I was charged with DWI (1st offense), and for a serious offense one needs strong legal representation. I was fortunate to have Alison Smith represent me. She is highly knowledgeable, with a dose of tenacity and tact. A professional attorney with a strong presence who had a good grasp of my situation while, maintaining her patience as court proceedings are daunting and time consuming.
Excellent in communication as she relayed in timely manner activities to fulfill my court obligations/prerequisites/procedures before attending the court.
Importantly, I was able to secure my Drivers License from the very get go which could have immobilized me that could have vastly affected my family.
My charges were reduced.
I would definitely recommend her.

In dealing with a time crunched surprise from the ex wife stating I would not get my kids for my visitation with absolutely no legal grounds. I was limited on time and living out of state I needed to get home. Not only did Miss Gordon go above and beyond she successfully got me my children only 2 days late. So within 4 days of consulting with her and her guiding me and my ex wife's lawyer on legality I now get to spend my summer visitation in our new home in Alabama. My kids get to shoot, fish, hunt, camp. They get to be boys with their dad and I owe this all to her. She even checked up on us out the kindness of her heart. I owe her all this time im getting. I deal with this at least twice a year with my ex wife and I can honestly say this is my first timely victory. Miss Gordon's legal knowledge and even more so her heart far surpassed expectations. I contacted Evelyn to handle a my divorce as the previous attorney i had hired was a terrible choice. She took on my case very last minute and went right to work. She was very professional, knew her law, spent time with me without making me feel like my questions were insignificant and handled my case with detail and confidence. Howard is an excellent and incredibly effective attorney. I first met him when he was the company attorney for the IT company I was working for in the early 2000's. He help me apply for my H1B visa and even after leaving the company, I sought him out to apply for my greencard and eventually my citizenship. During that process, I was very pleased with how responsive he was to my questions, whether by email or by phone. When I had a case for another family member, I did not give a second thought as to who I was going to consult. Reached out to Mr. Longino for assistance for a very, very difficult child support case between two states. After two TX, and two California attorney's, and no end in sight because of the difficulty of my case, Mr. Longino was very knowledgeable in this area and was able to assist and get us closer to the finish line that we had never been in 4 years. As frustrated as I have been going from court in CA, TX, and back to CA, I am now better prepared to fight this battle with the help from Mr. Longino.

Based on my experience with Ms Proffitt and her team, I’m convinced that the negative reviews must be other side who got beat or someone who thought this team should work for free. I always received communication, Ms Proffitt kicked my ex’s butt (he refers clients to her now), she discounted or didn’t charge for work she completed, and her entire team is top notch. I hired Ms Proffitt in the middle of this pandemic. She explained to me that the courts were operating under very different rules and timeframes, but that she would do everything in her power to help my children and me through an abusive and financially draining situation. Her and her staff were always responsive. I followed their direction to send messages through their office portal (MyCase) and I never had difficulties gets answers. I have read some of the negative reviews and this was simply not my experience. Her entire staff is helpful beyond measure. Ms Proffitt has compassion for her clients. She truly loves her job. Additionally, she was very generous with her time. I know she could have charged me much more than she did. I highly recommend this attorney.

Working with E.Z. Ilionsky has been a pleasure. He has answered every single one of my calls personally, and did an excellent job explaining everything that was going on with court and the process in which he was going use to get the best results. Interestingly enough I met atty Daniel Grey on an off chance. He was at mediation that I was not a party to, and I was in the building for other reasons. As we crossed paths and began speaking he gave me his business card and said something to the effect of “you never know when you may need my services”. As I walked away I thought ‘how did he know’. Long story short within 6months I needed his services. That was about 13 years ago. He not only was a great attorney but he advocated for all sides which is not like many family law attorneys. He helped me see things from my child’s perspective and my spouse at the time. In doing so it made the divorcing with children much more smoother for all parties involved. Over the years I have referred over a dozen of friends & colleagues to him during their time of need and he has always shown great detail and concern to them in the same manner he showed to me. I am only writing this review now because I recently referred someone to him. Though he could not represent the guy due to the county he lived in he still took the time to call him after work hours and be a calming voice and help him him understand the process, ease his mind and refer him to two other lawyers that specialized in that county. I am blown away by this. No charge and he gained nothing other than respect and this review. So many other lawyers won’t even talk to paying clients during the day and a night call is not a thing. So for Daniel to do this was going beyond the pale. I am so thankful for our chance encounter all of those years ago and all the help he has provided to me and to all that have been referred. If you want a lawyer who shoots straight and treats each client even opposing counsel as family & friend to work on a fair settlement he is your guy. This is not about money for him, he truly cares. I was referered to Ms.Rowland by a another attorney who felt that she was a better fit for my case. My case started out as a CPS case with a protection order later added. Ms.Rowland on our 1st court date won and my custody order remained unchanged. Then instead of having to attend court the next day over a protective order she was able to get that withdrew and held mediation instead which resulted only in minimal changes. Ms.Rowland was always very upfront with me and always gave me the choices of very best outcome or the worst outcome. She was always a phone call away no matter the day or time. As a mother also she would sit and let me cry and just listen she truly understands and is truly all in with her clients. Her fees are reasonable and she explains that fully in your consultation. First let me say...do not go into a divorce without your own attorney!!! I almost waited too long to hire Dawn. While on the phone, she pulled the information on the courthouse records she told me to get in as soon as I could that afternoon. It wasn't what was stated in the paperwork it was the ambiguous terms that were used.
Dawn is direct, aggressive, very busy which sometimes makes her hard to reach and a darn good negotiator. She knows her stuff. Don't go see her if you want a shrink...go to her if you want to be well represented. Make sure your expectations are realistic and you will do well.
The "friendly" divorce paperwork was full of open ended statements that would have cost me more than my legally fair share. With that being said she warned me right from the beginning that we are now negotiating a business transaction not a friendly settlement. You can go back to friendly after the divorce is final.
You have to take care of your interests and Dawn will do that for you in legalese if you let her. Sometimes you wonder where she is going in her logic... but just sit back, watch and listen...she knows what she is doing. I think if I had been as aggressive as she suggested I may have done better...but I couldn't let go of the relationship. Remember if you are enlisting the help of an attorney (Dawn)...your relationship is over...so let her get down to business.
She is very good in mediation. She understands how to effectively work through the process. She should since she offers mediation services in her practice.
I think the most impressive thing and the sign of a well respected attorney is when we went to the courthouse (unfortunately we had to go), she was known by many of the court employees, officials and other attorneys that were waiting for their time slot.
If you are reading this I am sorry you are having to go through it...but I think Dawn is a good choice. By the way she was recommended to me by another satisfied client.

This was the first time I used this law firm. They were great with getting my mother's green card renewed and making sure my husband got his permanent residency. Every part of dealing with Chris was a positive experience. She is has solid integrity, is a great lawyer and has a get it done attitude. She has a great attention to detail but is also very responsive. She looks at ways to speed up the process and reduce expenses, and I am sure she was conservative in the hours billed.
The other side's attorneys were not responsive and not organized. Chris made up for it, did way more than our share so we could get the divorce finalized by the end of the year. I am convinced that if I did not choose Chris that we would still be dealing with this divorce 5 months later.
Chris also has great communication skills. She was a leader in the collaborative meetings and a voice of calm, humor and reason (which I needed) in our many one on one chats.
I honestly can only think of positive experiences in regards to working with Chris. I am cheap, but I never felt bad when writing a check for the professional services I received.
I am sure no divorce is easy. A tough time for all involved. I luckily chose Chris as my attorney in a collaborative divorce and have never regretted the choice I made..

I assumed, wrongly, this proceeding would go rather smoothly as there were no children to contend with. My now ex wanted the 50% of the house and 50% of the IRA. I owned the house outright before the marriage, and one of the IRA's I earned prior to marriage so not community property. Chris provided the other attorney with case law, and figures from the house and IRA's to prove our point. There was still money to be distributed, but not to the extent the other party requested. Chris has done this before and knows how to put together spreadsheets to demonstrate her point of few. She is easy to talk to, accessible. The entire process works better if the client provides requested information on a timely basis. It keeps everything moving.

I had the pleasure of being represented by Walter Schouten. Ironically, he was referred to me by an attorney that I consulted with. I was told to call Walter because he is very knowledgeable and he's an outstanding trial lawyer. Walter took on my case and he was assisted by an amazing paralegal in Vanessa Enciso. This dynamic duo believed that they could help my situation in securing me a new trial for a custody case. They went to work immediately. This was 2 weeks after I lost at trial while being represented by a different firm.
Long story long...Walter was able to get me a new trial, and he was able to get the judge to change her previous ruling. I am now the custodial parent of my 7 year old son.
I have to admit that even if I wasn't awarded custodial rights, I was more than satisfied with the representation and would have been able to live with the ruling a lot easier. Knowing that I was being properly represented was huge for me. Especially since the previous firm I hired for this case was absolutely terrible.

Gardner has done what I thought was impossible- enforcing my divorce decree. My ex-husband is a lawyer and even though he agreed to the divorce decree, after it was final he told me he wouldn't pay child support and would bring my son home when he felt like it. He said if I didn't like it then to take him to court.
After four years, of trying to be understanding and work things out, I reluctantly turned back to the courts to intervene. Gardner was recommended by a trusted friend. He understood the situation and the personality of my ex-husband immediately, which was incredibly helpful. He was focused and never gave up through all the legal antics. Much quicker than I ever imagined possible, he stopped my ex-husband from changing the schedule and he also actually got him to start paying child support! I am still just amazed.

I came to Me. Eastland when I needed help handling my divorce. Before I even hired him he agreed to review my case and help me. Once hired it took only a few weeks to come to a settlement and complete the divorce. Any questions I had during the whole ordeal I would text to him and get an immediate response. Even to this day, 4 months after my divorce was finalized, I can send him a text if I have any questions or need some advice. Hired Mr. BURLESON to defend me against a bogus charge in Harris County. Supplied him with video/photos of my vehicle and took a polygraph test (passed) , he compiled a report, presented it to the GJ and a month later my case was dismissed. Can't ask for much more than that....

Keyla Robertson was my lawyer from Nov 2019 to Sept 2020. From our first encounter all the way up to our very last encounter, she dug in deep to fight for the reunification of my family.
