I am a single mom that hired Sam Colletti to assist in filing an emergency petition for modification of my children's visitation schedule. I could not have asked for a better experience. I am involved in a custody issue spanning two states and involving both state's laws as well as federal law. As one can imagine, this is nerve-wracking. Mr Moore took his time explaining in digestible bits, what is actually happening, how to best prepare and which areas to focus on. He made me feel utterly comfortable and allowed me to ask my never ending litany of questions. Dont let his calm demeanor fool you. He is a cunning strategist!
What I really liked about my consult is he was willing to help me understand realistically what I am facing, without leaving me feeling scared.
I can't say this next part enough: he never spoke down to me or made me feel like I am stupid. No matter how basic my question, he answered it with serious thought and patience. A refreshing experience from an attorney.
His demeanor made all the difference.

Bob is a straight shooter and a good man to have on your side. Thankfully we settled in mediation for 50/50 custody and looking back I wish I had been more aggressive as Bob advised on the child support and financial aspects but that's my fault not his. He was a rock in the mediation room and though we didn't have to go to a courtroom I have first-hand accounts from others that he's a fine litigator. He's very fair with his billing, farming out the more time-consuming aspects of documentation, financial spreadsheets etc to Blake at a lower rate. My total fees were less than half of my ex's despite hers being nominally a lower hourly rate than Bob. Highly recommended.

I was referred to Law Office of Robert E. Raesz, Jr. at the time of extreme stress and despair, when the only thought going through my mind was to protect my children from an unhealthy and unsafe marriage I was in. He thinks a brain injured person doesnt deserve from him any manners, zero respect, they deserve to be treated like they are always acting badly to justify him doing things such as doing absolutely nothing for me for months on end followed by him launching into verbal assault mode against me simply because to him, a brain injured person doesnt deserve the time of day, or to be cared about in any way at all. He literally claimed me asking for mutual respect and offering to apologize for any bad behavior on my end as long as he returned it to me for his own misdoings as being “verbal harassment”.
Nobody deserves to be treated the way he treats me. If i ask you to apologize that is not verbal harassment you jerk

The team over at CHA were absolutely fantastic! From start to finish they made sure that everything was just so and as a result I am legally me. 😊 Not only do I not dread social situations where I may be carded anymore, or going through the airport, I'm excited about being carded (which at 40 is no small feat 😅)
Are the services offered absolutely necessary? No, you can go through this process on your own, but their fees were not exorbitant by any stretch and they were work every penny for the peace of mind alone that it was being done right and wouldn't get kicked back.

I cannot say enough about Scott and his team. Scott has a way of explaining things that makes complex and overwhelming things seem simple or at least manageable. I can't even tell you how important this is but if you find yourself going through a divorce, you know. Scott is the same way in the courtroom. He argues to the court in a way that is so straight forward, smart and simple. Other lawyers seem to want to confuse and complicate, but Scott explains and simplifies. Most importantly, he wins. He won every single hearing I had in my case which in the end gave us a ton of momentum and this led us to settling the case in mediation on terms that I was happy with. I really cannot recommend him enough.

I hired this firm back in 2017. If you are in a case where you have safety concerns about your child, PLEASE look elsewhere. An inexperienced associate handled my case back, arrived to a vital hearing unprepared, cowered in front of the judge (while opposing counsel and the birth father of my child chuckled), and ruined my infant daughter’s life. The damage done that day was irreparable. Sadly, they are just one example in a long list of lazy and incompetent attorneys who would rather hear themselves blather than listen to the concerns of the people paying them for assistance. As if all that was not bad enough, I received an email over a year after my case was concluded from Scott Milner asking me to remove my Yelp review without so much as an apology for destroying my life and that of my young child.

My experience with Amy and then Scott through a long and contentious divorce trial was far beyond my expectations. Not only were they brilliant, responsive and dedicate, but thoroughly honest and transparent. I saw a couple positive reviews mentioning Slav after I contacted Walters Gilbreath to handle my case because I was too busy working to handle it myself, so I thought I was in good hands. Nope. There were many errors that I caught on paperwork he did.
Travis County made an error on the lien I had filed on my ex-husband’s house in 2015, and Slav basically said there was nothing I could do about that.
My ex-was trying to get me to drop the $1000/mo spousal maintenance because he had to go on disability. He hadn’t been paying anything for the past 8 years except for the 2 years he was garnished.
John Hennan was my ex-husband’s attorney and he kept making lowball offers that I had TOLD Slav I would not accept, but, to run up the bill with 6-min minimum calls, Slav would call me himself, saying he was obligated to present all offers. It was also interfering with my job, which was also a huge issue.
Luckily I had a friend in California who is an attorney and she was happy to read the documents that Slav sent, and pointed out several errors, and she made helpful recommendations.
As far as Travis county and the lien error, I used my lunch break to contact them, showed them the error, and told the clerk I needed the corrected lien ASAP because my ex- was trying to sell his house quickly through Zillow. The Travis Clerk was amazing. She not only made the correction, but she emailed and mailed a certified copy that I was able to send to Zillow.
I had to pay a $5000 retainer for someone to just use it all up and ask me to sign documents with errors.
I will never use this firm again.
I would have done it pro se if I didn’t live in WilCo and have a great day job.

I searched around and spoke to a few lawyers that didn’t want to take my simple divorce case. I continued searching, and then found the Shannon Family Law Firm. The reviews are not perfect, but overall there seemed to be more pleased clients who used them. So I decided to call and I won’t go into a lot of detail, but I have spoken with the paralegal Jodie Ward-House and attorney Richard Shannon whom I have decided to hire for my case. Jodie and Richard have been very kind and thorough in explaining the details of how my particular case should work if all goes well. My case is new and just starting. I may post another review in the future about this firm after my case is finished. However, based on the previous phone conversation I had with Jodie and phone consultation I had with Richard Shannon was very pleasing. We’ll see how this goes. I would recommend them if need consultation about a divorce case. I have a better understanding about my particular case.
