I hired Rebecca McLaws as my divorce attorney. I knew my case would be extremely complex. Rebecca is compassionate, honest, thorough in a courtroom and very detailed! She kept me informed of all my options and explained the process in a manner I could understand. I’ve been so impressed with her and her character, I would absolutely hire her as my attorney again, if needed for any reason. I would HIGHLY recommend her practice! She is the epitome of professionalism and has definitely earned my respect. Rebecca and Rosalyn are a perfect team! I not only feel as if I'm a client - but a true friendship that has evolved from me pouring out my life history!! From the first consult with Rebecca I felt her comfort. I would not recommend working with McLaw’s Law Group. My experience was marred by several communication breakdowns and a lack of professionalism from both Rebecca and her paralegal, Rosalyn. Divorce is challenging, and while there are no winners, a competent attorney can help their client feel more confident and secure throughout the process. To be fair, I will outline both the positives and negatives of my experience with Rebecca.
Initially, Rebecca was very responsive. I did not have the funds to retain her immediately, so she kindly gave me a week to gather the money from selling my house. However, I asked Rebecca to escrow the funds from the sale into her account, but she deferred to my ex’s legal team to manage the escrow. This has since become a nightmare, making it difficult to retrieve my money. Once the case settled, I could not pick up the check from my ex’s legal team; it was sent via FedEx to Rebecca’s office, which failed to deliver it, causing further delays.
Rebecca went on leave due to a death in her family without notifying me. After several unanswered emails and calls, her paralegal, Rosalyn, eventually informed me that Rebecca was out of the office. When I confronted Rebecca about the lack of communication, she blamed me for over-communicating, saying there were no updates to provide. However, I wasn't just seeking updates; I needed a timeline and next steps, which they failed to provide.
During this time, I lost my car and had to rent one to meet Rebecca. After traveling an hour and fifteen minutes, I called to inform her I was running five minutes late, only to learn she wasn't in the office and had been called into emergency court the day before. Although she apologized, this incident was just one of many demonstrating their lack of professionalism and communication.
This was my first divorce, and I had many questions. Given my financial situation, having a clear timeline and next steps was crucial to plan my life. I ended up losing almost everything in the divorce. Additionally, my mother and brother fell ill, prompting me to push for a settlement instead of waiting two more months for the court date. Unfortunately, the settlement process took longer than going to court would have, partly due to my ex’s lawyer, Jackie Piland, taking a week to review a document. Throughout the process, it seemed that either my legal team or my ex’s was not being truthful about the status and next steps.
I expressed my diminishing confidence in Rebecca to her, and instead of reassuring me, she stated she did not want to represent a client who lacked confidence in her abilities and refused to return the retainer. If a paying client expresses doubt, the professional response would be to reassure them, not threaten to terminate the contract.
Lastly, I am still facing issues retrieving the settled funds and have yet to receive a response to my emails or phone calls. Given these experiences, I cannot recommend working with Rebecca.

I have had the fortunate and unfortunate pleasure of working with SWTW, and more specifically Andrea Pawlak and Kevin Ward, both of which I can not speak highly enough about. I have been through the worst of life experiences and can honestly say that without their friendship and guidance I would be in a much different position. Andrea is by far the most prepared, educated, dedicated and passionate attorney that I have been exposed to. The single greatest attribute that stands above the rest is her ability to manage a client through what is seemingly their worst moments in life such as a child's death and/or a contentious divorce. Andrea brings a level of personal connection to the engagement and truly cares about the well being of her clients, not just the outcome! She knows the case inside and out and is so well prepared to provide her clients with the necessary information to make educated decisions. A lawyers job is not to make choices on custody as mentioned in a review below, that is the clients decision, your attorney should be a trusted ally that provides you with legal informed decision making options and aligns with your morals, values and ethics, I could not recommend Andrea and SWTW more because of this reason.

Tired of her unethical actions towards, a loved ones case in Cobb county, as a public defender. I have been dealing with this lawyer for over a year and she has visited my family member 1 time and knows nothing about his cases. I call for updates she has hung up on me or more than 2 occasions. Everyone deserves her to handle their cases for the best possible outcome per the state bar. This lawyer is also on social media making videos,when she could be studying my family members case. Less than 1 star and will be taking this review further until justice is served according to the codes of conduct as an attorney in the state of GA

This has been a road with this lawyer as I would give her less than 1 star if I could because of the way she has treated my family member in their court case in Cobb county. Instead of admitting she knows nothing about his cases (felony) & her YSL case is her priority she denies and lies as if she has visited when it is documented that she has not but once. Every case she takes or is assigned to, deserve a fair chance of representation & the oath states that she is supposed to “adhere to all articles of conduct while working tirelessly for the best possible outcome.” When I call to ask about updates she is rude. A life should be her concern paid or not! I will be complaining to state bar as this matter has been ongoing with her for over 1 year with her unprofessional manner.

To whom it may concern,

Therefor we searched the internet for a law firm in Georgia. We used the internet because we live in Florida, and our son lived in Georgia.
We chose Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor as our law firm. They were able to accomplish what we needed to settle our sons' state. Melanie Prehodka was our representing lawyer. She and her staff (Brittni Delk, Heather Morrison, Pamela Lewis, Aiden Glahn) and many more were able to meet all of our needs.

Bill was kind and understanding of my limitations, and worked within my limitations to get things done.
He does not put on airs or arrogance. He is an ex-Veteran (Army)...and down to earth.
He was gracious to my family especially my daughter as he believed he was fighting for her.
His is a small firm and you are not paying for a lot of the extra frivolties of large firms. Because of this, he was able to arrange a payment plan when I had little to nothing to give at the beginning.
He is just a no nonsense man who knows the law backwards and forewards.
He is not a typical suit and tie shark lawyer only wanting money. He works for the money you pay him and he works with you on payment.
His fees and payment arrangements were reasonable and fair and flexible.
He made sure I understood the law as well as he did. He explained things thoroughly so I was never wasting my time with misunderstandings and confusions.
He negotiated intelligently for me with the other lawyer throughout a complex divorce involving financial and emotional abuse, mental problems, trauma, a personality disorder, disability, and molestation.
He was honest, and put his foot down when I was not following through on my side...making sure I was not wasting money or opportunities...But he did so with tact.
He mediated me a good financial lump sum from my divorce.
My daughter and I are in a good financial situation due to him.
He plans to help me to negotiate down some of my debt with creditors.
He has told me his favorite cases are injury cases...I know he can handle any case with any complexities seeing what he was able to do with my case.
I had to drive an hour and a half each way to see him each time we met....and I have to say that.

I called Saeed and explained my traffic ticket; unlike the other lawyers who wanted me to hire them immediately and pay them up front. Saeed advised me that my traffic ticket was a simple expiry of tag and that i should be able to pay the fine without paying thousands to any lawyer. Saeed is a fantastic attorney and just a genuinely caring guy. His office is in a very nice area, and conveniently located.
