I was referred to Attorney David Makovec in December 2014, because I needed help to draft up and file a QDRO after my divorce. His prices are very reasonable, he is very knowledgeable at what he does, and he is friendly and he made me feel at ease and no worries at our first meeting. He always kept me informed as the process of filing the QDRO went on & he was there for me to answer questions when it came to any communication between my ex-husband's company lawyer.

Dave Makovec is one of the best attorneys of law. This guy works for great prices and will stick it out as long as it takes and he treats you just like family and will help in any way. I was dealing with crap i had nothing to have a part of for the last 4,5 years cuz of people blaming me and its all done! Yay lol saves me my charger fund! Might be a bar night in the coming lol. The car accident wasn’t my fault, however, totaled my car & put me in the hospital. I was under the influence so did get a DUI. Attorney Violi got me the best results through all aspects of this ordeal. He kept me informed, calm, & got me through. I hired Mr. Kenyon in both a civil and criminal defense case regarding Marijuana and DUI. I've found that Charles did not keep proper notes regarding my case, as I've had to constantly remind him of what took place on the day of my arrest. During a suppression hearing regarding evidence, he admitted evidence we were trying to suppress. He was regularly late for court, and was not at his office at times we scheduled meetings. In the end, I had to fire Mr. Kenyon and appoint a public defender. Definitely not worth the $6k flat fee retainer.

I was arrested at 5 a.m on a Saturday morning and I asked a family member to find an attorney for me. She contacted Mr. Kenyon. He was extremely responsive and met with me over the weekend to set my expectations, gather facts, and begin formulating a strategy.
He met with me again early Monday morning, briefed me on the steps he had taken, and once again did a fine job of ensuring I knew what would be happening over the next few days.
As it turns out, my charges were dropped a few hours later, but it was clear that Mr. Kenyon was an excellent choice and had a firm grasp of dealing with the legal process, and developing a strategy for my defense. I would highly recommend him.

My consult was with one attorney and gave me thoughtful information. The attorney I was represented by hadn't even read the consult attorney's notes before talking to me. Heather Jones told me it was 'unethical' to represent me in my case and refused to discuss with me the other case I wanted representation for. She did manage to bill me for the entire retainer. Complete waste of money.

I was very happy with Dave when he represented me in court for my BUI charge. Dave was responsive, attentive, and navigated a case that wasn't very straight forward as it relates to the law. The only area for improvement would have been the knowledge base around BUI laws specifically in Multnomah County, but I'm not sure many lawyers would have that.

After working with this firm for years, I had an extremely disappointing interaction earlier this year. I hired this law firm to set up a trust that was outlined in my parents’ will. I had a single meeting in which a lawyer gathered information from me and then sent the lawyer vthe will to review, with the understanding that they would set up the trust. The lawyer that I met with left the firm. The firm told me that they no longer had anyone who could set up the trust. I had already paid them $400 — for which I received no legal advice and no trust documents. I asked for them to refund the money, as they did not do the task and I got no legal advice, and they refused.
