On top of doing a lot of the heavy-lifting to get us a child study, when we received the first draft of the IEP, Manes and Weinberg provided great feedback, which greatly strengthened the final version. I hired John Pihno , possibly the worst communication process , I’ve been dealing with this office for a year and never met my lawyer , couldn’t get him on the phone his assistant Suzette never responded back to emails or calls . I felt like I was constantly chasing them . A lot of the things that happens during my case as , surgically etc. would have never happened unless I pushed and of course these people want a piece of your check when it’s all over . We did a project which included several change orders asked for by the Hicks at his residence . Mr. Hicks, a partner at this law firm , acted very unprofessional, his wife actually contacted my employees via text causing tortious interference with our contracts. While completing his contracts, we found his soil was sub par and full of clay and needed to be remediated. He and his wife practically had temper tantrums causing for an unbelievably unsuitable work environment at his home. Even with their attempts to cause harm to me and my company, we competed the contract. A year later, he claimed that some of the brick pavers moved, I explained to him that he refused to pay to remedy the soil situation and therefore it was not covered by our warranty. He proceeded to use his law degree to sue us, he filed suit for over $24,000.00 which included almost $12,000.00 in new landscaping which was not part of my contract. While delivering the discovery to his house, the driveway which he claimed to have been removed and reinstalled in his lawsuit had the same pavers sinking in the same spot a year after they were supposedly replaced.. if this partnership allows attorneys like this, who use their law license to try to steal from hard working contractors then I would say run away from this firm. They support disgraceful behavior like this from their partners! We just recently went to binding arbitration. The arbiter threw out 99% of his case and awarded him $2300.00, one tenth of what he was fraudulently suing me and my company for!

I made the difficult decision to move on from my original divorce attorney at another firm as there was little progress and called Bari Weinberger who connected me with Robyn Howlett in the Freehold office. Within just a few months Robyn was able to make a breakthrough with my ex-wife's attorney andbring the case to a close. Without Robyn's persistence and direct approach, as well as her kindness and empathy for both sides, I'm almost certain the case would still be ongoing. After it was resolved Bari herself took the time to call me and see how I was doing. I would recommend her firm and Robyn to anyone looking for someone to be their best advocate during a difficult time, or maybe even someone like me who needs a change to get to the finish line.

I should have hired Counselor Michael right away. But after firing my previous lawyer, I made a very good choice by using Michael Guntenski Esquire as my divorce lawyer. He is a leader in the profession who is generous with his time.
Mike is a compassionate advocate and an experienced litigator and made sure I got what I wanted in my settlement as my divorce was rough and could have been a lot more difficult had it not been for Mike. He arrived for every appearance on time and prepared. He continually kept up with the opposing attorney, repeatedly negotiating on my behalf.
He always kept me up to date and informed on these negotiations, and always asked for my opinion and input, and moved forward based on that input.

Experiencing a divorce is not really something you plan for, especially after having children with someone. It can be an incredibly overwhelming, emotional, and confusing time. It was for me. Having said that, there are steps you can take to help ease the fear of the process. One of the steps, and in my opinion probably the most important, is hiring the "right" divorce lawyer. I wanted someone who really took the time to understand me and my children. I didn't want to be treated like any other client with a failed marriage. It was my life and it felt like it was falling apart. I needed compassion and direction. I needed someone who above all else would put my children first no matter how angry I got at my former husband.
Bottom line, I wanted a lawyer who genuinely cared. Michael Gunteski was exactly who I needed. His unwavering resolve to protecting my children was like nothing I could have hoped for. He guided me through one of the hardest times in my life with patience and dedication to doing what was right for my family and our future. My judgment was at times clouded by anger, fear, and frustration. Michael continuously reassured me that my children and I would be protected and that I would rebuild my life again. His expertise and knowledge of family law was impressive but his open-hearted approach to understanding what I was feeling was most remarkable.

Mr Davies is compassionate, hardworking, and excellent negotiation. He helped negotiate a consent agreement with my highschool girlfriend who hit me with a huge surprise childsupport order after 13.5 years and would not allow me to see my son. She made up nasty lies and sent threats to my wife and I. He helped me have fair terms so I could take care of my current wife and kids. Now age 23 my son who doesn't want a relationship wants a 6th and 7th year of college paid for. I am using Mr Davies again because he is the best at what he does. There are no words to truly express how grateful I am that I met and hired Mr. Davies. My situation was a particularly difficult one as my ex had an addiction and moved out of state and getting him to respond to anything was difficult. Not to mention our daughter was 10 at that time. I had a challenging experience working with David Torchin in the past, who was our court-appointed Parent Coordinator. Mr. Torchin was assigned to help my ex-wife and I resolve disputes regarding the upbringing of our children. Unfortunately, he canceled our meetings on short notice multiple times and even double-booked our initial appointment, leaving us waiting in his in his waiting room for some time before informing us we needed to reschedule, as his other client took priority.
During our sessions, I found Mr. Torchin to be unprofessional. He frequently resorted to personal insults and attempted to intimidate me when I disagreed with him. Rather than working towards a compromise, he often tried to impose his opinions and would often resort to bullying tactics.
We then attended mediation with a different professional to help resolve some of these very same issues that Mr. Torchin was incapable of effectively addressing. The assigned mediator offered common-sense solutions that were "in the children's best interests." When confronted about his effectiveness in addressing our concerns, Mr. Torchin responded, "I never, in addressing the issue, imparted my opinion as to what was best for the children. Ultimately, when the parties could not agree, I left the decision to the discretion of the parent who had custody on that particular day." He also noted, "There is a difference in the style of mediation used by <Mediator Name>, which I do employ when retained as a mediator, and the style of mediation I use when retained as a Parent Coordinator".
His main focus seemed to be on maximizing billing rather than providing the best solutions. I recall one instance where, after being informed that "David is on vacation overseas," I discovered that many of his clients, including myself, were billed for "Telephone/International Calls" line item charge on the next invoice — as if his substantial hourly fee wasn't enough.
Given these experiences, it became clear that Mr. Torchin’s services as a Parent Coordinator were ineffective in facilitating resolutions that were truly in the best interests of our children. For those in need of a family law attorney or Parent Coordinator with a calm demeanor, I would advise looking beyond David Torchin.
I hope Mr. Torchin will not respond to me with insults, but instead will use my feedback as an opportunity to improve his services for future clients, as it was intended.

Mr. Torchin was appointed in my case, he is not the first PC to have been appointed in the case that has sadly continued for years. However, he is the first PC to genuinely care for my daughter's needs, and listen to her voice. Mr. Torchin provides sound recommendations that are child focused. Mr. Torchin is professional with the parents, and empathetic with the children. Mr. Torchin is not only an asset to family court, but also to the legal community.
