Ms. Kamal was the answer to my prayers! She's the best family law attorney I have had in 13 years. I wish I had hired her earlier. She knows the law and legal technicalities and embarrasses the counsel by just quoting the actual law and rules. She is highly knowledgeable and compassionate.
Her attention to detail and ability to control the situation set her apart from others.
She was blunt and honest about my situation. Though that was not what I wanted to hear, she didn't give me any false hope. She represented me on two enforcement cases and oh boy! She got both lawsuits dismissed on the basis of legal technicalities. She lifted such a huge weight off my shoulders. She and her team was very persistent and strategic to helping me get the best possible outcome in my situation.

I was recommended by the EAP (Employee Assistance Program) for Federal Employees. I had a very complicated situation for my divorce due to my spouse being a non-citizen and in another country. Her vast knowledge has been very sharp and made sure I got the best in the end of the mediation.
Not only did she work hard to make sure every dollar count, she fought for me during my struggles of the Government Shutdown. When I was tight financially, she was willing to work out a payment plan. She made sure that I understood the process and the rights of both parties and the custody.
Although she is straight forward and to the point, she is one of the most compassionate lawyers I have ever worked with. I would recommend her to anyone who needs help in Family law and Immigration. I have consulted with other law firms prior to her and she has left me a beautiful impression of what a true lawyer should be. Willing to fight for the client and for what is right!

I hired my attorney because I needed someone with wisdom and maturity to handle a very tricky case. I explained to Mr. Baker that he would be defending me against the devil incarnate! His reply was that he "has put lipstick on a few pigs before!" And in fact he has been successful at doing so. We have won our case in court and we are currently still fighting a matter for which I am confident that we will prevail. Mike is the best attorney I have ever worked with. (And I have hired TONS of attorneys of all types). He has the experience to take your case through litigation and give you the voice to be heard. A year and a half ago I filed for divorce and hired a cheap attorney not knowing anything about how difficult this journey would be that I was embarking on. After a month into my divorce I realized quickly that this would be immensely difficult and had doubts. In family law it is absolutely true that you get what you put in. I found Mike through word of mouth, another success story, and dropped the first attorney as fast as I could.
I am forever grateful I did.
My divorce was intensely complex with a multi-generational custody battle split four ways and Mike navigated through it all. He was always fair, always realistic and demonstrated integrity where the opposing council failed repeatedly. He represented me in hearing after hearing, mediation after mediation and finally a week long trial against two other attorney's and a pro-se. Mr. Calzada was available by email and I could even call his cell phone. He talked to me like a real person. He spent the time to explain my case and walked me through what was needed from me and what to expect. His offices were that of a very expensive high end attorney, but he never talked down to me. I always felt at ease. When we finally went to court, he tore the other side to shreds. He was 100% at ease in court. It made me feel confident. I was VERY happy with my result. I would absolutely recommend Dan Kirby as a divorce attorney. He helped me when I was faced with an unexpected divorce after 21 years of marriage. Dan helped me navigate through a divorce in 2013 with reliable, prompt attention and wise council. Dan is the type of lawyer, if children are involved, will look out for the family as a whole and ultimately what is in the best interest of the children in the long run not to mention you, his client. Mr. Sykes helped my fiance and I divert a custody train wreck. My fiance's antagonistic ex-wife had denied visitation, disappeared with their daughters, re-arranged the cars on her driveway when she left to force him to park on a dangerous street, and demanded he call the cops (in spite of a pandemic). My fiance went months without seeing his daughters during their divorce, and she has attempted to deny visitation in years past, but we've always been able to get a civil standby to convince her otherwise... but not this time.
We were preparing to file a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus and Emergency Motion for Return of Child[ren], which would have opened a very contentious and expensive can of worms, when Mr. Sykes gave us very specific and strategic advice to put the lid back on an explosive situation.
Long story short... hell froze over, and she apologized. She also offered to make up the time. We hope this is the last time we'll need Mr. Sykes legal guidance for custody matters, but if we do, we know it will be money well spent (or saved! Depending on how you look at it). :)

I found myself in the unfortunate situation of being served a petition from one of those aggressive family lawyers. I met with Grady and hired him to defend me in this matter.
Grady took the time to fully understand the case and its nuances, and we met and discussed various legal strategies. The case took about a year to resolve due to various complicating factors including an overlapping issue in another court system that could have had corollary effects on the family case.
Throughout this time, Grady was unflappable. With his knowledge of the family law system and significant experience, Grady helped me navigate the various choices throughout the process. Additionally, Grady collaborated well with other attorneys helping to bridge the gap in styles.
His approach was very practical given his knowledge of what might work or not work depending on the circumstances. He conducted himself with a high degree of integrity and was never looking to do extra work just to over-bill me (which is oftentimes the case with divorce attorneys).
I am forever thankful for his work.

I wish I could rate her more than 5-star as rating just 5 star is not enough for a person who is so dedicated to a profession, so caring for those in distress and above all for those who have been burnt previously by a class of greedy, money-hungry , unprofessional attorneys.

I met with Yalda because I needed help with a custody case. I had become frustrated with other lawyers I consulted with, most of them barely gave me the time of day. Yalda spent over an hour with me on a free consultation and me feel as my case was all that mattered to her. As an attorney, she was sharp in court and was always prepared for whatever the my ex's attorney would argue. Yalda was also great at keeping me informed on the case. This was the second time I had been to trial for custody.
