Our eviction case pushed Curt & his co-counsel team to their limits in every way, & they pulled through w/ flying colors. Our case, while practically over in our favor, instead of being a normally 1 month long UD, still lingers on after ~8 months not because of Curt, but because our opponent was ruled to be one of the most mean/obstructive Landlord attorneys out there, w/ over 20 years experience, & have an endless dirty playbook they launch against tenants which puts them at the top of the list of infamous, notorious Landlord attorneys- they are also a high volume Landlord side firm w/ HUGE resources & they do everything possible to bury & overwhelm their opponent, to run up costs & force missed response deadlines. For the first 4 mo, just to keep up w/ them, Curt had to dedicate his complete resources to our case (virtually shutting down his legal practice). Curt was able to get each of their mean legal tactic stricken down, & then, icing on the cake, got the judge to slap them w/ one of the largest (if not the largest) sanctions (penalties, like contempt of court) ever for their mean/obstructive behavior. Judges almost never give much sanctions, so Curt (& team) winning us that monster one was no small feat.
I was present at many of his most important court motion hearings in our case, and closely read through the endless court hearing and deposition transcripts, digesting his responses, counter arguments, & lines of questioning. I could go on endlessly about all the twists & turns that he had to overcome, but suffice it to say that given our case has pushed all the boundaries of UD law/process, he has demonstrated himself to me to be an extremely competent, legally knowledgeable, adept, tenacious, & caring lawyer (& person). He has great instincts w/ the SF civil Judges, depositions, and real-time litigation strategy. W/ Judges, he’s actually very respectful, takes allot of abuse, rides the line to stay on their good side and builds a solid history and rapport. In depos, he’s got amazing instincts.
His instincts to discover criminal/foul play in physical evidence were also very impressive. I was also amazed at how he can dig into and own all the endless facts of our extremely complex case. Most all other attorneys would just gloss it over, and ignore/miss key (even hidden) evidence.
He also great on client communications stuff, and is very open to client input & guidance when helpful, yet is always polite and frank when it is not. He is extremely respectful, and has almost zero ego/elitist trips of most lawyers. No games or angles… he’s a strait shooter!
He knows his court procedure pretty well, and is a tenacious fighter. When it comes to fighting the most notorious landlord firms, he only takes clients that are willing (and able) to go all the way to jury trial, and we wanted a firm that had effectively scrapped w/ them before, and could handle jury trial. I had interviewed literally dozens of top notch attorneys (most billing $300 - $450/hr, and many were obvious rip offs, looking to take as much $ as possible, and don’t care about results), and even the most experienced in SF UD cases (e.g., 15-20+ yrs exp) had only gone to jury trial once, and the rest had no jury trial experience, just doing some bench trials, which is no good for the bogus nuisance UD case maliciously slapped on us. He has close co-counsel associates who fill in gaps where his is practice not as strong. In our case, he teamed up w/ Marc Branco to shore up UD law practice. So, that combined w/ his jury trial experience (and their hunger to kick their butt), is what sold me on their ‘dynamic duo’ to go up against them. His criminal law experience was very pertinent to our very (fact driven) nuisance UD case, and he’s adept at picking apart (hostile) witnesses an triangulating to converge on favorable facts to the case.
So, in sum, I can vouch that Curt (& team) are very competent re UD legal practice, highly ethical, they get results.

Russell Col was hired to file a motion to assign legal counsel on my old case penal code 1473.6
He spent many hours to investigate and write a motion.
Granted. Now I don't have to hire another atty to file Motion to vacate my previous conviction at my cost.
Judge also granted even subpoena fees as well. Russell Cole did excellent job .

Mr. Hennessey was my attorney many years ago, but from reading his reviews he has only continued to his greatness as an attorney... He represented me in a criminal case that started with me facing life. He always made sure to encourage me and let me know not to worry. During my case he fought so hard for my freedom and to ensure the courts treated me right that he ended up with a charge himself (which I believe was dismissed latter) for contempt of court from a shady judge. Well from that threat of life and after a lengthy trial I walked away with a sentence that was worthy of my crime. I never came to Mr. Hennessey an innocent man, I knew I did wrong and deserved punishment but Mr. Hennessey made sure that's what I got. Ive been out for some time now and have a good life now, and I honestly give Mr. Hennessey much credit for fighting so hard to allow me to have this second chance at life... There were actually 3 of us in this case and although we all had our own attorneys Mr. Hennessey fought so hard for all of us that we all ended up coming home from this case. My case was plagued with lots of police misconduct and violation of my rights. Every attorney I got was "ready" to fight or so they said until they got the retainer. All my previous attorneys wanted me to settle for ridiculous plea deals. Sean was the only attorney that was able to uncover 2 different police reports for my case and brought to light all the things the police lied about to get the case to stick. Sean is like a pit bull in the court room with still being beyond professional. If your case has a lot of issues or you simply just want someone that will actually be thorough and do what they say, get Sean.

I was ensnared in a corupt child protective services juvenile matter (DCFS) and my 2 children which started in Dec 2007. although it was dragged out in local juvenile court over the next 2 years in a manner which was done as a punitive means by the temp judge- He helped ensure my children weren't taken away thru that time. I knew my civil rights and those of my children's were violated from day 1- I am blessed that he responded to my massive blanketing of law firms, and that he is an expert in the field of suing CPS DCF for violations of rights. I learned that the smartest attorneys, one's that know they would accept a civil rights law suit against a government group but get actively involved at a much earlier stage can work miracles. He is the most down to earth, well grounded attorney I have still yet to meet. Robert represented my ex-wife and was definitely one of the best lawyers I have encountered. My attorney was VERY expensive and I was truly disappointed. She was not able to stand across from Robert in the court room. I had noticed his knowledge in the law and his real life experience combined made one of the best arguments.
Years later I remarried and my current was just finishing her divorce and custody case. Her lawyer at the time was very passive. We hired Robert and let me say what an honor to have him on my side! I found myself in desperate need of a lawyer after I was sexually assaulted by a coworker/long time friend of mine. Every avenue I had gone through to hold him accountable led nowhere. I went to our HR department and they did nothing. I went to law enforcement, the DA denied my case. I went to file a restraining order against him so at least he would be removed from the workplace and he lawyered up immediately. I walked into our first hearing by myself and his big shot defense attorney absolutely wiped the floor with me. My restraining order was denied. So I searched and searched for my own legal counsel when I discovered Russell. He was the first person with any kind of power who actually treated me like a human being. The first person who didnt know me from Adam to show any empathy. In all reality, my case wasnt exactly in Russells wheelhouse yet because of my desperate need for help and many roadblocks I encountered, he offered to represent me anyway. Josh was referred to me by another attorney.
Essentially my case revolved around a mid-2020 cancel culture event with my employer. This resulted in my wrongful termination along with Josh unpacking a number of other claims as we sifted through my almost four years of employment.
My understanding was that the employer, over the years, had mistreated me. Josh knew the law and precedents that tied to the mistreatment. The list of claims was long.
At its core, my case was about an employer that irrationally reacted to a troll site post on social media tied to a post from me. While the company had invited everyone to share ideas, because it declared it was open to receiving ideas, I posted a further sharing of conservative ideas. This did not suit the political views of the employer. Not only was I wrongfully terminated, but the employer also defamed me in the process.

Shaun Murphy is the best Attorney ever! My experience with him was a personal injury case. I contracted an STD from a man that I had been dating long term, who forgot to tell me that he had herpes before we had sex. The devastation, embarrassment and humiliation was unbelievable.
