I should have hired Counselor Michael right away. But after firing my previous lawyer, I made a very good choice by using Michael Guntenski Esquire as my divorce lawyer. He is a leader in the profession who is generous with his time.
Mike is a compassionate advocate and an experienced litigator and made sure I got what I wanted in my settlement as my divorce was rough and could have been a lot more difficult had it not been for Mike. He arrived for every appearance on time and prepared. He continually kept up with the opposing attorney, repeatedly negotiating on my behalf.
He always kept me up to date and informed on these negotiations, and always asked for my opinion and input, and moved forward based on that input.

Experiencing a divorce is not really something you plan for, especially after having children with someone. It can be an incredibly overwhelming, emotional, and confusing time. It was for me. Having said that, there are steps you can take to help ease the fear of the process. One of the steps, and in my opinion probably the most important, is hiring the "right" divorce lawyer. I wanted someone who really took the time to understand me and my children. I didn't want to be treated like any other client with a failed marriage. It was my life and it felt like it was falling apart. I needed compassion and direction. I needed someone who above all else would put my children first no matter how angry I got at my former husband.
Bottom line, I wanted a lawyer who genuinely cared. Michael Gunteski was exactly who I needed. His unwavering resolve to protecting my children was like nothing I could have hoped for. He guided me through one of the hardest times in my life with patience and dedication to doing what was right for my family and our future. My judgment was at times clouded by anger, fear, and frustration. Michael continuously reassured me that my children and I would be protected and that I would rebuild my life again. His expertise and knowledge of family law was impressive but his open-hearted approach to understanding what I was feeling was most remarkable.

My experience with this law firm was is that if you have issues with D.C.C.P. Allison Williams is the attorney that you absolutely should get on your side especially, if you don't have close to a squeaky clean past and/or you do not walk a straight line. No matter what you did or what they said you did, the outcome will likely be a lot better if you get Allison on your case. An attorney in the Williams firm represented my wife in a D.C.C.P. case. The outcome in my wife's case was ok but now looking back after meeting Allison she should have paid more money for Allison instead of getting one of the other attorneys in the firm.
Although I only spoke with Allison one time with my wife ,knowing the system very well and the past dealings I have had with other attorneys, I feel that Allison is the real deal and can be trusted. I would advise you to pay the extra money she charges for her service rather than getting one of the other attorneys in her firm that will not represent you like Allison will.
I am hoping to get Allison to help me gain custody of my 7 year old daughter. I met other attorneys from big expensive firms, and I pick Allison over all of them.

I recently worked with Thomas A. Roberto (Tom) for my divorce while residing overseas. From the outset, Tom’s professionalism and expertise were evident. Thank you, DENNIS SHLIONSKY and DANIELLE! This is the second time Dennis represented me, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Right when we were about to settle my first case, I got into another minor accident that made my neck pain even worse. The insurance company tried to brush it off as a simple fender bender, but Dennis didn’t let them get away with it. Even though I had surgery after the first accident and the MRI showed my herniation had shrunk, Dennis fought tooth and nail to make sure I got every dollar I deserved.
Dennis isn’t just an incredible lawyer, he’s a genuinely good person. He listens, cares, and follows through on everything he promises. There were times I needed to reach him on weekends or late at night, and he always picked up the phone, no questions asked. Hired for a simple 20 minute virtual court session, spoke one word exactly, left her computer three times to work on other cases causing the judge to roll his eyes and waste tons waiting for her return.
Most important! After three months delaying the requested fee itinerary for the $1000.00 retainer, she illegally added multiple unperformed fees totaling $1010.00. She did this deliberately to prevent upholding her own client rule stated on her site that any unused retainer payments will be refunded. During a personal live phone conversation with Toni Russo, I needed to prove more than once her negligence in fiduciary role I paid her for, proving she worked no more than exactly 12 minutes. She refunded me $500.00 and has been sending non stop bills accumulating interest based on the $10.00 she conjured up illegally. Currently i am working with the NJ Office of Attorney Ethics and US Bar Assiciation.

Unfortunately I was too deep into the process to switch attorneys. I physically handled and negotiated my case. Made copies, provided responses to other attorneys because Russo did not reply timely. The responses that were provided by the firm had another clients information. At one point I was emailed another clients entire divorce settlement. I was also mailed a copy of the same parties personal information. She drags everything out as long as possible to keep collecting, review your bills carefully as I found over $1K in discrepancies for meetings or phone calls which never took place. I was billed for services performed by the paralegal (Amanda) where they tried to attach the attorneys hourly rate. Overall terrible experience, other attorneys do not respect her which was evident.

Micheal has been my attorney through a horrible shameful divorce and custody battle since 2012.
After 5 long years, Micheal is still fighting the battles and the road blocks that my ex-wife keeps throwing our way.
The father always seems to be considered "second class" with the court system which makes it hard to always get to the truth. Micheal will always make sure that your child's voice is heard to help fulfill your child's needs.
We had 4 parent coordinators, 2 guardian alignments, therapists, and social services in place which has been extremely expensive and heartbreaking across the board. Micheal has waived my fees sometimes during all of these services because the expenses were out of control and I was unable to keep up.
He always puts my sons needs and best interest first as he continues to support and help me fight this horrible battle. Micheal Spinato has gone beyond the call of duty during the last 5 years and I stand behind him 110% to stand up for my rights as a dad. I would not want any other attorney in my corner, for Micheal is the best around!

Michael is not only the ultimate professional and is an expert on Divorce law, but is warm, generous, and empathetic to his clients. Going through such a horrible situation I always felt protected.... I knew that I was going to be ok... all because I had Michael representing me. He is extremely well versed in his profession and happens to be such a gentleman as well. He always understood what I going through and he showed emotion, compassion and care as he handled my case. This, to me, is what makes him stand out above others attorneys. As a woman, I needed to know that my children and I would be protected, be treated fairly and receive all I was entitled to. Michael was also extremely attentive to me, answering my emails and phone calls quickly, ultimately making me feel like I was his only client.
Michael is the ultimate professional... in his manner, speech and his correspondences. He is extremely well respected among his peers. As we would walk through the courthouse, everyone knew him and genuinely greeted and spoke with him with respect. I hired this office for a very simple case regarding visitation and child support. I was told multiple times that the ease of the case would not allot for more money than the amount of my retainer agreement and that I would get a refund. I paid the retainer agreement in full. I supplied the supporting documentation including requesting previous records myself, weeks before the case. Somehow they still only filed my counter application a day before my court date. Court was ok, although I felt it could have been much shorter however the attorney didn’t do anything to stop the other party from rambling on and on. After court I received an email stating I’d hear from the legal assistant regarding my refund. Instead I received a bill for $2,000 extra dollars. I looked through the itemization, shocked but accepting I am no expert. The billed items charged hundreds of dollars for my inquiry with the office (before I even decided about being represented), phone calls that were only few minutes long where I was charged an hour or more (I matched to my phone records), emails that didn’t ever happen, record requests where I had supplied the records myself, and several other items that were entirely made up. I disputed the charges, providing my own records (like my phone bill and email record that in no way could have been fabricated), and was told that I didn’t understand how things worked. I offered to compromise and started doing my own research. It turned out this is a repeat issue with this office and now I have to file a formal dispute that will end up with me in court/mediation again. Be careful- I guarantee you’ll be overcharged if they think you can pay it.

Ms. Jerijian is a highly intelligent and eloquent attorney. She is a great communicator and we never had to chase her. I contacted Ms. Jerijian seeking legal representation for a young family member. Unlike the other attorneys I interviewed, Ms. Jerijian listened patiently and carefully, and did not give us the bum’s rush or pressure us. Without going into detail, our family member had been dealing with recent difficult events that had bearing on the matters. Ms. Jerijian’s compassion and understanding, coupled with her knowledge of the law and the various NJ court systems, deeply impressed me – as did the rapport she developed with the young family member, which caused him to trust her and accept her guidance. She never treated him like just another case. In my opinion, this helped the prosecutor and the court consider all relevant factors. We were very pleased with the resolution.

I could never recommend this firm for representation on any matters. I had a more simple matter and had to ask for monthly invoice's, which should be sent by legitimate firms on a monthly basis. All I can think of is this may be because they do no work on your file, which is not why you hire counsel. Essentially, after four months, I felt zero attention to my case. If you need representation, or a firm to work on your case, and put time in with attention to detail, I'd suggest you pursue another firm that will put the time in. I hired another firm months ago who got a lot further in 3 weeks than this firm did after 4 months. Its a shame as previously I had thought highly of this firm, but now with my own experience, I couldn't recommend them for simple matters much less anything complex.

My experience with this law firm was is that if you have issues with D.C.C.P. Allison Williams is the attorney that you absolutely should get on your side especially, if you don't have close to a squeaky clean past and/or you do not walk a straight line. No matter what you did or what they said you did, the outcome will likely be a lot better if you get Allison on your case. An attorney in the Williams firm represented my wife in a D.C.C.P. case. The outcome in my wife's case was ok but now looking back after meeting Allison she should have paid more money for Allison instead of getting one of the other attorneys in the firm.
Although I only spoke with Allison one time with my wife ,knowing the system very well and the past dealings I have had with other attorneys, I feel that Allison is the real deal and can be trusted. I would advise you to pay the extra money she charges for her service rather than getting one of the other attorneys in her firm that will not represent you like Allison will.
I am hoping to get Allison to help me gain custody of my 7 year old daughter. I met other attorneys from big expensive firms, and I pick Allison over all of them.

Angela Scafuri, I was referred to her by a retiring attorney. It was the best possible turn of events for me. She listened attentively and non-judgmentally to my issue and to my hesitations.
