I got into a DUI this year. I blew a 0.9 BAC and hit another driver on the road.
It very much could have been a felony with jail time or worse - but I got lucky and this was my first and last time.
With no idea what to do, I was recommended Ron by my friend. He gets the job done. Took off one of my charges, reduced my fine size (with community service), and explains what you HAVE to do in order to get your life back on track. And he’s helped me get my life back on track immensely.
I recommend Ron Chini if you’re facing any kind of DUI-related charges. He’s your guy.
There’s a lot more bigger firms but going with the independent route and smaller firms like Ron is much cheaper and still gets the job done.

Julia is a great lawyer, and has the skills and personality you want to represent you and negotiate on your behalf. My case involved a settled outcome that satisfied the prosecutor, and she was just brilliant at that. She is very responsive and gave me good advice early in my case, of course. But after the initial stage, she really went into overdrive, and recognized that she had an opportunity with this prosecutor to get my case dismissed. She knew an expert who did an effective evaluation and used another expert also in an artful way. She was correct that this would satisfy the prosecutor, and made it happen.
She's one of those rare high-EQ people that works so well with persons, but who uses the rapport she builds to get a good outcome. She had a great strategy, and inspired a lot of confidence.
I would hire her for any lawyer work, but also for any negotiation, which I think requires even more skill and talent.

I interviewed several attorneys to represent me but none could give me such a detailed and knowledgeable explanation of the process I had to go thru. especially when it comes to handling professionally licensed defendants.
Levon was very compassionate and spent so much time on explaining and calming me down that he probably well exceeded the fee he charged me which was already much lower than other attorneys wanted to charge me. Even just talking to Levon made me feel better. He was more than an attorney but also a friend during this terrible nightmare I went thru. He clearly updated me at every court date and every step and answered all my questions in a clear in concise manner no matter how many questions I had. Levon has very important skill that not ll attorneys have-he knows how to talk. And finally what mattered the most was the result: after a roller coaster ride with DA's and prosecutors and after numerous court dates my case was finally dismissed! Sam played a critical role in protecting my acupuncture license. Apart from his foresight, understanding of the law as well as the intricacies of the administrative process - he has the ability to listen and understand different circumstances/cultures/backgrounds in formulating his legal theory and strategic counsel is what sets him apart. My son was taken from his mother by DCFS I didn’t know this happened until 4 and half month after he was placed in a strangers house ! And this was the second DCFS case the first one I was the victim that didn’t press charges or show up to the case because my logic was I was the victim in that case so how do I need to show up ? Well I was very wrong and my rights to my son were limited to 1 supervised visit per year! So for 4 years I was basically paying her to see my kid and I was paying large sums of money to do so. When I showed up to court, the court provided me with so free but terrible lawyer I left court and was reaching out to her and her office with no response calling 4-5 times a day for over a week and that wasn’t gonna work! So I literally meet or had phone conversations with every attorney that deals with these type of cases and I only had a good feeling about Matt so I retained him he promised to get me full custody of my son and we came up with a solid game plan and instructed me every step of the way he was also was my therapist and a very patient friend because I too was in the system when I was a child so I was very hard to witness my child going through the same traumatic situation , Long story short Sole physical custody and the mom only gets a 4 hour visit per month this was my dream and it’s a reality now !!!

Very thankful for the time and attention on my case! My case is very complex and multifaceted. Attorney Matt has remained unfazed and calm throughout this whole process even when put in situations he was not prepared for due to DPSS changing things up on the spot at the last minute which was out of his control. I hired Patrick Dudley AFTER observing (extensively) how this counselor navigated a former business partner of mine through his (felony indicted) criminal case. Patrick was successful in getting this defendants felony indictment reduced to a simple misdemeanor charge with no prison and a reasonable probation period . My wife and I were dealing specifically with a claim for restitution in relation to a hit pedestrian in a DUI case. Admittedly, the $250 fee for a phone call struck me as odd as none of the other firms seemed to be requiring the same upfront cost. That said we wanted to cast a wide net in terms of attorneys and kept the meeting. Givelle was probably the 10th attorney we spoke to regarding our situation. Our frustration through the process was that many attorneys seemed intent to just handle pretty straight forward DUI cases. From our novice perspective, these attorneys did not seem to have a good grasp on the nuance of more complicated DUI cases and were for the most part not able to help us. Luckily, we were able to connect with Givelle. 5 minutes into our conversation, we knew that the $250 was going to be well spent. Our understanding of the situation by the time our consult was over was light years ahead of where it had begun. Givelle ended up not being the specialist we needed for the case in front of us, however after giving us much better insight in terms of what to expect from the courts she immediately connected us with an amazing attorney that has expertise in this niche arena. After spiraling for a bit, we finally feel like we are headed in the right direction thanks to Givelle's guidance. Prices are only expensive in the absence of value. I ultimately felt like I had hit rock bottom, that this potential DUI was going to be like wearing the scarlet letter for years to come. I thought I wouldn’t be able to look forward to having a successful future and that this would set me back.
Because this was my first DUI and being in trouble with the law, I wasn’t sure if I even needed an attorney, nor did I think I could afford to drop the money for it.
