They have had our money for almost a year for a cut and dry custody case on my step daughter and haven’t done a damn thing. Mother agrees to terms and willing to sign. We’ve had full custody for almost 2 years now. Now our taxes are being withheld for non payment of child support because NOTHING has been done. The first thing they were to do was to cancel that and we were told it was simple. Why hasn’t it been done in a year? We have requested a refund at this point to find an attorney that will do the job. Let’s see if they respond this time. Communication on their part has been a major fail.

I made a cardinal mistake in trusting in the law by self-representing during a hostile divorce. Consulted with Dustin on how to fix it and he was upfront and realistic. He doesn't do appeals but helped me finding someone that does (which is much easier said than done in this area). I just wish I would have relied on him before things got bad.

Going through any court experience is hard and when it comes to a custody hearing involving your children, to me, that is the hardest situation to go through. The very first time I had gone to court I was so terrified & could not keep myself from being emotional, to the point I asked for it to be dismissed before it started because I just wanted to go home and hold my babies. If you are a parent whose children are your heart and you need a lawyer for your case, run to Dustin. He listened to me and I felt he genuinely cared about the outcome of mine and my children’s future, he responds to emails and texts so quickly, his paralegal Heather is an angel & quickly became an ear to listen to my concerns and fears and she is always so very kind to me, she always answers emails and phone calls and she talked to me as long as I needed her to just so I’d feel okay again. Dustin represented me in a way that you pray you’ll be represented in any court. When I had to testify Dustin was right there with me throughout it all, calming me down and telling me that I was okay and giving me words of encouragement when I had to read some of the painful things involved in my case. I couldn’t sleep the week before court, but if I would have known how amazing of a lawyer Dustin is and how hard he will fight for you, I wouldn’t have been nervous at all. I will recommend Dustin to everyone. As someone that doesn’t trust easily, I can assure you, you can trust Dustin, you can feel confident that he is great at what he does and sleep peacefully up until the court date no matter what it’s pertaining to because if you have Dustin as your lawyer, your case is being handled by the best and safest person it could be. While we did win our case, even if we lost, I’d still be giving 5-stars. Mr. Williams helped my 80+ year old father and our family with a Civil Domestic Violence case in Durham County against his X-girlfriend. Mr. Williams set expectations from the beginning that we have a high probability to win our case, but it won’t be easy and there is no guarantee as the defense may provide strong evidence as well. Part of our success is ensuring Mr. Williams has all critical evidence like videos, police reports, emails, time-lines, viable witnesses…etc. Don’t assume your attorney is going to do all the work, you need to be an active participant in organizing the evidence for him. Our court case date was rescheduled about 4 times because the court was too busy to hear our case, but after 6 months of waiting, we finally got our day in court. Mr. Williams is professional, personable and most importantly knowledgeable at conveying interpretation of the law. During our trial he was tactical introducing evidence. He did a great job conducting cross with witnesses the defense had and he was able to extract information that was beneficial to our case. He hadn’t previously asked for the defense to pay legal fees in other DVPO cases, but we were successful in this request with the judge.
This is actually the second DVPO case we’ve brought to the court this year, but our first attorney just didn’t have the “fight” we were looking for. Mr. Williams embraced that “fight” we wanted. Someone that was passionate and didn’t throw his hands up when things got tough or complex. He thought critically and creatively in presenting and justifying our case. Preparing for a trial is one skill, but thinking on the fly during a trial and having the nimbleness to adapt is a crucial skill that Mr. Williams excelled at.
Lastly, the efficiency of his office was also great! His office staff is friendly and great at communicating with upcoming court dates or other information they may need. His office staff often met us at court for the first 15-30minutes while court was getting in session and Mr. Williams was in route. Great organization and support from his office.
Loved our representation and highly recommend Mr. Williams.

Hiring Steve Epstein to help me with the many issues that I was facing regarding a very complicated and messy divorce that included a wide array of valuable assets-- a very successful company, multiple homes, expensive cars, dozens of accounts of all types, in addition to his help in regards to custody, a DWI case, being in a 5 week coma, and steering me out of significant life or death substance abuse issues, was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Steve is a zealous advocate for his clients. He is also a brilliant strategist, and his organizational skills and preparedness were top caliber. Simply put, I honestly do not even know if I would alive to write this review if it wasn't for Steve. Mr. Davenport does a good job of walking you through the process and making you realize that it's not the end of the world. However, it's not a quick process and a lot of it involves relying on an expected outcome by the judge. So, with this in mind, he will continue your case until he gets it in front of the right judge. With me, this process lasted over a year. During this time, I attended counseling and dealt with the loss of a close family member. Eventually, my case went to trial and I was found guilty. So, in hindsight, Mr. Davenport bought me some time to take care of my personal business and negotiated a guilty plea to the least offensive level; I'm grateful for this. One thing you have to consider: They (the prosecution, the defense, the judge, etc.) all know each other and they're not going to do anything to jeopardize a good working relationship. What does this mean for you? If you're guilty, you're not getting completely out of it.
