I retained Nick Lancaster when my ex-husband filed for divorce. The case was complicated off the bat because of jurisdictional issues (I moved to Texas with my infant daughter but my ex-husband filed for divorce in Tennessee). Nick helped me understand the UCCJEA and always did a thorough job of explaining legalities in layman's terms.
My divorce/custody case was a legal rollercoaster. Nick was there for me every step of the way. At one point he wrote a compelling motion for modification of a temporary parenting plan that outlined the key points of my case.
When I read the final document, it was clear that Nick understood my struggle on a personal level and was able to translate that appropriately into a legal document. Reading that motion was incredibly vindicating.
Nick was a strong advocate for me as a single mother as I went through a nasty divorce. He used the utmost discretion, but wasn't afraid to go on the offensive when it truly became warranted. Once my ex's behavior warranted the compelling motion I mentioned above, Nick went for the jugular. He won my case as a result. I was awarded primary custody of my daughter & received a favorable settlement from the divorce.
In conclusion, Nick absolutely went above and beyond for me as a client. Nick is a great lawyer, but he's also a good person. He has strong morals. You don't find many lawyers like that--he's a rare breed. I could not recommend him enough.

Nice place, however would not recommend Kourtney Simmons as a point of contact for an attorney. I experienced her as very quick tempered. Talks more than she listens and gets flustered easily during problem- solving - resolution tasks. I also don’t appreciate her openly discussing the matter in the lobby area of the firm instead of in her office when she got frustrated . Her voice began to rise first , and her facial expressions were flustered . Meaning, everyone in the office heard her and heard us . Not client confidential at all .
I believe if she could be more empathic in nature , and patient she could assist clients better with the needs of all parties involved , which could strengthen her reputation for the brand of this office .
Maybe it was due to her busy schedule so she wanted quick - cut - paid - deal when I finally got to see her, bringing my dad .
There was a misunderstanding - and instead of using critical thinking skills , to identify the root , she immediately jumped into defense .
I have an elderly father with 2 strokes, I already communicated that to her , a little slow in understanding , and she tried to spin my questions of clarity into coercion .
Other than that, I believe the staff are quite friendly and are awesome at following up and scheduling .
I hope in the future Kourtney can treat all of her clients with disabilities and non disabilities , black or white , young or old the same care as it’s given in previous reviews .

Let me say first and foremost that this evaluation is based upon my interactions during and immediately after a consultation. That said, to be specific I had a consultation with staff attorney, Johnathan Miley where we discussed my matter, as well as the sense of urgency because time was of the essence.
He advised me that he would review my file and get back to me in two days with his charges for a retainer to handle my case. Two days came and went plus a weekend and so I followed up and asked for him to contact me ASAP as he indicated and convey the information discussed.
The end of business has come and has passed and he, nor anyone from his firm have responded to simply convey information he said he would provide a couple of days ago. For that reason solely I have assigned the rating I assigned.

I had a unique case in that my divorce filing was was over eight years old, along with the added compounding difficulty of working overseas as a military contractor. The distance, time away, and time zone differences were definitely challenging. I felt that I received excellent counsel from Martin from what to expect and what would be involved. Martin and his entire staff provided timely updates and rapidly responded to my enquiries and questions. On the day of mediation I felt well-prepared, well represented and was very satisfied with the eventual outcome.
Law services are never inexpensive, but cost is only one measure of value, especially when considering the possible long-term monetary ramifications of a divorce. In that sense, I feel I received excellent value for the cost. This is THE primary focus of his practice, and Martin knows the players involved and the court system around the Nashville area. My elderly father and I met with Mr. Crouse to discuss asset protection. We found out early in our consultation that Mr. Crouse would not be able to help us going forward, because my father lives out of state, and he would need an attorney from his state to draw up the trust.
However, Mr. Crouse still spent over an hour with us, educating us about our options. He explained everything in a way that we could comprehend. He answered all of our questions and really made sure we understood. He could have easily sent us home, but didn’t!
I highly recommend Mr. Crouse. He’s extremely knowledgeable and you can absolutely tell he is passionate about his calling.

I’d like to know where my 1-star review goes every year because, somehow, it has mysteriously disappeared every year since 2018. Much like the integrity and accountability I expected from Mike Parham. If you’re considering hiring him, be prepared for a masterclass in disappointment. Not only did he mishandle my family’s case but the lack of communication and transparency throughout was staggering.
Every time I leave an honest review to warn others, it vanishes — quite the coincidence, don’t you think? If only he worked as hard on his cases as he does on his online reputation. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

I worked with Charlie on two different matters, first a protective order and then later child custody. He was wonderful. He was very informative, and he has a compassionate demeanor and sense of humor that helped reduce the stress of court proceedings. I appreciate the advice he gave during negotiations for child custody and child support. I was planning to push the case to court, but on his advice I came to an agreement. Divorce was not something I wanted. Of course, nothing I ever hoped or planned for. I was hurt, sad and scared of what was to come. And now I had to take the huge task of finding the best divorce attorney in Williamson County. When it was time, I took the recommendation of meeting Will Holloway from one of my dearest friends. Thank goodness she was on point.
I was very direct and organized with Will and he never once let me down. His communication skills were impeccable and timely. His willingness to get what I wanted done in my time frame was met at every way. I never doubted any information or advice he gave me. I always felt he had my best interests at hand with the utmost sincerity and efficiency.
At our final meeting, after the divorce was finalized, Will gave me his final “talk” and it was what I describe as a “pep talk”. His words were kind and insightful. After 21 years of marriage, I found myself in an unwanted divorce. I interviewed a total of five local attorneys in the Franklin area, but knew after my first meeting with Will, he would be the attorney to represent me. You will not find a better attorney who will take the time to understand your individual circumstances and navigate you through potentially one of the most stressful and emotional events of your life, especially when there are children involved. He will give you sound advice and offer a common-sense strategy to get you through the divorce while you’re in the maelstrom of emotions that can cloud your judgement. Will was fully engaged from the beginning to the end. In my particular case, there was an affair involved but instead of making that the central theme, Will directed my focus on the best outcome for my children and me. Vanessa Samano is simply the best there is for child custody cases, specifically high conflict. I would highly recommend Vanessa for any type of divorce or family law case, but specifically if you have a need for representation for Juvenile Court. Vanessa has the relationships with the courts, judges, and other attorneys across East Tennessee. She is highly respected and knows the law, but mostly she cares about the families she represents. I could not have asked for someone who believed in me and my case more. She will be honest, even when it's not what you want to hear. She will encourage you to always do the right thing and to not just check boxes but legitimately follow through.
Vanessa helped me navigate a complex divorce followed by a difficult custody case in which I obtained primary custody. As a single Dad, this was not easy even though the facts were in my favor. My advice, without reservation, is to not just hire Vanessa Samano, but to listen to her and do what she says. If you are not willing to be honest or take responsibility, Vanessa is not for you. However, if you want someone to help you navigate a complex system in an honest but tough and caring way that puts the best interest of children first, then Vanessa is right for you. From our first phone call to the office, till our last court appearance Vanessa and everyone in the office was wonderful. Every call, email, and meeting, we were made to feel our case was the most important thing not only to us but them. Every question we had was answered in a timely fashion. While helping Ken with an insurance matter. I asked if I could pick his brain about a current custody case in which I was involved. He listened and gave me excellent advice. Although he could not represent me because I was in a different state, he took time to listen to my story and then go into detail about what I could expect and what to plan for, how the laws work, and how and what questions to ask when hiring an attorney, What impressed me more is when I would follow up with him about insurance he would also ask me how my case was going and again give me time and advice. I have dealt with attornies in the past, and I can tell you by how he treated me, someone who could not hire him. I know that he is willing to go the extra mile when hired. He is a rare find, a strong advocate, and a tremendous resource. I highly recommend working with Ken!!

Mary is great. She is knowledgeable on family law matters, always returns messages/calls in a timely manner, and is definitely the best attorney I have ever had. I've been in and out of court with family law matters for quite some time and she ranks THE BEST. She knows the laws, and does not BS about anything. She did not sugar coat anything or tell me what I want to hear (like many attorneys I have dealt with in the past). She does not give false hope, but she is stern and direct when it comes to practicing law. She is prompt on all paperwork and filing. My niece informed me of what happened in the office firm September 27,2024 and I was absolutely shocked and devastated that such behavior would come from a licensed attorney.
My niece is 27 years old, educated , articulate and understands ,comprehensively. She was trying to help on the behalf of my brother . Kortney Simmons did not lead by example per what was explained to me.
Definitely not a good representation of Casey & Simmons Law Firm . Threatening in tone , condescending to someone younger , cruel to someone with a disability and their ability to process information .
