Though most of these reviews are good I am unfortunately going to be the one to break that mold. This woman is an absolute nut-case. Linda Marshall represented our former landlord in a SMALL CLAIMS dispute regarding our deposit (this by the way is an area of law Linda knows absolutely NOTHING about and she proved that lack of knowledge while in court). Prior to the court case (which she delayed time and time again for a year and a half), it was settled via a mediator for a sum to be paid back to us by the landlord. This was after she concocted bogus charges of over $10,000 (an amount of money the Small Claims division does not even deal with). The landlord was ordered to pay within 10-days. On the 10th day the money was received; however, due to my grandmother's illness we had to be back in our home state when the money arrived. Upon our return the money was deposited and a letter drafted for the court and sent. This was obviously NOT within Linda's perceived timeframe because she has proceeded to file a motion demanding $700 for her time to contact the court. A decision made solely by her and NOT her client as he confirmed. I will spend as much of my personal time as it takes letting as many people throughout Houston know about her tactics. Family law??? I wouldn't let my family within 500 yards of this woman...
Last, and this is important for anyone considering hiring Linda, she milks her clients for as much money as she possibly can. She has drained our former landlord to a point that I actually feel sorry for him. She has also taken complete advantage of his lack of knowledge of American laws further draining him of his finances.

Ms. Marshall is nothing short of a rare gem in the world of family law attorneys. I have worked with other attorneys, many of whom very well known, and have excellent reviews, but Ms. Marshall still stands apart due to many reasons: Intelligence, creativity in finding solutions, trustworthiness, and honesty that I have not seen before. She is very detailed oriented, and very sharp in grasping the full picture and dynamics of the relationship. Her creativity is outstanding, and shows well when providing solutions that many other attorneys I consulted with have not even thought of. If you are in an abusive relationship, look no further! She will listen, understand, and figure out how to deal with abusers. But most importantly, she helps others, while expecting nothing in return !! That only speaks for itself.

I hired this firm in 2017, finalized the divorce in 2018. My ex-husband and I had a primary residence for sale and agreed to split the significant balance of our retirement at the sale of the home rather than a withdrawal at the close of the divorce. The problem was that when the residence sold, three years later, I found my ex-husband had emptied the retirement account two months before the sale. I felt confident that an attorney could get my retirement account back since I had the divorce decree to back it up. I then learned that my Fullenweider Wilhite attorney, Michael Childs, had neglected to include a clause in the decree to prevent this, a decree written by my ex-husband’s attorney, thus allowing my ex-husband to take my retirement funds. You rely on family law attorneys to know these rules and protect you from opposing counsel acts of this nature. Financially devastated and disappointed. I do not recommend this firm.

A lawyer at this firm was trying to razzle and dazzle me. I was all for it until I was denied professional courtesy and a referral for a lawsuit I was looking into. Maybe if their lawyers spent less time on online dating and more time practicing law it could have been a win win scenario. I'd never disparage someone without personal opinion. This may be a great firm but I'm just sharing personal experiences with a SHSU hire. (Theoretically speaking)

She had five months to modify child support and get a hearing on enforcement and did neither. I had five court dates that were delayed or dismissed because she either did not follow proper procedures or didn’t do the necessary work to be prepared. When I started questioning ad asking for documents of what was being done, she accused me of being abusive and withdrew as my lawyer right before important court dates.

I used this person for my divorce and she did a horrible job with the paperwork it was half done and incorrect. I tried to get my court order that she prepared enforced by the judge and strange enough she was there with another client and she heard the judge tell me it was done wrong and she didn't say a word she left me hanging with the mess she created so needless to say I hire another attorney to get it done right! I paid almost 6,000 for a simple divorce!

Charged legal fees in advance twice then failed to pursue my claim. Did not take adequate steps in the case, almost no follow up, and ignored my questions and concerns. This person should not be allowed to practice law. I will be filing a complaint with the Texas State Board.

This law firm stands with high honors ! They went above and beyond our expectations. My Aunt who has now passed away was extremely happy at the time she asked The Díaz Law Firm, to assist her in filing legal documents for her own Last Will and Testament and was very determined . My late aunt whom was in her 90's hired him as her attorney for her will. My aunt wanted to revoke her will and asked me to contact Mr. Diaz, I called 3 times In which his wife answered everytime and always had an excuse as to why he could not come to the phone, I told her my aunt wanted to talk to him about cancelling the will, Mrs Diaz said each time Mr. Diaz would call us back. We never got a return phone call back from him. Which resulted in many problems with the will after my Aunt passed away.

I hired Ryan Putz to help correct the mistakes I made from a previous attorney. Not a single thing changed. I discussed my issues with another attorney and was told that many issues should have been resolved and corrected. Mr Putz should have identified the verbiage and made the corrections. I feel there should have been a stronger, more assertive representation. I thought he would have fought for me, stood in my corner. He failed on all points. Communication was less than stellar. Phone calls and emails were random at most. Every issue I encountered was received with that’s an enforcement issue and I needed to rehire the firm to pursue it. Bryan Fagan seems to be an awesome individual and if I could afford him I’d have him in a heartbeat. He built a great firm and I believe in him. He should select those that share his determination and compassion.

My accident case was settled over a year ago. Each time I contact the law firm, no one can give me a status of when I will receive my settlement check. I contacted the medical providers and they tell me they are waiting to hear from the law firm for payment. But the last time I was given a status the law firm told me they were waiting to hear back from the medical providers. This attorney and her staff is HORRIBLE. I will be filing a grievance against Ms. Frederick. Who I have NEVER met. This is not a real law firm. They are just ambulance chasers.

Ineffective assistance of counsel! I was a victim of his and James Davis back in 2003. "I need more money or I am walking and you can use a Public Defender, sign the plea."
Forensic proof I was innocent, but he ignored it, and the DA Mike Trent suppressed it.
Before I left for 10 years of prison, "I thought that we could have won your case." This was after I asked him for the case files to file an appeal.

Patrick Ruzzo is a fine trial attorney with over 100 trial. He was very helpful to me in my two divorce cases and I have seen him in action n many criminal trials. He is the best. I dont dislike Andrew Tatgenhorst as a person even though he does appear very bored and generally disgruntled. However, I do have experience with him as opposing counsel and my genuine feeling/opinion is that he’s bad for kids. Andrew ramps things up, serving only himself in legal fees, and seemingly has no sight of the child at the core of the dispute. Thus, districts are paying taxpayer dollars to Andrew’s attitude rather than to children’s services. I didn’t find Andrew to be incredibly honest, the opposite in my experiences. I also noted that Andrew focused quite a lot (perhaps exclusively) on extraneous things that did not serve the child or resolution but designed to malign the student and/or their family. Unfortunately, I also witnessed harmful tactics. I would hope school districts would partner with solution oriented, student centered firms who can advance mutual interests and needs, support children, and save taxpayer dollars. I did not feel like this was the case with Andrew and Thompson Horton.

I am surprised by the review noted above.
My experience with Mr. Nelson was completely the opposite. I hired Mr. Nelson for an employment plaintiff matter. I don't think he is qualified for this when facing an opposing party that poses any level of sophistication and/or any vigor.
In a mediation, the counter-party came up with a material point that through us both for a curveball. This mediation took place in August. I asked Mr. Nelson multiple times to research this legal matter and though he said he would, he never did.
Finally after dismissing Mr. Nelson in late November I did my own research and discovered that the counter argument that the other side used was NOT material (I spoke with other attorneys to determine this as well). If Mr. Nelson would have researched this matter, it would have shifted the case and put us in a more aggressive stance. Yet we were put in a defensive stance. Paying $375/hr for an attorney who performs in this manner is not appropriate in my opinion.
As per our contract, Mr. Nelson was supposed to provide me monthly invoices. He did no such thing and every time I asked for them, he said he would get to it. When I repeatedly expressed my concern for the impending costs of Mr. Nelson's legal services, he said "dont worry about it." Yet, after I terminated Mr. Nelson he gave me a bill for $11K.
In regards to professionalism, I would not consider meeting a client at his office in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt to be professional. I also think representing me during a deposition and doing a crossword puzzle in front of opposing counsel is not professional behavior either.
I am not trying to fudge Mr. Nelson's name as I am sure he has done good work in the past, but based on my experience I would not recommend Mr. Nelson especially for the amount that he charges.

This attorney is the most professional individual I have ever done business with. He's defended me in a frivolous HOA lawsuit alleging "defamation of character of a board member". (the board uses HOA funds to sue me). He is so professional that I went back to him because he previously worked on a past employment dispute. He is calm, even tempered, and kind inside the courtroom and out. Moreover, he sticks to truth, facts and the law.

Terrible experience. RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK! Impossible to reach Lisa once you pay. She doesn't return phone calls or emails and you can't reach her office either because the part time assistant also doesn't answer the calls. She operates a part time business/office, never communicates with clients in a timely manner. I actually spent over a month trying to reach her. She gives no notice about court or due dates. She told me one day in advance that we had a court date. I was handed my divorce decree and asked to 'hurry up and sign it' - luckily I took the time to read the decree because Lisa Thiele did not or she was trying to get me to sign it because she know it had a bunch of wrong and damaging info in the decree that I had never agreed to. It had so many errors that it had to be redone a number of times. It is still not correct. Lisa did not read the decree, but tried to get me to sign it. Imagine that kind of legal representation! It has been a terrible experience and Lisa Thiele provided no representation. She does not protect or represent you. I wish I had read some of her reviews before hiring her because I see many people have had the same horrible experiences with this attorney.

I shopped around for lawyers for months before finally deciding on hiring Lisa... I was going through some tough times with my ex not paying his child support for over a year and the kids coming home every other weekend complaining that they were having to sleep at random places because their father was too drunk to even walk. I gave my last penny to Lisa hoping that she could help me with my situation for the safety and best interest of my children and she just took off with my money. She was so easy to talk to and her secretary praised her at how good and compassionate she was.., nothing but lies. Once I handed over payment there was excuse after excuse on why my ex couldn't be served ( papers weren't ready, he couldn't be found, etc. ) and then her office stopped answering my calls and emails completely. The last couple of times I called the office someone actually picked up and hung up on me. My ex hired a lawyer to modify his payments down to the minimum allowed and his lawyer had me served and in court in 3 months! I am going on a year with nothing... Now I'm looking for ways to report her and her office. I beg anyone that needs help to please not use her... One of the worst mistakes I made was trusting her and her office to help me when I needed them the most.

Don't deal with this firm. I was impressed with the way they held my hand and helped me get my case approved 15 years ago. I made a mistake by giving them the job of applying H1B for my employee. I had practically everything. The staff is very rude. Jerry Zhang is not even in USA. We had to call several times to get the job done. He should be paying money to us. They just send you a DIY template and we have to work on it. They don't offer any help. They are in the business of just charging money. Don't waste your time by dealing with them. I am a successful businessman take my advise. I've seen how success has hit this company. They don't care for customers any more like they used to. They offer "0" support and no customer service plus they are all very rude. The attorney I was dealing with yelled at me several times. Their team is in China, they just outsource everything.

His license should be revoked for malpractice. I contacted State Bar of Texas a few times. Money is the root of all evil, and I pray people like this God will handle. To many times he avoided me, over the years, a case by default judgement and he said he never collected.There was a Lien placed on the property so they wouldn't sell unless we got paid, but guess what ? I did my own research and someone got paid because the apt. Complex was sold, and the Harris Cnty records ,show that my case was paid, but never received a penny. Don't waste your time.

I retained Attorney Justin L Writt to represent us with a simple name change. After three misguided directives from Atty. Writt I was finally advised of a court date of 1/25/13 at the 247th District Court @ 9am. Atty. Writt was 40 minutes late. Upon entering the court room, he went directly to the clerk's desk and held a five minute conversation. He approached me and motioned for me to step out of courtroom. He proceeded to explain that the clerk failed to add my case to the docket. I questioned how he was notified about the date and he said he received a phone call. Having knowledge of court proceedings, just receiving a call was not customary. I called my Estate Planning Attorney who advised me to request a copy of the Notice of Publication, required to be filed as public notice and proof of submission to the court. His first response was to inquire what that was. He then stated it was in at his office and we could get a copy of the entire file. I arrived at his office prior to him and was greeted with profanity and abusive language by Atty. R L Manor who was speaking to someone on the phone. When he noticed I was in the office, he asked "How you doin' ?" To which I replied "offended" Atty. Manor proceeded to explain that someone was talking bad about his wife and he didn't take that. He then stated "this is my house and my receptionist should have informed him they had company". I was seated in his front office. As I continued to wait for Atty. Writt to supply the proof if filing, I could hear a discussion going on between both attorneys regarding my request for the Proof of Publication document. Finally after having waited nearly an hour, the receptionist handed me an envelope with documents dated prior to October 2012. Atty. Writt refused to come discuss why there was no document confirming his submission of the Notice of Publication. Instead, I heard Atty. Manor state "I'll tell her'" in a manner that suggested Atty. Writt was avoiding me. At which point Atty. Manor approached me stating that I would need to make an appointment for the following week to discuss the missing document. His tone was aggressive and his body language threatening. When asked why Atty. Writt would not come speak with me, Atty. Manor became belligerent and said "I told you, make an appointment!" and he proceeded to show me the door. When I advised Atty. Manor that I would be contacting another attorney and the Bar Association, he challenged me by stating "go ahead, if you really have one." We retained Atty. Writt for a simple name change preceding. It was emotionally devastating to have been failed by him as a result of his incompetence. But to have been verbally assaulted by his partner while Atty. Writt was able to hear the entire exchange was disheartening. We later confirmed with the court clerk that there was never an actual court date assigned because of his failure to remit the required documents.
What both of these attorneys are ignorant to is the fact that I really do have outside legal representation, who is very experienced with filings with the Attorney General's office, the BBB and the Bar Association.

Never responds to your phone calls.... Told me that ALR was not any importance... Didn't take any consideration that the ALR hearing was a chance to cross examine the officer... Nobody knows him, not the judge or even other criminal attorneys... When I asked him about my case... he needed to consult with other attorneys to provide an answer.

Mr. Sherman is a ghost I hired him for a car accident case and I have yet to meet him. My case has been going for 7 months not once has he contacted me to let me know what is going on. I constantly call the law office and get the same person i guess his assistant Apollo who is as helpful as a wet dishrag. He never knows where Mr. Sherman is and they never check their voicemail as the mailbox is always full. My case is finally settled and I have to now share money with them and their bootleg chiropractor for services that were not beneficial to me. They are only looking out to assist themselves. If I would have known better. I would have just talked to the person's insurance company on my own. This was a waste of my time and they still have not given me my settlement amount although the insurance company has sent them a check. I will NEVER WORK WITH THIS MAN AGAIN!!!! BEWARE!!!!

I wish I'd never spoken to Mr. Barrett. He was quite personable on the phone. We had some nice, very brief chats, but when he wants to disappear, he WILL disappear. I went ~42 days with nothing which would be absolutely fine but you have to manage expectations, and not say 4 days then go 42. Bizarre. Oh and he never withdrew from my case. The case continued and the entire process was a nightmare. I’m still baffled.

Retained Kenneth Royce Barrett after the initial consultation to ensure it was understood in that the rodent infestation I was dealing with inside apartment dwelling was clearly conveyed to property management; however, property management ignored the problem and failed to provide exterminating services despite monthly reminders for six months after infestation compounded exponentially. Served with eviction notice, sought an attorney and foolishly relied on the Peer Review provided to this attorney during selection process. Suddenly, Barrett increased retainer from $450/2 hours to $1,000/4 hours. After retainer was remitted, he immediately came back to me concerned in that level of case perceived difficulty had increased though no changes resulted to warrant any concerns for any increases in case perceived difficulties. This implied Barrett was forewarning of the potential need for additional funding. I decided to instead to negotiate an Exit Strategy with property management myself and did given I’d already relinquished $1.0K to Barrett for essentially no reason. Informed Barrett who then advised to not let property know of move out intentions in writing. Then he became unreachable. Three weeks later I requested my residual retainer be refunded on two different days before he responded with having had Covid and was behind on record keeping tasks but would resolve following week. This did NOT happen. Four months later I contact him again to learn he’s suffered another bout with Covid and remains behind on work tasks. He then tells me he advised me to remain in my previous apartment. Another lie. So I investigate to learn he has a reputation for being dishonest. Another month passes, seven months after initial retainer paid, request formal contact information for litigation purposes and receive nothing. As 100% Disabled American Veteran unable to work, trusting this person created a financial hardship I continue to struggle with present day given the unexpected relocation expenses and non-refunded retainer in part or in whole.

Reneka and Kary Gregg were put on my case last minute and did not do anything they were ordered to do by the courts in Montgomery County. I would highly recommend finding a different attorney as this entire law firm is a joke. Don't read and believe their reviews. they literally pay employees to put good reviews on there site to make them look better. Run as fast as you can.

Ms. Hayes was assigned to my case last minute by Bryan Fagan Law Firm, after my attorney resigned days before my trial. She was totally unprepared, unassertive, and lacked any evidence of properly preparing for my trial. As a disabled veteran on social security, I am still questioning how is it that I was billed over $10,000.00 for what amounted to horrible legal representation.

The receptionist are extremely rude and never return calls back. I hired this lawyer to take care of my divorce and the process alone was very stressful, hiring this law firm/lawyer was a big mistake. I had questions and felt very unsure and worried throughout the whole process and They just made it seem like it was all under control when in the end I didn't get what I wanted! They made it seem like it was my fault for not speaking up! I was willing to pay for sessions to speak with the lawyer! I understand I am not the only customer they have but I am paying for your service and should be treated like I'm important and matter!

I feel like I donated $1,300 to Mr. Mamasis. I hired him to do my will and trust documents. I should have researched him before I hired him, but he came highly referred by a good friend who was referred to him by the Wealth Management Officer at her bank. With those two respected recommendations I thought he had to be good. WRONG.
My trust documents had someone else's name on them, the executors and trustees were incorrect. The county where I live was incorrect and he even had the documents to be filed in RHODE ISLAND, when I live in TEXAS. After asking him to make the necessary corrects more than 10 times, including me going through each document marking errors and circling them and scanning PDF files back to him. He still couldn't get it right. I was so frustrated, wills and trusts are not rocket science. I spent so many hours texting, emailing and calling him that I finally just gave up with all the errors I found. I couldn't trust his work. So I started over with a new attorney. Don’t waste your Money with him.
