Sarah Perez was referred to me from a friend and I couldn't be more grateful that happened. Sarah consulted with me on my issue and was incredibly knowledge, professional and overall helpful. Jim Dixon represented me in a case where I was being wrongly accused of domestic violence and violating a protection order. It was a very traumatic time for me. I felt like my whole life had been turned upside down and I wondered how our system could allow this to happen.

I received a speeding ticket ( while coming from Seatac to Seattle on i-5 ) for first time in WA few months back. I contacted Stephanie and she made the whole experience seamless and very easy. She was very professional and nice when I spoke to her for the first time. I sent a scan copy of my ticket and rest everything was taken care by Stephanie. She basically took care of my ticket start to end and I never had to worry about it.
She got my ticket dismissed to non-moving violation.

Generally when one is seeking an attorney, it's not because they are looking for a conversation or a new friend, there are extenuating circumstances that have taken place in one's life and an expert is needed to help defend or represent that individual. I have had this happen to me and I was very concerned and honestly worried about what could and may have happened to me. I found Stephanie, explained my circumstances to her and she did a phenomenal job in advising me, comforting me and ensuring I was aware the whole time of what was taking place with my case throughout my legal ordeals. Every time I had a question or concern she would get back to me ASAP, never leaving me wondering if she got my message or if she just didn't care. Stephanie knows her way around a court room, a judge, a jury and most of all, the prosecution.

I first contacted Ms. Havens after being charged with a violation on a deferred prosecution agreement in 2014. The agreement had been set up by a previous attorney in the summer of 2012, and due to the new charge, he no longer wanted to work with me. After explaining my situation through tears on the phone to Ms. Havens, she asked why my case had not been referred to King County District Court Mental Health Court (KCDC MHC).
It was the first time that I had even heard of the institution, and after a quick Google search, I began to wonder the same thing. I had been diagnosed with an axis 1 mental health disorder in March 2012, and it was the reason that my case was previously granted a deferred prosecution. However, there was no structure to hold me accountable for my own actions besides the occasional probation meeting.
After a consultation at her office in Seattle, my family and I hired Ms. Havens to represent me. She was successful in having the new charge referred to KCDC MHC, where it remained in probation and monitoring until the case was closed in 2017. There were a lot of ups and downs in the case, and Ms. Havens remained on the entire time.
I cannot recommend Ms. Havens enough for anyone seeking criminal defense help. She works tirelessly, and is a fierce advocate for her clients. From the moment she came on board, she made things clear: she would help me, as long as I was willing to help myself.
Ms. Havens made it very clear that this would be my final chance to make things right and really pushed me to be honest in seeking help through psychiatry and therapy. In advocating for me to be a part of the Mental Health Court structure (which was not easy, given the reservations of the other parties involved, and yet she still worked to get me the opportunity), I was given the chance to learn about what true accountability means. The MHC required me to take a rigorous domestic violence intervention program based on my probation officer’s recommendation, to which I was resistant. However, Ms. Havens advocates that people go into situations with open minds and willing to learn. I feel that I matured greatly in my time working with Ms. Havens and really learned from her, and the tools she advocated that I have.
In short, Ms. Havens is highly empathetic, yet provides tough course correcting guidance to her clients. She is intelligent, eloquent, and advocates for people as if they were one of her own. Anyone in a sorry situation would be lucky to have her as their legal defense. I know I was.

Dan is the Man (as an Attorney)! Plain and simple. I had two city charges (DV and Resisting Arrest) against me that was ongoing with another defense Attorney. The prosecution was absolutely stagnant for nearly 2 years, and I did not believe our initial Attorney was a good fit anymore to get the job done. A family member recommended Dan Fiorito instead. I switched to Dan mid-prosecution. He took over and shortly thereafter got the DV charge officially dismissed. I then took the Resisting Arrest charge to trial and Dan won my case after a full 3-day trial. His courtroom skill was levels above that of the City Prosecutor. The Jury unanimously acquitted me, believing in Dan's convincing arguments over our opposition. I plan to seek Dan's help in pursuing a Civil action against the city as well.
To say Dan was the right choice as my Attorney is an understatement. He was the perfect choice. His demeanour is caring, professional, and very pragmatic. Being charged with child abuse by prosecutors and then getting "Founded" of child abuse by CPS left me devastated to say the least. I had already hired a criminal defense attorney to address the assault charge I was being charged with. It was not until I had gotten a letter in the mail from CPS saying that they "founded" me of child abuse that I then called my criminal defense attorney. My attorney then explained to me that they were two completely separate matters which would require two separate attorneys. My criminal defense attorney on this matter then referred me to Denise. Here is why I recommend Denise as an attorney. In my case I hired Denise to appeal the CPS matter. My first time talking to Denise on the phone I was full of emotional trauma and had a lot to say about what had happened. She listened to everything that I had to say about what happened with this matter but also how toxic the relationship between me and my mom biological daughter had become over the last year. Denise did not pass any judgement against me nor did she profile me as what I was being charged with. When we spoke about the facts of what had happened and that there was no intent and I was just playing with my non biological daughter which lead to an accident we then used everything we could to prove that what had happened was "truly" non intentional. Denise typed out a very professional, truthful and sincere declaration on my behalf and submitted mailed it into CPS for what we hoped would be over turned. As the months went by my criminal defense attorney had gotten a he assault charged dismissed and not too much longer after Denise had gotten the CPS matter over turned. Denise is not just someone who will go up to bat for you but she also will listen to you have to say even if it does not benefit your case. Which at the time when I found Denise is what I needed. I needed a professional such as her to listen to me and hear and understand how much suffering I was truly going through and that it was an honest mistake. Thanks to Denise getting my case with CPS over turned I will be able to do things such as volunteer at schooling events or girls scout events with my biological daughter in the future. Miss Gagner is a 5 star attorney and I have the up most gratitude for her. If you are being charged with something and you are innocent or even if you are guilty. Mr. Maybrown is very selective in the number of cases his firm brings on. Thankfully, Mr. Maybrown represented me for a very serious false accusation. Ultimately, he successfully brought the truth out and got the case dismissed. I can see why the firm is selective in the cases they bring in, because his attention to my case was always paramount, he was extremely responsive to every question and concern, and frankly, treated me like a family member and not someone who was just writing the checks. His methods are meticulous and brilliant and was able to look at everything in the case akin to putting together a very complicated jigsaw puzzle.

Todd maybrown took my case in 2011 while I was in prison. He won my personal restraint petition may 6th of 2014.i was released from prison and my charges were over turned. He got me a new trial. October 14th of 2014 i won my trial and only took the jury 15 min to deliberate my case. Came back with the verdict of not guilty. After 6 years of fighting this. Todd maybrown did the impossible. On Thursday December 11, 2008, I received a criminal complaint against me. According to the court papers, the charge was a criminal offense; the alleged violation was an assault. I was shocked and strongly believed that there must be an error due to the fact I did not recall “knowingly” committing an offense against any being, let alone a human being. Initially, I did not know what to do. The second day I called a friend who is a attorney, his practice focuses on civil litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on general commercial litigation, i.e. he was not a criminal defense attorney. After reading the court complaint letter, my friend’s reaction was similar to mine. He said this is very bizarre; situation and proceeded to call the City prosecutor to find out what the complaint was really about. He did his best with no success. With a court date set for December 23rd that I was not able to attend, my friend was kind enough to represent me and request discovery materials, so hopefully we could understand what was going on.
Knowing the complaint was absolutely false; I took it very seriously and started the search for a knowledgeable top-notch criminal defense attorney. I received Todd’s name as a recommendation and contacted him. He quickly returned my phone call. We sat together the second day after my call and Todd began efforts on my behalf. The day I met Todd, he told me, the accuser may bring two more individuals to the hearing and clearly explained what we were going to do. I told Todd I was looking for an excellent attorney. I was upset and disappointed at the possibility I may be found guilty of something I did not do. I was in great distress at having the burden on me to prove my innocence.
What appeared to be a minor case in my opinion, I understood, could have major consequences on my life if the matter was not properly handled. My accuser managed to find two “professional” witnesses, i.e. two liars like him, to support his absolute false claim. Todd, through professionalism, excellent investigation and due diligence in gathering information perfected the case for a win on my behalf during cross examination. Needless to say, I was highly impressed with Todd’s performance. He did a great job. The judge was disgusted with the prosecutor’s office because of the way Todd demonstrated excellence in presenting the matters.

Jenn Kaplan was by far the best attorney I've ever had. I've been represented by a few lawyers over the years and she is the only one that treated me like we were working together and she is amazing at her job. She spent days going through my discovery and looking through legal precedents to prepare for a pre-trial suppression motion that resulted in my charges being dismissed due to 4th Amendment violations. I offered her extra money after the case was dismissed because I was so happy with the results, and not only did she refuse to take it, but she drove half an hour out of her way so I didn't have to wait for the bus in the rain, and explained to me how she was able to use the illegal search to get the evidence suppressed and that the prosecution knew if they lost the motion they would also lose her motion to dismiss. She also does a lot of pro bono work for animal rights and holds seminars for people to familiarize them with the law and how to deal with police officers. She has a 3 part video on YouTube that anybody who wants to know what their basic rights are and how to avoid being tricked by the police into saying something you might later regret. I would recommend her to anybody no matter what the charge. She works hard, keeps you in the loop, and even though she's a brilliant attorney, she explains things in a way that makes you feel like she could be talking to one of her colleagues. I got her number from a friend who's been in trouble with the law a few times, and he said she was the only lawyer who actually made regular visits to visit him in jail to keep him in the loop about his case.

I got blind-sided by an intense felony DV arrest in January 2011 and charged with some severe crimes. I didn't even know I broke any laws but it looked pretty grim to me after reading the reports.
