think she did. There is no doubt in my mind he would have too! And better! Mr. Cripps would always talk me down. I was very emotional, scared, lost, angry, all the things! And he was so patient with me. I will never forget the one thing I always remember and carry with me that he told me, “he will hang himself” he said to me. At the time that frustrated me but when I look back I can tell he knew the type. He simply has seen it all. Mr. Cripps has a secret guys. He reads people.
