I hired Andrea for a complex divorce case with a business valuation of three separate businesses. In 2014 paid cash for our house. It was a bank owned property so the price was great. In the contract we knew that there was a tax year that hadn't been paid and we would be responsible for it. I absolutely forgot all about it...YES, MY FAULT..... and just paid our taxes every six months. In 2017 a place called Tax Ease was trying to take the house because they had bought the tax lien. I set up a payment plan with them and began making monthly payments. After paying for a year or more, the county sheriffs were at my door and served me foreclosure paperwork. The taxes that needed to be paid were from 2013. Come to find out that now there were 2 liens on the house because the year in question was split into 2 different "tax certificates" and the had bought them both. They are crooks !!! Anyway, I hired Peter who finally got them to give me a contract and payment plan the included everything. Peter saved my house. Thanks Peter.

I had consulted a few divorce attorneys before being referred to Sue. What I brought from my initial consultation with her, was her honesty on what lied ahead of me. She did not lead me into a false sense of security regarding the final outcome. I appreciated her willingness to represent me as a person, and her compassion for what I was going through. I was able to e-mail her concerns or questions about the proceedings, and she got back to me in a reasonable amount of time. Even when I had questions a couple of years after the final divorce decree, she returned my e-mail or call with the same honesty, compassion, and sincerity that she exhibited in the beginning.

I was very pleased with the service that Sue provided me with. Sue responded to my texts, calls and emails in a very reasonable manner. If she was in a meeting and couldn’t answer, she called me right back! She emailed me all documents that I needed or the information I needed to provide her with in a clear fashion. The case that we hired Martin Koop for was a very traumatic and sensitive case. It involved both children and adults so we needed a lawyer that would not only be respectful of our privacy but that would do the best by us and especially by the children. Attorney James Kirkland exceeded in all areas throughout the duration of my custody case. I'm an Ohio native, but relocated to Western Massachusetts, my sons lived in Ohio, but yearn to be with me. Although me residing out of State made the case complicated alone, Attorney Kirkland listened to my story and accepted the challenge. He was very organized, focus and reviewed every single detail and aspect that went into the case. He was not afraid to take the steps necessary to get results If there is one thing that I am sure of, is that he KNOWS THE LAW, and he knows it well. What made Kirkland unique was his approach. I usually never write a review or give excellent ratings unless it well worth it. I am not the type of guy that logs on and reviews product or services. This, however, is my exception. I was in the Marine Corps when Mr. Kirkland took my divorce case in 2012. I needed a lawyer to represent me in court because I could not attend any hearings, due to my military obligations. Mr. Kirkland not only took my case (and even though we didn't have a chance to meet face to face) he was able to fully complete my divorce decree in court. Fast forward two years later. I had another crazy summons by the ex-wife (figures). Once again I need a lawyer and decided to go back to Mr. Kirkland for legal advice. Not only did he remember me after two years, but he once again took my case and fought for me. Mr. Kirkland is an excellent lawyer at a reasonable price, and I think the most important part is that, he is military friendly. Jack Abel was my primary attorney for my divorce and I could not ask for anything more. Jack has been doing family law for 40 years and he knew every dirty trick that would be tried before the other side tried it. He researched the other side's attorney, knew that attorney would be super aggressive, and he basically judo'ed them to make them look unreasonable (they were unreasonable) which made the other side almost weak in negotiating. I felt like we were a step ahead of the other side every step of the way - Jack would tell me when to bring pictures in, when to bring family in, when to look my tip top best, what the hangups were and how we would handle them - he knew where we wanted to go, and he got us there a step ahead the entire time. Jack is a soft spoken man, slow to speak and eager to listen, a real example of wisdom. As quiet as Jack is, he has a team of absolute pitbulls around him - they go in and do the negotiations during the phase when nobody wants to give an inch, then every few sessions he would come in, a 40 year legend in the courthouse, and make an offer that the other side just couldn't refuse - and we would land exactly where he said we would. It was the perfect dichotomy and the results speak for themselves. At settlement, I had talked to my ex in private and walked back a few of the concessions that Abel and Zocolo had gotten for me. I was so satisfied that I actually gave up ground, which meant I got everything that I wanted AND was able to part ways amicably from a tough battle. A truce which lasts to this day - and was worth the give back in spades. It would not have been possible without that aura of quiet power that followed Jack when he walked into a room. The type of lawyers the other side had would have run over any average attorney - Jack was really the difference that made them know things would not go well with their unreasonable demands if they actually went into a full hearing. I won't even say some of what Jack told me - but this man has handshake power in Cleveland. Jack, Lori and the entire Team at Abel and Zocolo are everything a great team of lawyers should be - and they actually cared about me as a person, they listened to my story, and they adjusted their tactics to leverage my strengths - and it worked perfectly. My divorce was 5 years ago, and I still talk to Jack, Lori and Lisa several time a year to this day - and he refuses to send me a bill, they actually want to know how things are going, just good people. I can't say enough about the quality of Jack and the Team at AZ Law. I would't just use them again - I'd never use anybody else.

Jack was my divorce attorney almost 20 years ago. He provided excellent guidance along the way and kept me focused on the important issues instead of dwelling on the background noise. As a father working to get custody of my children, his advice was spot on and led to a successful outcome. When the case was re-opened 3 years later, Jack guided me through a custody trial, which again had a successful outcome. Could not recommend Jack more highly.

I was terrified to have to seek out a divorce lawyer. This guy is one of a kind. He doesn't treat you like the loser you feel like. He really cares and works diligently to help you get what you're entitled to. He's not cheap----but you will soon realize you are paying for top notch legal care and he actually seems to care about your case. He is so down to earth that when i first met him and he introduced himself as bob while shredding paper, i thought he was like an office helper. This guy will fight for you--and he will tell you straight up what's right and what's wrong.. Literally everything he predicted would happen with my case has happened almost to the dollar. And he handles crazy cases like same sex marriage and fights for the underdog. He also is not focused on payment; he literally undercharged me a couple of times that I wrote him long emails rambling on. I don't trust anyone but this guy is something special. anyone that can deal with the stress of divorce and how it devastates some of us is amazing. He tells it like it is.

Melanie currently handles all of my eviction and tenant/landlord disputes. I have seen her use both the carrot and the stick and she has advised me when to do the same. Every time we have to go to court I bombard her with questions afterwards, she is always ready with answers or other ideas and has a wealth of knowledge that I know I will continue to benefit from. As we continue to work together she is gaining more knowledge of my business and continues to make suggestions as it grows. She has taken considerable stress off of my shoulders knowing that she is only a question away.

Working with Melanie Mize was flawless. She is communicative, efficient, thorough, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I have heard horror stories about how frustrated people get with their attorney not being on top of things, responsive, etc. and that is certainly not the case here! I called Jeremiah when I got charged with my first OVI. He was very polite and actually listened to what I was going through. He did not try and sell me on why I should choose him. He asked pertinent questions and was straight forward with me telling me all possible outcomes. He told me his price and allowed me to shop around for other lawyers if I wanted without being pushy or a salesmen. I ended up going with him because he seemed genuine. I had never been through anything like this and it’s not a quick overnight process. When you are going through something like this a ton of questions pop up in your head and whether I called, emailed, or texted him with questions he always got back to me with a direct answer. Every ovi case and situation is different and outcomes may vary but I ended up getting charges reduced with no license suspension or points on my license. While a lot of the legal system is a cash grab, if you get caught up in a bad situation like I did, I would highly recommend giving Jeremiah a call.
