Trustworthy, responsive, ethical, considerate, fair, real, honest, reassuring, committed, gritty, and a perfectionist to the very degree you need him to be is how to describe Eric Bernheim at FLB. But most of all.. overwhelming dedicated and intelligent. We were able to win a highly complicated, intense, and non-favoring case (involving residential property rights x easement x utility company x conservation) because of his unwavering focus and exquisite strategy. Sadly, a member of my family was served a restraining order, which was an over-reaction to a personal disagreement. We were concerned that if a breach of this order occurred (even accidentally) it would result in a felony offense. With only 2 days notice, Attorney Anthony met with us for background on our situation, made himself available for court and systematically dismantled the complaint and made the plaintiff look ridiculous. Very professional, knowledgeable and made us feel prepared and well represented!

I was in the process of losing my home to foreclosure and was referred to Atty. Woermer by my colleague. I did not understand the process and was not sure that I could even retain the property. Atty. If I could mark this as a negative 10 I would. Attorney Powers took my retainer, assured me everything would be fine, etc etc etc. Then did ZERO work (which I learned about when he passed me to a new attorney 2 weeks before trial which I also learned was taking place on the same call).
My divorce was fairly black and white - had my attorney done his job. I turned all discovery materials around in a timely manner and he did NOTHING with them (while making it seem like he was doing something). Due to his total negligence, the court prevented me from entering certain evidence. Ultimately, I have to live with an outcome that can never be corrected, one that will impact my daughter's financial future forever (by way of hundreds of thousands in lost child support). Even in the 2-3 months since, he has completely ignored every email (though he is reading them), ran into my new attorney in court (promising he'd reach out so we could come to an agreement - if only to get my retainer back), he didn't even reply to a simple request for an apology. He does talk non stop, even more annoyingly when it's about his extremely expensive watch collection yet he's not paying me a cent back...
No one "loves" lawyers, but this was beyond despicable (the judge who mediated over my divorce even made it clear to me that this was absolutely a case of legal malpractice). I put my life in his hands and he literally ruined it. I will be digging myself out of this mess for the rest of my life. Horrible experience, save yourself the anguish - hire anyone on the planet but him.

I thought it would be easier to write this review. But as I started typing I realized just how much emotion was underlying this whole process. Bankruptcy is tough to say the least. My advice to anyone about to go through this? Hire Joseph! His great communication, knowledge, and timeliness made things soo much less painful. Joseph is not average at what he does. This is one of those processes where you need exceptional! And when the process is over, there is this feeling, this chance, to breathe fresh oxygen again! It saddens me to have to write a review like this but given the situation, I feel it's best to get this out into the public to warn any future clients.
I am writing this review to express my utmost disappointment with the legal services provided by Heidi E. Opinsky. Unfortunately, my experience with her has been nothing short of frustrating. I hired her for a Prenuptial Agreement and ultimately, had to hire someone else since she was not able to come through in a timely matter. I outline all of the issues below.
First and foremost, communication was a major issue throughout the entire process. I spent the time to visit her at her home in mid-March 2023, and did not hear from her or her paralegal Oksana until I had to reach out myself about 7 weeks later, only to be told nothing was done yet.
Despite multiple attempts to reach out via email, I received little to no response from Heidi at times. When I did receive a response, it was often delayed and failed to address the concerns or questions I had raised. This lack of timely communication caused unnecessary delays and added to the overall frustration of the situation. It took over 3 months to get a first draft of the agreement.
Furthermore, I was deeply dissatisfied with the way misrepresented her schedule. I was under the impression that my case would receive the attention and priority it deserved, but unfortunately, that was far from the reality. It became evident that my case was not given the necessary time and effort, leaving me feeling neglected and disregarded as a client. She had a trial that she did not tell me about when I met with her. The trial took precedent clearly over my legal matters.
Lastly, it is worth mentioning that the documents prepared by Heidi contained numerous spelling errors and were clearly rushed. This lack of attention to detail and professionalism is simply unacceptable, considering the importance and sensitivity of legal matters. I wound up editing my own prenuptial agreement since it took her almost a month to make two quick changes that took me a total of 4 minutes to make.
As a result of all of the aforementioned issues, I thought it was best to obtain another lawyer (who was able to write up a very thorough prenuptial agreement within one week of meeting him); something that should have been taken care by her given the time I gave her. This cost me additional thousands of dollars.
Overall, my experience with Heidi E. Opinsky was nothing short of a disappointment. The lack of communication, misrepresentation of availability, failure to provide requested services, and the presence of spelling errors in legal documents, all highlight a significant lack of professionalism and dedication. I would strongly caution anyone considering legal services from Heidi to seek alternative options.
I sincerely hope that Heidi and her staff takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements to provide a better experience for future clients.

After speaking with many lawyers in Connecticut for a year I always came away with the feeling that without $10,000 up front I would never have representation for my divorce. They also didn't seem to understand the issues. Enter Attorney Peter Berdon! The first time I spoke with Peter he immediately understood the underlying issues and was very thoughtful with answering my questions, (I had a lot of them!) he also advised me on new issues that he alone recognized and always made me feel respected during the process.
