John Foster is a real professional. I run a firm that buys houses from people who need to sell off-market, and one of the reasons is people in some kind of financial trouble, pending foreclosure, etc. John helps us serve these people well and has really impressed us with his responsiveness, competence and character. Unfortunately, I don’t have many positive things to say. John worked with me financially, however he was very uncommunicative, unresponsive, often going weeks without acknowledging that I sent him a text, email or phone call. My boyfriend also hired him and is experiencing the same issue. If you have an immediate issue, he is not the lawyer for you.

I've had the unfortunate, nerve racking, stressful opportunity to have to find a lawyer. I found Jim through a coworker who recommended. WOW!! That's all I can say. He made having to deal with all of it less stressful. I have had the pleasure of hiring and referring Jim for multiple cases. I was in a bad car accident when I first hired Jim. He talked me through every step in the process and made me feel great about hiring him. He was there every step of the way, and his staff was so attentive. They definitely made my past experience and feelings/nerves of having to hire a lawyer go out the window. After many google searches, and endless phone calls with other lawyers, literally about to give up hope, Karen Reynolds family law popped up on google. Let me preach about Karen and our story for a moment; because I will forever swear by Karen Reynolds. She is the most patient, kindhearted, attentive, thorough lawyer we have had the pleasure of working with. My fiancé has had an ongoing uphill custody battle with the mother of his child. Not only would the mother not let the child see his father; but she wouldn’t even allow a simple phone call for Father’s Day. Or a call on his birthday. because a “5yr old boy has just such a busy schedule; there was no time or room to fit in dad.”That is what the mother told the father in many messages. From the countless messages of him begging to just speak with his son. Sadly, I hopelessly watched the man who I love and admire for his strength and resilience crumble and break. this woman singlehandedly, who he once loved, vowed to spend the rest of his life with; the same woman who he created a beautiful little boy with destroyed any hope he had of ever seeing his child again. The same man who I 1000 percent trust with my 3 boys, wasn’t allowed to even speak to his child. The mother ripped even his legal rights away. Finally my fiancé listened to me, and went against his “better” judgment. (He’s had really bad luck in the past with previous lawyers.). we saved for the lawyer, and in March met with Karen. We told her his story. She listened and was very very thorough with the history, paperwork, and attentiveness to the matter. There wasn’t a time of day Karen didn’t respond to a call or email. Karen saw my fiancé is not a bad person. He is not an evil man he was made to look like. And he was NOT abusive or controlling in the ways he was portrayed. He was a stay at home daddy that devoted himself to his son. Then was turned into the manipulative angry violent monster. He was not perfect. He had an addiction that stemmed from his time in the marines. But he got clean 3yrs ago; and has been clean ever since. Ultimately, he was not that person he was made out to be;In fact Karen saw his kind heart, his emotionally charged unconditional love for his son; difficulty in swallowing his pride to let Karen take control. Almost a 9mths since my fiancé last saw his child; months of back and forth emails, phone calls, consolidations, court hearings, piles and piles of paperwork. Karen’s motherly frustrations, patience, and instinct with my fiancé was award winning to say the least. With every bump Along the way, she never gave up on my fiancé; she never told him it was impossible. Actually, she told him it was inevitable; he was going to see his son again. At some points my fiancé started to lose hope. But between Karen and myself, we kept him fighting. Now, my fiancé gets every other weekend with his child. He has his legal rights back; which shouldn’t have been taken to begin with. He can show up to his extra curricular activities. He can FaceTime with his son privately. His son finally gets to meet his step brothers that he has been hearing on those calls. He gets holidays. He gets to be apart of his child life again... all thanks to Karen. Karen made the impossible, possible again. We still call on her for the most minuscule things; because the mother makes it absolutely impossible to work with. But again, Karen is still right there, sending email after email. We couldn’t be any more grateful for her. trust me, our battle isn’t over yet. She will also be handling his divorce, too.
If you want a welcoming, kindhearted, assertive “shark” lawyer who is has an abundance of knowledge. who is very well educated in family law, and will help with the financial aspect the best she can; Karen Reynolds is without a doubt the best family lawyer Throughout Chester and Montgomery county. i swear she is worth every penny. (Karen, we cant say thank you enough.). The coffee at the office was the cherry on top.

Went with my newly married grandson, his wife, my son, his wife and little girl, another grandson( that takes his dates there) my daughter and myself. Orders were across the board and all were excellent. My son and family are going to add this place to one of their regular favorites. They eat out at least 3 times a week

Could not be more disappointed in the effort. It’s one thing to get a raw deal from a very broken system. It’s another to feel like your attorney couldn’t care less.
You would think that before a conversation with your client, you would have done some prep and know the broad strokes of the case…. When you have tell your attorney how long your marriage was over and over again, it just sends an “I don’t care” message to your client. At least the first 3 times we spoke I had to tell her the length of marriage. Dealing with the issue of spousal support, where length of marriage is a key factor, you would think that you would not have to answer that question repeatedly. I know this to be true, because it stuck in my mind. I started having 2nd thoughts during each of the first couple conversations. Didn’t get the sense she cared one bit about the case.
We had a meeting scheduled several days prior to a court hearing. 1pm she was to call me. I sat around for hours. No call. Now she claims that she called and nobody answered. Well I have no missed call. I have no voicemail. I have no email. No communication whatsoever until 7:30am, on the day of the hearing, 5 days later. Zero effort made to contact me in the 5 days between the scheduled call and meeting.
After that January date until the next scheduled hearing, in April, we did not have a single conversation. I wasn’t even sure I was still being represented at that point. I had already become indifferent as to whether or not she would be at the next hearing. I get a call at 4:30pm the day prior. It’s not her paralegal. It’s not my attorney. It’s another attorney from the firm who I worked with on a different case. I had more contact with him during the hearing than I did with my attorney of record. Matter of fact, from January on, even past that April date, we didn’t have a single conversation where privilege would attach. Because we never communicated.
Just absolutely unbelievable… you can’t guarantee results, but you will never get results if you fail make any effort. I know opposing counsel is digging into my finances and anything he can get his hands on. I couldn’t even get my attorney to request a copy of my wife’s unemployment claim, even with an easy in to the claim as a personal friend of mine is a supervisor with PA Unemployment office and I just simply needed to have an official request. Sounds like “inadequate discovery” to me….

If you want to give thousands of your hard earned dollars to lawyers who will provide absolutely no service in exchange, this is the firm for you! Six months and the only attempt at any actual service was nullified by their inability to type an address correctly. If they deign to grace you with a reply to an email, it will only address the first sentence. If they actually answer their phone, you'll be treated to an empty promise of a call back.
You'd do better lighting your money on fire under the full moon than entrusting these scam artists.

Chris Simcox has been our attorney for years for family/custody matters. I live out of state but have, on very few occasions, been in the courthouse in PA. Chris really fights hard for us. She acts and looks very professional. Opposing counsel on the other hand was quite the contrary; applying bulldog-like tactics with her dramatic antics, fabricating lies on the spot, all while making herself look clinically insane and obnoxious- a complete showboat. I tried very hard to be respectful as I try to be kind to everyone even if they are unkind to me. Chris was organized, composed with just the right amount of aggressiveness to defend her client, efficient with evidence and paperwork, professional, knew the right things to say. We don’t always win everything but we have won most and we are grateful for her expertise. We are proud to have her represent us in the court room. The firm itself has also been great to us. As I near $40k, and over a year and a half in divorce expenses, I could not imagine having a better lawyer and ally than Dave Schanbacher. In divorcing the daughter and sister, of two county judges (from the county in which we and our children live), Dave has brought a superior knowledge and accountability to a flawed system. His profound expertise has enabled him to sort out fact from fiction, and to beautifully navigate what is clearly an uphill battle, and an arduous process. While we still have much work to do, I can’t imagine having a better and more trustworthy attorney. My only regret, is that I didn’t hire Dave as my first attorney; instead opting for a local, and egregiously less talented local (Bellefonte) attorney.

Hired him for my divorce. Definitely laid it on thick when first met him. Provided him with detailed and organized information. Paid him considerably to review information and to be prepared. None of that happened. He was so disorganized and unprepared in court. I found times where I had to bring information to court that he already had, but wasn’t prepared with. He still fumbled through and couldn’t present case. Pretty embarrassing. I give you one example of many. We had to go in front of divorce master. Both parties had appraisals done. One item a four wheeler was appraised $1600.00 of any book value. I pointed this out to Dave way before meeting to submit for evidence. He said just bring to meeting. Needless to say divorce master wouldn’t except it because it wasn’t submitted for evidence. Thanks Dave you just cost me $1600.
This is just one of many mistakes. I really considered firing him, but at the time I couldn’t afford another retainer. Believe me I checked with other lawyers. When I told them what was going on, they just shook their heads.
I hope someone who reads this,learns from my mistake. Looks somewhere else. I will say this about Dave, he’s a shark when he’s trying to get more money from you. Too bad it doesn’t follow into court. Sad display for a lawyer claiming to have all this experience. Good luck.

My letter to Joseph, still waiting on a repsonse from him:
Dear Joseph,
I wish to express my concerns about your last representation. In no way am I upset about the outcome of the recent custody conciliation. What I am very disappointed in is the total lack of guidance you had offered me when I had presented at your office in January. As a matter of fact, we never truly discussed the current situation in your office prior to the conciliation paperwork even being completed. I truly believe that had you took the time to go through my documents with me, and properly guided me as to the criteria for the request I was making, that we would have reached the same recommendation back in January that I am facing now.
I know that there are no guarantees in legal proceedings. I do expect proper guidance and representation a month before the fact when I present for it and not in a quick twenty minutes just before the custody conciliation is to take place and be left to defend myself. I view these circumstances as unprofessional conduct and expect more from such an honored attorney.
It is therefore I believe I should be entitled to reimbursement for some of the legal fees I have incurred. These proceedings could have been timed more effectively had you given this matter the attention it deserved for the fees I have submitted for your time and services.
.....In short, Joseph didn't have the time for the prior consult I scheduled with him and he just took my check and filed the papers without knowing a single fact. Once we did talk just twenty minutes before the conciliation (a month later), it was all so clear that Joseph initiated the action way to fast and just blew my time and money which was completely avoidable had he done things in the correct order. Why any lawyer would file a case before talking to his client is just beyond me????? I will be finding a new attorney..................
