I was attempting to locate a decades old divorce decree online with no success after several hours of trying. By chance, just happened to click on a website, not knowing it was a law firm, but a phone number attached to my question. It was after 5 pm in Connecticut, yet Mr. Stanger answered. After explaining what I was looking for, this man looked up a phone number for me to call where I could find what I was looking for.

Denise agreed to represent me but handed my case off to her assistant Adam Laben. He has been rude and neglectful. He has hurt my case more than helped.He did not subpoena my witnesses after multiple conversations asking him too. I have asked numerous times to speak with Denise and Adam call, text and email but refuses to let me talk to her. They have used all of the money I gave them and drawn out a case that should have ended months ago. My children are the ones who are suffering the most from not getting proper representation and goes into court not even know the case details I clearly discussed with him more than once and brought court documents for evidence.

Jonathan Lane quite literally saved my life. I can say in the beginning he was very knowledgeable seemed like he wanted to help protect me and my special needs child. Towards the end just seems like he did not care anymore he knew exactly what was happening, the fact that my supposed victim I threatened me and my child, was a known drug dealer, known to be married and frauding the government, proven to lie directly to a judge.the fact that she was I was told this is not substantial to my case. But then was told by several different attorneys it should have been included. The fact that he said I shouldn't have been arrested but did nothing about it as he was not at my arraignment. Seems when I got another attorney to ask him questions everything kind of went sideways as I was being told by Mr young one thing and being proven by different attorneys that was not the case. I spent my life savings trying to protect my special needs child that Mr Young knew was in very realistic possible danger period yeah he did nothing to prove my innocence just question me as if I was the bad guy never directly answering questions

Overall rating is merely average, with no lasting impressive litigation or art of deal making skills.
I originally sought Attorney Storm out as he was geographically separated from my social circle (and that of my spouse) and reviews available online indicated he was “aggressive” and had dealt favorable endings for male clients with children.
Unfortunately, it seemed he had a cynical view of his clients and make no mistake, his legal methodology is to settle cases (instead of pursuing a trial result) with a desire to land in a “zone of reasonableness” - which will likely not be in the client’s best interest. Only when opposing counsel took aggressive actions and motions did I see some desire and potential skill to litigate. Nonetheless, this was short lived. He also has some uncanny obsession with telling you to change your “way of thinking” on certain matters including client proposals or requests. He is keen on using a third party for parenting plan consensus instead of going to the court family relations branch or negotiating with opposing counsel himself. While this may (or may not) accelerate things, it comes at a steep price and adds another variable to the separation process.
Prior to the final disposition, I also must note that I did clearly ask to be sent a final copy (understanding it would uncertified) of the agreement and stipulation documents and when all was said and done, I got nothing beyond “You are divorced” in an email (with no attachments or follow up).
Pros- he is largely responsive (returns calls and e-mails quick enough but doesn’t always hit every point). He has a very nice office and his paralegal is very polite, professional and responsive. He seems familiar with Hartford Family court personnel and procedures.
Cons- encourages clients to be “flexible” - but around his own schedule first and foremost of course. His rate at $400/hr is no bargain and he doesn’t have much sympathy for the financial state of his clients. Only when the case was all but finalized, he made a final concession on a pay now discount of sorts. His estimate on an initial retainer will likely only take you 6 months in with no disposition guarantee- and by his own admission, a simple divorce takes closer to a year.

I am so impressed on how hard Attorney Storm worked on my behalf.

If you hire this individual to represent you, you will live to regret it. My experience with Rich started when he helped me with a home closing. That was actually ok. But A few years I hired him to represent me in a divorce. That was frankly one of my biggest mistakes. He is at times unorganized (never did he even provide an itemized bill - requested many times however) and at times he seems unable to even provide minimal guidance or even effective negotiations. In the end, with the divorce 2 weeks from "closing" he chose to retire from the case...which frankly was ok. Our relationship was strained to say the least. Again, for what you will end up paying this man, he is not worth it. Please also keep in mind that he is a one man operation with serious health issues. If you hire him, good luck.

I am forever thankful to have Rich on my side for my separation case. It is never easy with children involved, and there were so many hurt feelings it was hard for myself and the other parent to see eye to eye. Rich sat and listened to my story, and immediately gave me insight and direction. Thankfully we didn’t need to go through the entire court process; we settled some differences through mediation. My experience with Attorney Hide Inga was horrible. I tried for months, from approximately March 2023 to the ending of my case in November 2023, Attorney Inga did not do his due diligence. I asked for several documents that he never got from the opposing lawyer. I repeatedly asked in emails and in person and he repeatedly ignored my insistence to get that paperwork. When I asked for my alimony to be amended he told me that he would do it and it was never done. The court in March had ordered the alimony to be ammended. I told him that more than once. His paralegal Duane told me that he had done it and in fact it had not been done. When I asked to update the equity of the home to the present at the time, his response was that it would only be a little bit more money and he ultimately never did it. He seemed to have very little concern for my future financial situation. He was not sensitive at all to my disability and what my divorce meant for my future stability as a disabled person. I was forced to accept an outcome that I was not happy about because he repeatedly allowed the opposing lawyer to wait until the last minute to submit an agreement. In an email it was communicated to him that I needed atleast two weeks to look over paperwork and make a decision. The last agreement by the opposing lawyer was submitted on October 30th and my court date was November 1st. It was not the same as the agreement I had signed approximately a month prior. I was told by Duane that it was the same but the legal language was a bit different, and in fact it had a lot more added on to it. Because of the increasing fear as a result of the constant back and forth with Attorney Inga and his paralegal Duane, and inability to continue being at odds with my own lawyer, the fear of not knowing what would happen in court with the situation and not having any money to get another lawyer, I consented to the last agreement. Because at that point I could clearly see that he was not really interested or concerned about my case. I was under too much stress and felt worn down. He repeatedly acted as if a little more money was of no consequence, but when it came to the last $1,000.00 that I owed him, he took it without a problem from me and he even tried to get me to forget about the worth of the plow that I asked for, stating that I would only get about $1,200. 00. It was only a little bit of money for me and my future, but for him every penny counted. I regret hiring him and wish I had noticed that he had a disciplinary action against him in the past. I am distraught at the way he and Duane treated me. I am distressed about the negligence and indifference that he showed during the months he represented me. I felt run over and mistreated by him and his office and I do not recommend Attorney Inga.

Robert m Elliot is a good lawyer. He helped me win my case but he is overly pricey. I should’ve listened to the review I read about him saying he was money hungry but unfortunately I did not. In my initial meeting with him he stated that cases he deals with are usually around $4k but in the end charged nearly $12k before the curtsey credit. When I tried to speak with him about the bill he told me there was nothing he could do about it and then said he was going to hang up in which he did. I will NEVER hire him again. Taking money from my child’s mouth doesn’t sit right with me.

Frank was not a good attorney at all. He did not represent my boyfriend properly. He completely screwed him with his sentencing and lied about what was said to the judge in court and did not contact us for over three months up until his final court date, he never answered and even blocked our number. He also did not make sure hi ls current jail credit was applied and leave us to try and scramble to tie up all these loose ends ourselves, it took forever for him to do anything. If you don’t want to do the work, don’t take the case. He begged him to move his sentencing up and he wouldn’t even do that. I do not recommend him at all. You should be ashamed of yourself playing with peoples lives this way.

On Oct 7th I had a court date because a tenant put a restraining order on me in my own house saying that I don’t live there, I hired the service of attorney Cocco, he charged me $1,800 in cash, he just accept money order o cash, he doesn’t accept any other payment method.
He did not give me a copy of the contract we signed for his services, no receipt of payment, he only said take a picture. Can you believe that??
That day he did not make the slightest effort to defend me, we had everything to win, but he insisted through questions and preambles to try to get the judge to set an appointment for another day, I don't know for what purpose. 🤔
He obviously lost the case and only told me "you didn't tell me about the shoe" as if a hearing depended on a single argument, or he didn't know the laws. 🤨
He no listen, always is in his rush, we get together twice just for 10 minutes, and he was only interested in the payment. He talked more about the payment than the case in those 10 minutes. That was my experience.!

These attorneys have very questionable ethics. My mother-in-law has Alzheimer’s and dementia and they had her sign to revoke a POA so her scheming husband could take her retirement inheritance. She was not of sound mind and state health officials have attested to it. I guess if you want attorneys that are not ethical, go with these guys.

This contact explained that she was actually the opposing counsel in her prior divorce proceedings and was preferred to her own attorney. She has a welcoming, warm, and supportive interpersonal approach that immediately will create a sense of comfort ability and peace of mind. She breaks down the process very well and makes all easy to navigate. Her approach is objective, balanced, and is responsive to all requests. She made an extremely challenging and traumatic situation bearable and was very direct and transparent with goings ons, keeping me in the loop and breaking down every pertinent detail. It’s good to know kindness and fierceness can co-exist in this world. Two essential qualities of someone working as your advocate during challenging times!
