My experience with Jessica Ressler and her firm has been amazing! It is very difficult to find the delicate balance of not only an attorney that listens and hears you, but represents your best interest. I had a very frustrating, and potentially negatively life altering, experience with Ms. Ressler earlier this year. The error on her part cost my family time, frustration, and stress to myself and my children.
I was advised to file a temporary order of protection which involved making claims against family members. Unbeknownst to me, Jessica Ressler has a general modus operandi of being an extremely aggressive attorney, regardless of the situation. Her tactics involve getting her clients temporary orders of protection, involving the police, and using false statements. For those who are not aware, these tactics often negatively impact children. She treats every case the same, and her reputation in the industry is well known as being overly aggressive to the point of being detrimental to her clients and their cases. Further, her strategy unnecessarily involves child protective services who are legally obligated to investigate each case, and each parent, regardless of the accusations made.
Without going into significant personal detail, the filings I made under Ms. Ressler's guidance landed me in the cross hairs of CPS for no apparent reason. The result could have led to a permanent record, termination from my job, and an inability to be involved in some children's activities. When I pointed this out to Ms. Ressler, I was met with vague explanations and no real accountability, nor help to assist me from a legal standpoint. While initially she was attentive to my questions, once this occurred, her communication stopped instead of following up on ways to assist me, as though she signed off from my case. Ultimately, the CPS case was resolved without issue based on evidence provided by my family.
It should be noted that Ms. Ressler was recently formally admonished in court for her tactics and procedures. As previously stated, her reputation amongst attorneys in the NYC metro area is well known, and not well regarded.
I would not trust this lawyer with anything important and would highly caution others to do their due diligence before hiring her. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for legal counsel.

I hired Eric in 2014 when the divorce process started for me and he has followed through with me today, finalizing my divorce, following up on child support arrears, etc. I met with several attorneys before making a selection and chose Eric due to his warm, kind, professional demeanor. Eric explains everything in detail, is there to answer all of my questions as has handled everything with class, respect and decency (even though we are dealing with a not so ideal situation.) I can not recommend Eric enough. Divorce is not an easy thing to experience as having a gentleman like Eric by my side, made the process a little less stressful. HIGHLY recommend!

My divorce was finalized in 2013, but I never had the chance to write a review. As far as I'm concerned, Eric is one of a kind in the best possible way. Compassionate, thorough, caring & always on top of details. Even thou my divorce took 3 yrs to finalize, I would do it all over again just to have Eric in my corner. Can't say enough good things about this amazing man who was my rock during a most awful & trying time in my life. & also a big thank you to Gina for helping me navigate many, many issues & phone calls.

Lance was professional and also very accommodating. I felt like he met me where I was and patiently walked me through a very hard time in my life. There were certain principles I wanted to abide by, and even if he wisely advised otherwise the communication was always respectful. I want to share a few words about David, who handles my uncontested divorce.
He is a high-level professional with a positive attitude and excellent work ethics. He is very responsive. David is the type of lawyer who would always call you back or shot you an email on the same day no matter what type of question you have. This attitude from the lawyer is very important for me as I'm going through some difficult times in my life.
I would add that he is very knowledgeable in his area of expertise and if there is any difficult question he would go above and beyond to find the right answer for his client. I think his prices are fair and absolutely reasonable for the high-level advocacy service that he is providing. I'm happy that I chose David as my divorce lawyer, everything went smoothly and efficiently! I highly recommend David as a lawyer.

My experience with Seth is that he is a very knowledgeable and down to earth attorney. Very responsive to say the least! Due to Seth's expertise, I had an impressively short custody battle.
As a father in the family court, I had very little confidence in gaining custody. Seth reassured me that I had a strong case. Seth is an honest attorney who works hard for his clients--he was very precise and detailed in spotting out some not so obvious inconsistencies in my child support case.
I’m sure that Seth will ensure the best possible outcome to any type of litigation within the family courts--with the child/children in mind as the priority.

Can I tell Seth gave me my life back after being severely abused and surviving and getting to a safe space. Seth took over I was so afraid he handled everything he did everything in court and saved my life. I cannot thank him enough . From the beginning of our court proceedings to the end Seth took over got me all I deserved plus extra without me asking he is an expert in his field and I was amazed at how easy he made a difficult situation he is on your side I was extremely impressed he is awesome if I new how amazing he is I would probably have left my abusive situation earlier I did not no how much help is out there to help in domestic violence situations . Mr. Schraier is an amazing lawyer who helped me in my Custody/Visitation court case proceedings and I have say he did such a great job, he kept me in the loop, I was able to communicate to him about things that was happening throughout the case, We had one on one conversations about important ideas on what actions/steps I needed take to better my chances in court and he was there to give good advice. If you need an attorney for custody, Rory is your guy! He is personable and I’ve had nothing but great experiences with him. He knows what he’s doing and is always prepared and professional. With all the clients/court cases he has, he gives you 100% all the time. Having him as my attorney gives me such confidence. There is so many good things I could say about him, going to court is already stressful but he makes it so much easier.

I cannot speak highly enough about Rory! He manages his client load so perfectly that he is able to give his clients personal service. This was critical for me. I needed someone that would take my family court case seriously and he did not disappoint! Simply put, he cares! And I found that to be a rare thing when choosing an attorney to handle my most important matter. Rory is attentive to detail, thorough, always prepared and spot on with his killer petitions. I would and will use him again if the need arises. Additionally, he was very accurate in his billing and does not 'pad his time' for financial gain. If your situation finds that his fee is too high for your abilities...rally, ask friends and family, do what it takes! I have hired budget attorneys and I promise, you get what you pay for. I believe a higher power directed me into the hands of Jennifer Lippmann as I was a naive, innocent 30 year old woman who had never seen a courtroom or even knew their were people aka lawyers that could not only “win” your case but essential to getting your life back on track. I was so naive that a lawyer was a lawyer…. If I had done nothing wrong and had nothing to hide , I shouldn’t have to search high and low for a way out of my short lived, highly volatile marriage. Thank god the first lawyer I called who I found via Google search bar by entering “lawyers near me” didn’t just see dollar signs or a new case, she heard my voice, listened to my story and honestly told me she she wasn’t the type of lawyer my situation needed, and kindly referred me to Powers Law specifically Jennifer Lippmann. I was a little confused but grateful for any guidance. The day I called Powers Law was when I decided to also Google 2020 cheating apps and downloaded about 6, finding my husband by his cell phone number on every one. I’d known for months something was different and wrong but couldn’t get an answer. After I messaged him on one, he came home from work early, entered our apartment, grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt and left without a word. I was working remotely and we had a 6 month old son. I remember being so confused because I didn’t even flip out like I should have. I actually said their is obviously your unhappy with, let’s try therapy but he told me I was a “mentally ill, drug addict” and he never wanted me to begin with. I remember I transferred like $400 of our money into a savings account because he had previously kept his paycheck from our account when we’d get into an argument knowing I’d have no choice but to forgive him when we had no money. He told me I stole money from him and I would be penalized when the time came. I called the number of the lawyer i was referred to and I’ll never forget getting a man (John Powers) who spoke to me for 30 minutes reassuring me I absolutely did not steal money, it was our own account and I remember him saying “if he is already pulling this crap, I assure you that you have called the right place” and informed me on important decisions i should immediately make for my safety and my childs & arranged an appointment with Jen a few days later. Ironically that weekend after I met her , I had to call 911 over a domestic incident and before i was even a client John has called me back as did Jen who specified how important it was that I take my child and myself and I go to my parents (which I naively thought was illegal) because of the threats and fears my husband had filled my head with. Once I had this team on my side, my life slowly turned around and in the beginning it felt like my life would never be okay again. Their were accusations of my husband leaving our child in an unattended car for an unsafe period of time, women sneaking into our apartment while I was in the hospital after a car accident, almost a dozen verbal and domestic incidents and even a CPS investigation. I remember feeling so helpless at one point, I just wanted to give him what he wanted to stop the torture but that would mean my son and that was not an option. Jen has been a powerhouse of strength, smarts and just human morality within such a tumultuous series of events. Today, although my case isn’t over I can tell you my husband has zero control over my life when a year ago he controlled the whole thing. She has put safety measures into place and been the voice i didnt have for myself, but grew when my son was born. She knows every answer to every question the judge asks and it’s exactly how I would respond. She doesn’t just people please me through my case but is honest and fair and i am never surprised with any outcome because of this. I made a choice to marry a man who lived a whole life I never knew existed until I had to. At a time where trust was the most confusing word in the dictionary, I hired Jen & relearned it

It was really a pleasure to deal with John. He is very responsive and provided regular updates to my speeding ticket. John was able to reduce the four points ticket to a parking ticket and was able to reduce the fine payable to a very minimal amount. Kelly went above and beyond to get the best outcome for my case. I switched to Kelly after working with an incompetent attorney who attempted to coerce me into settling. I had sole custody of my son (who has Asperger's) for 6 1/2 years. After I recently remarried, my son's father brought me back to court for joint custody and increased visitation. Kelly fought hard, and the end result is that I maintain sole custody of my son and my son's father was mandated to an alcohol and drug treatment program (which he failed to complete) with his visitation REDUCED to four hours per week in a public venue. It is extremely stressful when you are advocating for your child. Kelly is highly responsive, honest and hard working. She knows the law, the court system and the players. She gets the job done with excellence. I will always be grateful. I highly recommend her.
