It’s a job at the end of the day to most. If Aaron Shapiro or the force that is Amanda Schaffer takes your case, TRUST THEM. Full disclosure: I am a nightmare client. On a scale from 1-10, I’m an 11 in terms of annoying. My son is my absolute world. I have been a “white pony” more times than you can imagine. Over-billed. None of it made sense. Those attorneys cared about a paycheck. Aaron and Amanda are not only EXCELLENT attorneys, they’re good people. They have a backbone. Their time is valuable. They’re not cheap. Know that. I can’t say Thank You enough to this law firm and Eric Winnert! We live approximately 5 hours from the office and Eric came to our home to get the much needed paperwork signed by my very ill spouse for a mesothelioma law suit. Poor man had to drive through the snow belt in February just to make sure we got what was needed before anything happened. Whenever I have questions and need to contact him, he is always there to give me answers. He has walked me step by step through every part of the process as my spouse was terminal and passed. Even when I haven’t bothered him in awhile, he will shoot me a text with any needed updates on our case! He’s very caring, empathetic , and personable with his clients and their family! No matter what we threw at him he always had a smile and a chuckle while maintaining his professionalism! Not sure why, but right from the start Beth seem annoyed and unwilling to listen to the specifics of
my divorce. She suggested that I move out because abandonment doesn’t exist anymore and that I should start preparing for a huge child support payment that is inevitable and mandatory, and that my prenuptial agreement was worthless and unenforceable after 6 years of marriage. She told me that regardless of the circumstances my ex-wife will get custody and to prepare myself for that. She certainly didn’t feel like she was helping me, more like she was trying to do a little as possible to get through the case, or even make it easier for my ex to get the judgements she wants. 3 other lawyers told me very different things in their consultations. I hired a different lawyer.

I wish there was a 6th star to add to this review for Mr. Peter Groffmann. NOT ONLY is he an amazing attorney, but he is a kind human. Mr. Groffman has handled two traffic incidents for me, both were frivolous attempts at a money grab against a driver who in 30 years of driving hasn't had so much as parking ticket. Mr. Groffman recognized this, saw the flaws in these tickets and followed through to get them reduced and/or dismissed. He is EXCELLENT.
HOWEVER, I know that fighting tickets isn't all he does. The firm specializes in Estate planning & administration and I can only imagine that he is PHENOMINAL at that as well.
I know this because when you are talking to him, it's like talking to an actual human being. Peter is a kind person, he doesn't talk down to you, and although his knowledge of the law of course FAR supercedes the client, he listens in a way that is compassionate and caring.
Once I have the time, he will be my go to for estate planning, which I imagine can be a delicate and sensitive topic to discuss.
Heck, I can only imagine that sharing your final wishes with an attorney can be an emotional thing to do. You are literally discussing your choices to be carried out after death with a stranger. I KNOW in my heart that Mr. Groffmann handles each client with kindness & a warm heart, because that's who he is. And although I can't speak personally about his estate planning skills as an attorney b/c that would be disengenious, I can tell you that when you step in a room with him, or even speak on the phone, you just know you're in good hands. I think it takes about 10 seconds to recognize a good human being, and it may even take less once you meet Peter.
DO NOT HESITATE if you're selecting your attorney for this delicate matter, to call him. I don't know what other legal services his office covers, but I can guarantee you that if you put your trust and faith in Mr. Groffmann's hands, you will not be disappointed. Thats a 6 star guarantee.
Thanks Peter! You are truly an amazing attorney & dare I say, an even better human. Which if anyone has had experience with other attorneys, you cannot always hold both their ability AND their character as equally high, but with Mr. Groffmann you certainly can give him 6 stars for both.

Dear Joseph Sullivan, I am truly disappointed in your representation in our Father's claim. It's been 14 years since your firm has had our Father's claim. Our father has been deceased for years. We ask for updates but you have refused to speak to us. It's been 2 years since we heard from you. Our Father may not be a priority to you but he is definitely a priority to us. I'm very disappointed we really expected more from your firm. 14 years to process a claim is unheard of. And we still waiting. This is truly disgraceful. Dear Joseph Sullivan, I am truly disappointed in your representation in our Father's claim. It's been 14 years since your firm has had our Father's claim. Our father has been deceased for years. We ask for updates but you have refused to speak to us. It's been 2 years since we heard from you. Our Father may not be a priority to you but he is definitely a priority to us. Kristen Farris did an Outstanding job representing me when I needed to make a detrimental change to my existing Child Custody Order in Family Court, which involved a lot time pressing and sensitive issues. I hired this law firm to represent me in my divorce. Initially, they gave me the impression that they were sincere. I paid a total of $7,000 and all they did was to purchase an index number in the court and serve my husband with a summons but the summons was never filed with the court. The $7,000 was used up in phone calls and then they kept asking for more money. I terminated the contract with them. I realized that they are all about money and that they have no integrity.

I believe a higher power directed me into the hands of Jennifer Lippmann as I was a naive, innocent 30 year old woman who had never seen a courtroom or even knew their were people aka lawyers that could not only “win” your case but essential to getting your life back on track. I was so naive that a lawyer was a lawyer…. If I had done nothing wrong and had nothing to hide , I shouldn’t have to search high and low for a way out of my short lived, highly volatile marriage. Thank god the first lawyer I called who I found via Google search bar by entering “lawyers near me” didn’t just see dollar signs or a new case, she heard my voice, listened to my story and honestly told me she she wasn’t the type of lawyer my situation needed, and kindly referred me to Powers Law specifically Jennifer Lippmann. I was a little confused but grateful for any guidance. The day I called Powers Law was when I decided to also Google 2020 cheating apps and downloaded about 6, finding my husband by his cell phone number on every one. I’d known for months something was different and wrong but couldn’t get an answer. After I messaged him on one, he came home from work early, entered our apartment, grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt and left without a word. I was working remotely and we had a 6 month old son. I remember being so confused because I didn’t even flip out like I should have. I actually said their is obviously your unhappy with, let’s try therapy but he told me I was a “mentally ill, drug addict” and he never wanted me to begin with. I remember I transferred like $400 of our money into a savings account because he had previously kept his paycheck from our account when we’d get into an argument knowing I’d have no choice but to forgive him when we had no money. He told me I stole money from him and I would be penalized when the time came. I called the number of the lawyer i was referred to and I’ll never forget getting a man (John Powers) who spoke to me for 30 minutes reassuring me I absolutely did not steal money, it was our own account and I remember him saying “if he is already pulling this crap, I assure you that you have called the right place” and informed me on important decisions i should immediately make for my safety and my childs & arranged an appointment with Jen a few days later. Ironically that weekend after I met her , I had to call 911 over a domestic incident and before i was even a client John has called me back as did Jen who specified how important it was that I take my child and myself and I go to my parents (which I naively thought was illegal) because of the threats and fears my husband had filled my head with. Once I had this team on my side, my life slowly turned around and in the beginning it felt like my life would never be okay again. Their were accusations of my husband leaving our child in an unattended car for an unsafe period of time, women sneaking into our apartment while I was in the hospital after a car accident, almost a dozen verbal and domestic incidents and even a CPS investigation. I remember feeling so helpless at one point, I just wanted to give him what he wanted to stop the torture but that would mean my son and that was not an option. Jen has been a powerhouse of strength, smarts and just human morality within such a tumultuous series of events. Today, although my case isn’t over I can tell you my husband has zero control over my life when a year ago he controlled the whole thing. She has put safety measures into place and been the voice i didnt have for myself, but grew when my son was born. She knows every answer to every question the judge asks and it’s exactly how I would respond. She doesn’t just people please me through my case but is honest and fair and i am never surprised with any outcome because of this. To give some background, my case involved – international divorce, kidnapping and international child custody. My priority had been to keep the family together at all personal cost and abuse. The sheer risk of the collateral damage if I were to speak out and take a stand seemed unbearable to me in terms of breaking the family, the trauma and debilitating effect it would bring to my kids. I had been going thru domestic abuse (I am a male) and had almost given hope that from history and precedents known to me made me believe that if I sought legal help it would be only be one way.
With encouragement from family and friends when I eventually set out to seek legal counsel most attorneys seem to have an experimental take on the situation, it would be a learning exercise for them with me as a guinea pig. Some jumped up with a very high retainer promising to get my kids in an unbelievably quick time. They were simplifying the process for me, hiding the details and fine prints that I would have to deal with anyway.
My case took over two years and I know a lot better now. Mr. Morley was my legal guide and in ways served as a therapist. He helped me on a day to day operational level when my case became very intense and at the more strategic level when I had to travel outside US to countries which were not part of the Hague convention. Mr. Morley’s network helped me connect to the right people in different parts of the world who helped me fight the custody battle from within US and from outside.
From the very beginning of the case, he had an overall strategy that gave me the courage to stand up and keep going. I have interacted with many lawyers related to my situation now. There are times we need a specialist's consultation and times we need a good referral and sometimes we may need to park ourselves and the case in the ICU. Mr. Morley helped to provide for all of these situations and his support and guidance was invaluable – in fact it spoiled my expectations when dealing with other lawyers.
Before I obtained the custody order my spouse slipped to another state with the child. With Mr. Morley's help I was able to chase her address and track my child and put her on the prevent departure program. It took a little over two years for my affairs to settle and to be able to restart life but these tiny victories helped in a long way, making me keep going.

Jeremy has been my lawyer for over 2 1/2 years. I read a previous comment about him overbilling and not being prepared and felt compelled to comment. I had an extremely difficult and complex case (and no, I am not wealthy parent). Jeremy has always been very honest in his billing with me and forthcoming and he was actually very reasonable compared to other lawyers I had to hire who charged me twice as much. He put together a game plan for me in my family custody issues/planning and today I would not be raising my child in a healthy environment had it not been for his counsel (gosh I may not even have my child with me). He is extremely competent and professional and if you hire him, you will have a formidable team for the other side to reckon with. To me, investing in my family like this was priceless and I cannot recommend him enough. And he is not the cheapest lawyer because he is the best in the world (he is considered an expert by all the US courts) at what he does and I would definitely say he is the best in the US too for family law in this area, and you get what you pay for. If you follow his advice, you will probably win.

Ok- consider this a ‘word of mouth’ recommendation: I received Ms. Aiello’s Name from another top-level attorney (who does not do family/divorce law)
- I stopped mediation immediately as she saved me thousands of dollars for knowing what’s realistic and respectful to the other “aide”
- she uses calm knowledge to counsel instead of emotional demands
- she was outstanding in negotiating the final agreement
- she knows the processes and systems well and doesn’t cut corners or some such silly things
- she is highly (!) respected by the judges from what I saw and heard about her
- remember when you engage and hire an attorney it’s a two way street: if you or the other side is not reasonable and reapectful - How can you expect a favorable outcome? Sounds like common sense but I have seen people trying to do a ‘“show of force -let alone ‘retribution’ “ - and everyone loses then.
- Ms. Aiello is super transparent, knowledgeable and her team is equally professional - never heard any excuses - like other offices I have witnessed.

Kimberly nelson is an excellent divorce attorney. I originally hired her in 2012 at the start of a very gruelling and complicated divorce.
