I searched around and spoke to a few lawyers that didn’t want to take my simple divorce case. I continued searching, and then found the Shannon Family Law Firm. The reviews are not perfect, but overall there seemed to be more pleased clients who used them. So I decided to call and I won’t go into a lot of detail, but I have spoken with the paralegal Jodie Ward-House and attorney Richard Shannon whom I have decided to hire for my case. Jodie and Richard have been very kind and thorough in explaining the details of how my particular case should work if all goes well. My case is new and just starting. I may post another review in the future about this firm after my case is finished. However, based on the previous phone conversation I had with Jodie and phone consultation I had with Richard Shannon was very pleasing. We’ll see how this goes. I would recommend them if need consultation about a divorce case. I have a better understanding about my particular case.

I hired Mr. Bassett in April 2021 after I was indicted with three federal charges. I was facing a lengthy sentence and on an emotional roller coaster with what I had gotten myself in to. Fortunately for my family and I he was able to produce more than favorable results. Two of the three charges were dropped, and my sentence was greatly reduced. This unrealistic outcome that was made possible because of Sam, a brilliant man with a heart of gold that strategized to our benefit. We as defendants first need to accept our own actions and responsibility in whatever we are dealing with and secondly, we need stellar representation. The best was only made possible due to Sam’s navigation throughout my case. I only have positive things to say about my outcome and work experience with Mr. Bassett, I hope you find this review helpful in making your decision. God Bless.

Needed something done that was unsure if could be done. I was given the option to either move forward or save my pennies by Mr. Bassett's team. From the paralegal to Mr. Bassett, I am SUPER pleased of the outcome. It was simple, to the point and very quick. I've been waiting almost a decade to get some help and I feel like I got the best. I was let down by a previous attorney I originally hired, where he initially responded but then just ignored me. Then I had an attorney who asked me if I was "ready to ride the tidal wave of the Justice system." No, I was not. Where some attorneys are unsure and some even will say "it can't be done" I was given the option and I appreciate that. Despite there possibly being an issue, Mr. Bassett and his paralegal were very communicative and tolerant. While I do prefer a more gentle approach, it was not necessary in the long run. Rest assured that if you need someone to get the job done, you can be assured that Mr. Bassett is going to do his best. I'm very glad I went with him based on a peer (his peer) recommendation. I can now continue on the rest of life thankful that I took the chance and thankful that I went with Mr. Bassett. If you want to go with someone who is well known, has a positive impression and has the backing of an amazing staff, look no further. This has been my best experience with a lawyer! Unfortunately, I have to say that. But fortunate to count my blessings and to be clear of something that was a mistake from the get go.

I used Shane and his team once again. This time was to ensure that my daughter was to remain living in Texas with me. This is the third time that I have needed help from the McFarland Law Firm. This was my first time working with his new team that includes Mo and Anna. Once again, McFarland law did not disappoint. Communication was clear, honest, and above all constant. Brilliant strategies in court. Shane and team were very honest and clear about all the options that could happen moving forward so that there were no real surprises. Shane will tell you what you don't want to hear as well. This kind of honesty is important as well. Shane and his team demonstrated the upmost professionalism towards the the other parties involved even when emotions ran a bit high.

I was referred to Marshall after consulting with three other attorneys who could not or were not interested in taking on my high conflict case.
Marshall, was extremely thoughtful, an empathetic listener, and direct with his thoughts on my case. In my years working with attorneys in and out of the family courtroom I have found many attorneys who are not direct and straight forward, which cost me time and money with little to no gain. Marshal was the exact opposite of this. I knew I could trust Marshall and felt it was easy to communicate effectively with him.
He did an emergency hearing for me only hours ahead of when I was suppose to be seeing my children for my scheduled custody. He not only won the hearing and got it thrown out he was very supportive and encouraging to me while going through a situation that was obviously very emotional for me. (This is an example of only one hearing he represented me through.)
He is an out of the box thinker and takes on cases with passion and gusto. I respected and appreciated that he invested his emptions into achieving the best possible outcomes.
I never left a phone conversation with Marshall without a smile on my face. I share this as any legal proceeding is always filled with high emotions and stress. It says a lot when you can hire an attorney with excellent abilities in representing your case and keep your smiling through it.

I worked with Marshall over a period of about 7 months. It was the worst time of my personal life, and I was deeply afraid of what my almost-ex was capable of as we attempted to discuss matters of custody.

I had the pleasure of working with Shane Boasberg for 19 months on a Family Law case centered on my divorce agreement to sell my jointly-owned house. We won!! Shane's experience, professionalism, and work quality were 100% on display when we arrived at court against the opposing counsel. He had a huge Trial Binder for the Judge to use and follow along during the trial, and over (10) exhibits to log in - more than doubling the opposing counsel's exhibits, and providing the ONLY binder to the Judge! Shane and I worked together to get evidence collected and sorted. We conversed long-distance since I live outside of Austin, but the house is near Austin. Emails, phone calls, and text messages were more than enough! Shane comes prepared to win, and is armed with knowledge, wisdom, compassion, and a fire in his belly! His help is worth every penny, and his rate is extremely reasonable.

Shane came recommended by a friend, and was absolutely amazing to work with. I needed legal help with an eviction for a nightmare tenant, and Shane went above and beyond preparing an air-tight case. Although evictions are not the type of law he normally deals with, he learned everything about it quickly and got my tenant out in a timely fashion. He was in constant communication with me throughout the entire process, making sure we were overly prepared so everything would go in our favor. The judge also loved his wit and personal ability. After the eviction was ruled, Shane continued his involvement by following up with the tenant with a very stern, but professional email advising him of the ramifications if he didn’t comply with the judgement and move out. Done. Tenant gone. I was extremely happy with Shane – he was thorough, competent, and a pleasure to work with. I’d definitely hire him again and would recommend him to anyone needing legal help.

The team over at CHA were absolutely fantastic! From start to finish they made sure that everything was just so and as a result I am legally me. 😊 Not only do I not dread social situations where I may be carded anymore, or going through the airport, I'm excited about being carded (which at 40 is no small feat 😅)
Are the services offered absolutely necessary? No, you can go through this process on your own, but their fees were not exorbitant by any stretch and they were work every penny for the peace of mind alone that it was being done right and wouldn't get kicked back.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. If you would like a competent lawyer that has your best interest in mind, I would advise you to find someone else.
I used Joe to file for a divorce and he did not review my marriage agreement (which I sent to him upon retaining him) until the opposing counsel brought it to his attention months later. There was a date error on this certificate which VASTLY changed my liabilities - from nearly 0 to my house, business, etc.
He provided no legal advice and advised me to go along with whatever the opposing counsel suggested, even though it was not in my best interest . He would not answer a single question I asked him and would charge me $100+ for each one sentence email he would send to me that did not provide any guidance.
He was extremely discouraging and did not suggest mediation. He merely suggested I give up and pay out 50%+ even though my situation was very unique and not clear-cut (a signed, informal marriage agreement with a date discrepancy). If I continued with Joe I would have given up an extra ~$500k in my divorce. In the end I paid $4500 for him to draft a boilerplate divorce petition and forward emails from the opposing attorney with no legal advice.

In 2018, the lives of my wife and I, and our son-in-law, were completely upended by the death of our youngest daughter, who was a very special bright spot in our family. After being married only six months, she died in Austin from injuries suffered in an avoidable accident. My wife and I hoped to avoid any other family losing a loved one in the same fashion. As a dad, I had to understand what happened to my daughter. I spent months investigating the facts of the accident and speaking to at least a dozen law firms. Eventually, I spoke with Joel Levine, Dave Wenholz and Daniel Smith. They were very willing to represent us although our case had difficulties, when no other firm would represent us. We benefitted from very effective and excellent representation of Dave Wenholz and Daniel Smith which resulted in a settlement of our case right before trial. I was referred to Joel Levine by Kansas attorney I clearly called them for call backs , I recieved a call that I missed I returned the call to reached out . Never called me back took them 3 weeks to call me back I told the lady it’s been a non injury case it should be on the notes and all the waiting for her to tell me they do not handle non injury case . I suggest better communication by this company. Honestly waisted my time , did not take consideration I understand theirs a line but for 3 weeks is rediculous are you calling one person per day ? . The referral lady by my job takes up a week and does not take this long to get in contact with her customers.
I suggest the front lady that answered the phone to know what type of cases you guys allow and don’t to avoid time waisted personally for the customer and the sake of the co worker .

The team over at CHA were absolutely fantastic! From start to finish they made sure that everything was just so and as a result I am legally me. 😊 Not only do I not dread social situations where I may be carded anymore, or going through the airport, I'm excited about being carded (which at 40 is no small feat 😅)
Are the services offered absolutely necessary? No, you can go through this process on your own, but their fees were not exorbitant by any stretch and they were work every penny for the peace of mind alone that it was being done right and wouldn't get kicked back.

I met Mr.bernard when he was my court appointed lawyer. I was facing 3 felony possession charges and a massive drug addiction. I listened to his plan and he was able to get the courts to give me deferred adjudication. Mr.Bernard never treated me like I wasn't paying for his representation. Within 5 years I landed in court 2 more times again facing felony possession in different counties. He not only traveled over an hour away but also got me deferred adjudication again. I did hire Mr.Bernard for the last two cases and he was amazing. Mr.Bernard helped me stay out of prison and to stay sober. I have changed my life around a 100% and I am doing great now. I have unfortunately been able to deal with alot of different lawyers over my years .Now I have used Mr.Bernard 3 times myself over the last 5 years .Also he just 6 months ago bonded my Youngest child out of jail for 300$ and in one week he had the case thrown out ..My best Potna is also using him now also.I liked that Brian was upfront about the money and the situation. He kept me out of prison my last 2 mishaps and when I first hired Mr.B I had been to prison multiple times but Thanks to Mr.Bernard and his Wife yes it's a two Lawyer Family correcting Lawyer &Judge Family ..Salute ...But yes a few times His Wife would standin.I had to post something this is a Good Lawyer and seems to be a Good Man .I would see him also out of town his son and mine where both playing AL ..And I know people may say he is not a good Lawyer those people I promise u did not pay they bill That's plain and simple.
