Look, no one wants to find a lawyer. It is not awesome, and doing it, well, is daunting for those of us who aren't really accustomed to "legal" stuff.
That said, I found myself in that spot. I connected with Greg Kirschenbaum, and he really changed my mind about lawyers (on most things). He was personable, as he took the time to listen and understand the annoying details of the situation and the nuances and things that I cared about. He represented my interests well and kept me informed and comfortable with the process and events. I don't have anything bad to say about my time as a client with Greg; it was quite the opposite. If, and I doubt it, but if I find myself in that situation again, or something akin, I would call Greg before anyone I know or could look up.

My divorce lasted approximately a year and was extremely challenging at times. However, I have to say that my attorney Katrina handled me with care and compassion throughout the experience. Her conduct along with that of the firm was very professional throughout.
Although I hope to never again need their services :), I would highly recommend hiring this firm.

I was very happy with my experience at FFLS. My now Ex and I went through Mediation with Laura and I was impressed by how simple and logical she made the process. All communications were timely, all instructions were clear and she really helped make what could have been a very difficult situation much easier by being great to work with.
I was so happy with the work she did to help us through the mediation process that I actually went back to the firm to help me with another separate civil matter. Once again, I was extremely satisfied with the representation I received. The case was not an easy one, and it took a lot of communication and coordination, but the quality of the attorneys (I worked with two including Laura) and staff at FFLS lead to a positive outcome.

Going into my domestic violence/divorce case, I knew it was going to be difficult. I had tried to leave before, but would feel scared and powerless trying to navigate the complicated family court system with previous attorneys. I found Katherine through a friend's recommendation when I needed to divorce my addict/abusive now-ex husband. I could not have been happier with the outcome and how she handled my case. Carolann Aschoff was my attorney in my recently completed divorce. Although my divorce was extremely amicable and my ex-wife and I had pretty much decided and agreed on everything prior to the papers even being filed I felt the need to have an attorney review our property settlement agreement to ensure that I was protected and I chose Ms. Aschoff. Ms. Aschoff was extremely knowledgeable and ensured that I was protected in all aspects of my divorce. Additionally, she was extremely patient with me regarding all the questions that I had during the process and explained everything to me in a way that was easily understandable while making me feel comfortable with the decisions that I had to make throughout the process.

As a young woman, I knew very little about the judicial system. Melissa represented me in TWO cases one about child custody and a separate one about a domestic abuse case. I came on here 6 months ago confused, hurt, and looking for help when my husband who walked out on us 3 months prior filed for custody of the children. My husband was abusive verbally, emotionally, and physically but I unfortunately had very very little proof. He is extremely narcissistic, and I honestly never thought I could escape him, even after his leaving he continued to haunt me by trying to snatch the kids I worked so hard to protect from him just to hurt me (knowing this is my weak point) to make matter harder, I couldn't file for divorce because of religion, which he knew exactly how to use against me. I am saying all this just to show how completed this case was, but Sarah Jennifer Jacobs (with JacobsBerger in Morristown) was GOD SENT. And that's even an understatement. I came to her with my case and she was extremely understanding, empathetic, and knowledgeable. She took so much time studying my case and religion as to be prepared for this case. She answered emails regularly and promptly herself, even on holidays. Made sure I was comfortable with every step she took, stayed super late to make sure my papers that were submitted were to my liking, and even the day of trial, asked me to do the zoom from her office (so I feel more confident) and offered to get me lunch. She's a true human with a soul and not a money thirsty lawyer that just wanted to prolong my case so she can keep earning. She faced a "NJ top lawyer" that specializes in fathers rights, and she didn't even stand a chance against Sarah. She was strategic, knowledgeable, prepared, and have a hell of an oral argument that made the judge see right through the myriads of lies and fake evidence my husband had against me (because ofcourse he wouldn't settle and wanted to take it to the judge). She was able to capture 17 years worth of incidences in a precise written statement that made me cry reading it, because it was as she lived it with me. can't possibly say enough about this amazing lawyer and human. I honestly hugged her after the trial as if she was my angel that gave my kids back. I promise I am not exaggerating here, if you've even dealt with narcissistic, you know how horrific that experience is, and to have a lawyer that as good as Sarah, made this almost easy.

Like any divorce, it's never easy. You win some, and you lose some... but ultimately, in divorce, everyone loses. When you have an attorney, that is kind hearted, genuine, and that has good morals, it makes the process easier. There were times, and are still times that I call just to vent... Not being savvy in NJ alimony laws, I found Samantha extremely helpful. I felt very confident in her knowledge and advice. In my situation, requests to enter into an agreement incorrect under NJ law were presented to me. She guided me on how to proceed and offered me the legally correct information to communicate both knowledgeably and skillfully with my former spouse. Samantha did her best to resolve a case involving dealing with very difficult people on the defendant’s side, who were doing everything possible to stall the case by any means necessary. While attorneys on both sides are supposed to work to resolve the problem, this wasn’t the case. Samantha has to do all the work by herself while dealing with terrible people on the defender’s side. She is highly astute, hardworking lawyer at the rise of her carrier and eventually will be running the company she works for now or her own firm.
I only regret that the firm she was working for(even though they warned me that annulment would be much harder to achieve than regular divorce) did not push harder to explain to me that it will cost me x3 - x6 times more if I pursued that option, which I did, and lost a lot of money, just to get a regular divorce at the end anyway because the costs kept rising and I said “enough” when I paid over $30,000 and the case was far from resolved... If I knew that from the very beginning, I would never pursue the annulment scenario and would’ve saved a ton of money by doing simple divorce. But it was in no way Samantha’s fault as “the client is always right” and I did say that I wanted annulment from the very beginning... Again, my only regret is that I wish the firm would try much harder to dissuade me from taking this very expensive route in my case, but since it meant much more money to the firm, I can understand why they did not push hard enough to tell me about much greater costs.
Again, it has nothing to do with the high quality work Samantha did during the case, as she is an excellent lawyer. And if her superiors at the firm, told her not to push hard against me changing to a simpler divorce case instead of annulment, she had to follow the company’s orders. And I give her overall work an excellent rating, as she was kind, professional, supportive, cared about the best outcome of the case for me and accomplished that very best outcome. A+ for Samantha.

I walked into Sylvia's office a broken, beaten down woman.
My case was a complicated one.
I had met with many attorneys in the area and not one made me feel as much at ease as Sylvia.

Matt handled my divorce proceedings simply and efficiently. He thoroughly and promptly answered my many questions, made all requested modifications to the agreements, and communicated with my ex and all officials so that I didn't have to. The filing and court procedures changed significantly during the pandemic, but Matt took care of everything without issue. I had been dealing with a prolonged mediated divorce process that was nearing 3 years when Sandy came on and took my case (following the retirement of my previous attorney - yes it took THAT long lol). My divorce was not an easy one by any means. The other party did not want to be a participate in the process that she initiated, be fair financially, and was in character throughout the two and half yr process. Veronica weeded through this from minute one.
Veronica jumped on board in my case more than halfway through the process from the recommendation of my previous attorney to get my case resolved. There is a reason he recommended her. Veronica was forceful and stern during the negotiations(mediation) with the other party and was always looking out for my best interests financially which included doing everything possible from the first day I spoke to her to avoid trial which is where my case was headed. Ms. Hunnell and her staff were supportive and professional in assisting me with my particular situation which was filled with uncertainty and stress.
