After firing my first TWO LAWYERS, I was finally relieved to have found Natalia. I had just escaped an abusive relationship and my ex decided he wanted to sue me for custody of our 1 yr old son.. (Even though he never showed any interest in being a father until I got the courage to leave him) He was incredibly skilled at playing the victim and I needed someone who was able to not only recognize this but to have the ability to present the truth to the judge. From our first consultation, I knew I finally found the right representation with Natalia. She was incredibly intelligent, attentive and perceptive. She helped me to navigate this nightmare with such professionalism and tenacity. After 2 1/2 years of litigation, the judge in fact saw that my ex dragged me to court under “self serving” purposes and awarded me Sole Legal AND Physical custody with permission to relocate out of state. This was a complex case and if not for Natalia’s wisdom and expertise, not to mention compassion, I don’t know where my son and I would be today. Lawyers are a dime a dozen but very few actually CARE about their clients. This is definitely what sets Natalia apart from all the rest. I highly recommend her if you find yourself in a contentious custody and/or divorce case. She will keep you grounded, focused and empowered with knowledge of applicable state laws.

I am amazed at the results Pryor Cashman has achieved - some of the cases you hear about in the news lately, the clients who won their case, those were clients of Pryor Cashman. In terms of business deals, Richard C. Leska is great to work with and he has about 30 years experience so I would recommend any M & A work or corporate deals ask for Rich Leska. Sean O Hara has no business in law, came off nice, seemingly, except he contradicted himself several times. Claiming he never heard from the company, but knew where they sent my w-2…Did nothing for nine months and when I gave him crucial information he tried to get money, completely unaware that I had another attorney related to this case. His terrible work caused me to go through their employees and that’s a no for me dog, all white men. Fired and replaced. Don’t waste your time, not my first rodeo, but apparently his. Mind you the case was easy, pictures, text messages and he blew it, lazy, lazy, lazy. Easily the most important client you’ll ever have too.

I received a burn while dining out, it hurt for sure and I knew I needed medical attention. I also knew that I needed a lawyer. I called a few but it was a Sunday so I left voicemails. John Bailey called me that Monday, I never received a called from the other lawyers. After talking with him I knew he took my incident serious and quickly an agreement was reached with the restaurant representatives for compensation. I am very happy with the outcome. I hired Mr. Whiteman as counsel for my divorce case. From the onset of our working relationship, he was very professional, highly knowledgeable and a great advisor to a case that was made complicated as a result of the opposing party (my former husband). On numerous occasions, we needed to show firmness in our stance with the opposing party and Mr Whiteman was a strong advocate fighting for my rights consistently and fairly, yet still maintained the case as amicable as possible to avoid further legal complications and settle out of court. Mr Whiteman was very responsive to any questions or issues I had during the case, and explained thoroughly each step of the way. We consulted with Brian after being told by another Lawyer Grandparent Visitation is never awarded in our circumstance, and not to waste our time and money. Brian gave us suggestions on things to try with our son and daughter in law to resolve the issues before a petition was filed. We did retain Brian and at that time he was confident we would get time with our grandson. We did go to trial and Brian was excellent all the way through. He responds to calls and emails and provides answers very quickly He is very thorough and meticulous. We were awarded visitation with our grandson beginning in August and actually received more time than we expected. Everything Brian does is for a reason and to help your case so listen to the expert! He is very delicate with family situations and keeps things as kind and calm as possible.

i was referred to Mrs Alomar by a friend of a friend. The first time i spoke with her i literally cried as i had to relive what my 13yr old daughter was going through with her Mom who she was living with. Mrs Alomar offered many suggestions as i initially was trying to avoid court and work with a mediator to have custody switched. Despite my request Karina made it clear that court would be necessary but she would first try it "my way" only to appease me. Karina was right, it did not work, court was necessary. We went through no fewer than 6 court appearances over the course of 6 months when i was finally granted custody of my daughter. Karina was great, she pulled no punches and even put me in my place on many occasions when it was necessary. Despite the circumstances, i am glad i had the opportunity to meet Karina, she is a wonderful attorney and a great person. Words cannot express how thankful we are.....

Ira knows the law and he also understands the numbers. My divorce involved some complex valuation and tax issues. I never considered writing a negative review until my experience with Van Horn & Friedman, P.C. (“VH&F”). However, I feel compelled to share my story. I retained Alissa to file a petition (for privacy reasons I will not disclose the type) and to represent me throughout the associated court proceedings. Immediately upon learning of the situation, Alissa could not understand why a petition had not previously been filed. When I explained to her that I was told by the local police department that the person was too old, she said that the police do not know the law—she does. Regrettably, I retained her services.
To my dismay, I soon learned that the local police department knew what they were talking about; Alissa did not. I believe that VH&F eventually found out shortly after Alissa was unable to file the petition. However, the only response I received when inquiring about the situation was “red tape” and “you have a judge that cares.” Not acceptable explanations coming from a firm you are paying $500.00 an hour to represent you, especially considering that the judge does not have the authority to circumvent the system. I asked at least three (3) times and always received the same responses. Laughably, I was asked by a managing partner at VH&F if I was an attorney. I am not, I just don’t enjoy being taken advantage of.
I believe that VH&F’s hourly rate is way overpriced. Moreover, their retainer agreement provides for billing in fifteen (15) minute increments. My bill ran up very quickly because of sending/receiving correspondence. The problem is that Alissa was recommending services I had already tried unsuccessfully and were not related to the petition. As such, I found myself paying VH&F to explain to them that their recommendations were not appropriate for my situation after previously providing that history to her.
My takeaway: Don’t expect to receive a good product just because a business charges more than their competitors and be wary of someone’s overconfidence!

Had the pleasure of speaking with Michael about a potential pre-nuptial with a few layers that most lawyers dont come across.
