Mr. Gilpin has a 5 star rating for a reason. I went through the experience of have other attorneys saying I did not qualify for Bankruptcy and suggested an even more costly repayment plan. Mr. Gilpin actually found that I did qualify and was very straight forward and explained each and every detailed step throughout the ENTIRE process. I never once had to wait until he was available and he always returned my calls within minutes. I HIGHLY recommend you go with him. He gives you the information needed and as long as you do what is needed of you the man can work it out for you. Micheal Slider is the best! He and Ms. Sharma fought tooth and nail in my cases. In spite of several felony cases that should have led me to prison for 10 years, The Slider Law firm was persistent and diligent in their argument with on my behalf. Ms. Cusic was a pleasure to speak to from the onset when I was going through the initial vetting process for a divorce attorney. Though my attorney was Ms. Horton, who is part of Ms. Cusic's firm, it was Ms. Cusic's demeanor and open and honest initial consult that left me with the choice to ultimately decide to choose her firm over the dozen or so others I vetted. And I'm glad I did. From the initial evaluation of the case to the continuing communication throughout the whole process I was truly impressed. Not only was the process easy for me but also for my ex-spouse as this was an amicable divorce. I would highly recommend both Ms. Horton and Ms. Cusic for your divorce matters. Mr. McCarty had prepared estate documents for my parents. When my father passed last year, we had so many things to work through. We asked for Mr. McCartys help through our transition including Probate. He was a pleasure to work with in that difficult time. I had the pleasure of being represented by Walter Schouten. Ironically, he was referred to me by an attorney that I consulted with. I was told to call Walter because he is very knowledgeable and he's an outstanding trial lawyer. Walter took on my case and he was assisted by an amazing paralegal in Vanessa Enciso. This dynamic duo believed that they could help my situation in securing me a new trial for a custody case. They went to work immediately. This was 2 weeks after I lost at trial while being represented by a different firm.
Long story long...Walter was able to get me a new trial, and he was able to get the judge to change her previous ruling. I am now the custodial parent of my 7 year old son.
I have to admit that even if I wasn't awarded custodial rights, I was more than satisfied with the representation and would have been able to live with the ruling a lot easier. Knowing that I was being properly represented was huge for me. Especially since the previous firm I hired for this case was absolutely terrible.

A friend of mine recommended Hal after my friend went through a tough divorce with joint custody. I expected a difficult joint custody battle and wanted a lawyer who was willing to fight. Hal was always very knowledgeable, direct, professional, and polite. He politely but directly let me know exactly why some of the things I wanted were inconsistent with Texas law. He also set expectations of mediation and if we had to go to court. Hal's ability to read people is even greater than his knowledge of the law. He was up front and honest about billing and everything went as we initially discussed. Hal and his team were very fair and accurate with the billing. When I contacted them they always answered my questions directly and did not keep me on the phone longer than I was willing to talk and they never contacted me unless it was necessary. When I asked Hal about opposing counsel he answered me honestly of their abilities, helping to set expectations. Due to Hal's advice, ability to read and accommodate me, the outcome was favorable to myself and child. I will use him in the future, if necessary.

This review is a long time coming. I've worked with and relied on Shannon on three separate occasions over custody disputes of my eldest daughter. On all three occasions she was able to improve my situation and on two of those occasions where my situation was improved, I was on defense where I was the one that got served papers.
I believe that Shannon's prowess as an attorney actually comes from her compassion for her clients. She really does take the time to listen to and understand the unique situations that each case brings and understand and empathize with the situation. We had our child via surrogate; however, during the height of covid the number of guests in the hospital was limited. Our gestational carrier agreement was in another state and our child was birth in TX. The hospital couldn't do anything to help us and the birth mother was listed as the mother on the birth certificate. To have this change to my name was a challenge. I was charged with retaliation (threatening to kill a police officer). I was acting stupid and of course I didn’t mean any of that. Pretty sure the police knew it but they don’t take kindly to perceived threats. Wood had the case thrown out in less than ten minutes.

My son was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery and Felon with a Weapon cases based on a lie. The police arrested him with ZERO evidence other than lies told by an acquaintance. Sad to say the DA accepted charges based on nothing but the say so of a known liar and criminal. Seems like the cops round up whoever and like magic - “Another case closed!” NOT. Then the judge held him at NO BOND because of his past convictions. Wood convinced the DA’s to dismiss it but in case they wouldn’t, Wood kept asking theme to go to the grand jury with it so he could set it for trial.
Took a month or so but finally both cases were dismissed. I told my son to pick his acquaintances better but sometimes even your own kids need to learn some lessons on their own.

I hired Dr. Jones during an ugly custody battle. As a father, I felt my concerns/points were not being taken seriously by the courts and my ex wife was playing the abused wife victim card even though the mental/physical abuse was actually done to me. Dr. Jones worked 24/7 on my case and was available to me 100% of the time. He basically held my hand and walked me through every step of the process. He brought in things our prior attorney (who had told me I would only get standard possession if courts believed me). Thanks to Dr. Jones, i am now the primary custodian of my children with 50/50 visitation for both parents. As a father, I can now help protect my kids and it is all thanks to Dr. Jones.
