My son was in some really questionable situations with his Dad. I found Rob quickly on google and made a panic call. He called me back, talked to me for an hour or so to get a feel for my case, and we set an appointment. I was immediately impressed by him. My case was tricky, but Rob calmed my anxious mind time and time again. He never made me feel like I was a burden. I never felt taken advantage of by him and he was sensitive to my financial situation. He went the extra mile by hiring outside help when needed, and we were able to keep my son out of further harms way. He was always honest with how certain situations might play out in court. He didn’t encourage revenge or unnecessary actions that might’ve made him money. His knowledge and experience and contacts really played a huge role. I am so grateful to Rob and the hard work he put in for my family. He is worth every penny and I will always recommend him to anyone. His office staff was always top notch as well. Rob represented me during my divorce - has counseled me several times over the years with many different issues and through it all has maintained a sense of compassion and fairness. I would (and have) recommend(ed) Rob to anyone who wants an honest attorney who will give you advice on how to save money and time - he isn’t the attorney for you if your only desire is to punish your ex - or take your kids back no matter the cost. He is the attorney if you want to know what the judge would say - if you want to know the worst and best case - and if you don’t want to feel manipulated and like you just spent your last penny. First I need to say who I am to give what I have to say any value. I am a Christian, Father, Marine Veteran, and a Nurse in my Mid 30's. My mistake with Robert is that at first, I only used him for consultation when I should have had him represent me from the beginning . I thought I was smart and I could do this on my own. I was wrong and at the first court hearing it cost me both custody of my son and financially with child support. After that I knew I needed to put it all on the table, barrow money, take out a loan. I did what ever it took to have Robert represent me and try to get my son back. Two things need to be mentioned. First is you wont find cheaper out there for his 30 plus years skill set. Second is Robert is a lawyer, Not a banker. When I say Not a banker, Robert had many opportunities to let things go in a direction that would of benefited him greatly with lawyer fees but he didn't. Robert not only represented me, he also represented my financial well being. He directed my case so that most of the fees fell on opposing party. Luckily my ex hired a banker and not a lawyer and was happy to run up her charges. Not only that, I kept a detailed log of all the text, email, phone calls, meetings etc I had with Robert and every time he well undercharged me. A few times I wanted the case to go in a direction that I thought was best, I was wronged and I wanted justice. Robert respectfully advised that some things will cost you more than they are worth. Once again looking out for my well being when I was blinded by hurt and could not see a clear path. Robert is reliable, accurate, and fast. Every time Robert had gotten back to me within the Hour or at the most same day. He also knows how to put the pressure on opposing party and get results fast. At the end of my case. Robert not only got me my son back, I got everything and didn't have to pay child support. Way more than I thought that I would get. I told him that his Humanity was greater than many than I have seen in my life so far and this is true when someone takes less and does more to help a complete stranger. And what really impressed me was that not only did he help my case in the moment, he made sure that the agreed ruling would protect my son and I for the future. That's why I say Robert does not just represent you, he represents your well being. There are not words that I could say or write that could show how grateful I am that you helped get my son back. Thank you so much Robert.

Mike has represented me and various family members of mine for a number of things over the last decade, starting with my divorce from my first husband in 2008. He has always given my family and I his honest opinion and assessment of our case, even when we don't like the answer we receive. It is easy to take things personally in the middle of your own legal matter, and he offers an outside perspective that often brings us back to center and helps us to evaluate the situation without all of the emotion. His honesty is also something that keeps our legal bill down as he won't pursue matters that, in the grand scheme of things, are frivolous, just to run up a bill. I am thankful to have had his legal and personal advice over the years and will continue to turn to him, as well as refer friend and family to him, for so long as he practices law.

You can tell Rachel loves what she does and is more concerned with serving others and helping than pinching every penny! She made sure every minute with her counted and always kept track of timing as I was nervous about finances. She helped me win my mediation. Didn’t back down or get intimidated by the other lawyer involved. I wish I would have used her for my divorce as I truly believe it would have ended a lot better had I did and wouldn’t have needed to file a mediation in the first place. She has given me some faith back in the court system and helped me regain my confidence in the matter!

I hired Rachel to assist me with my divorce. She was very responsive, professional and relatable. The divorce was rough at the beginning (which I completely expected) but ended smoothly, and I attribute the smooth ending in large part to Rachel's hard work. Alec Laidlaw was the second attorney I contacted. I was in a divorced, wanted split custody and was facing one of he more expensive and reputable law firms in the NW. Alec and his absolutely wonderful staff helped me understand all of my options and choose the best arrangement possible. Can't say enough about the staff and Alec. Wouldn't wish divorce on my worst enemy, but would recommend Laidlaw and Laidlaw in a heartbeat.

I hired Alec to represent me after my ex-wife reopened our divorce case years later alleging that I had hidden a large amount of money during our divorce which were not accounted for in the division of assets. Not only did Alec work diligently to prove these to be false allegations, he performed relentless discovery, played hard ball, and eventually was able to have my case dismissed with prejudice. Before I met Matthew Holland, I probably had one of the most confusing and sloppy divorce cases due to a crazy ex-wife that wanted money, to see me suffer, and take away my son. Matthew was my 4th and final lawyer on this extremely difficult case. I have learned, when one is in a litigation battle, it is necessary that you have all facets in a lawyer and law office. It is extremely difficult to find an attorney that knows the law in and out. Mr. Holland is accurate, thorough, fast at filing paperwork, and can dominate in the courtroom if the case is forced to trial. This guy did it all. Matt won an extremely difficult case and dug me out of a MASSIVE hole when I met him. He gave me my son back and my life. In addition to gaining my time with my son, Matt saved me from what could have been a substantial debt. It was super impressive to watch him work at his craft. He is an immense asset at Donahue law Firm in Bend Oregon. I owe a great thanks to Matthew Holland and his incredible paralegal Annalee Hoagland. I can't stress this enough; I highly recommend Matthew Holland as a divorce attorney. I also believe that Donahue Law Firm has taken the #1 spot in town for a pedigree law firm. Do your research, there are only two others.

I feel very fortunate to have come upon Matt Holland. I presented him with a complex employment contract with a medical group and hospital (25 pages worth of legalese), and he went through them point-by-point with me the very next day. He explained everything clearly, pointed out the 'draconian' parts, and reassured me that as a whole it was a fair contract. He charged less than average and yet I am sure my contract was reviewed with more care and close attention than it would have been at some big law place. Plus Matt was flexible about timing, and was willing to review the contract with me partly over the phone and partly at his office, even though it was late in the day. I looked him up on Yelp, and read his philosophy about law, and I must say, I am impressed by his professionalism and purpose. It's not every day you meet a lawyer who genuinely believes in the law and uses his training for good. This is not your stereotypical greedy or smarmy lawyer; this is a good guy. I hope I don't need an attorney in future, but if I do, I most certainly will return to Holland Law.

I hired Kevin Kelly In 2011 while I was enlisted in the military, stationed overseas, hadn’t seen my son in person for the better part of 2 years, and I was a single male at the time. Kevin always steered me in the right direction and warned me of all possible outcomes with my case. He always was straight forward and honest with me with everything, never leading me down a bad path once. Without Westbrook I would be sitting in prison tonight. I have worked with her for over a year on my case and when I say that, what I mean is: she has dealt with me for over a year and worked on my case. Westbrook is the definition of left field, she comes up with stuff out of no where that makes you feel stupid for never thinking of yourself. In my year with her I definitely thought I finally had an idea of what sort of attorney she was and how she operates. NOPE! She suits up for court and it’s as if you hired a whole different woman! There were times in that court room I’d sworn I saw a cape around her. This woman is absolutely amazing and I owe my life to her, if I ever get falsely accused again there is no one else I would ever go to. EVER. If I moved across the country I’d make her get licensed there just to be my defense again. I gave this poor woman absolute hell for things that had nothing to do with her at times and yet she’d be up until 3am working on my case. She can seem a bit unorthodox but let me assure you there is a method to her madness and you do not want to be the one going against her in a court room because she works in the most unpredictable ways and then suddenly brings it all together and by the time you realize what she did it’s already over. I’m not saying I trust the process, but I do trust her and her process. You have the choice of who’s about to defend you and based on what you did or in my case what you are falsely accused of doing…. Trust me when I say that Westbrook is best bet I ever put my life on. She’s amazing, she’s the best, she’s going to get you through the nearly impossible,

Three years ago I was wrongfully convicted of crimes I did not commit. After winning an appeal I was assigned Westbrook. I was a problem client, I did not wanna wave my sixty day speedy trial rights to give her more time to work on my case all I saw was the thirty months I had been wrongfully imprisoned. Westbrook did her best and actually won my case and got me released from custody. After watching my previous attorney just roll over and show his belly during the first trial, it was refreshing just to see Westbrook fight, veraciously for my rights, to defend me with a tenacity of someone who honestly cares about doing their very best. I would say hands down Westbrook is the best lawyer in Oregon.

Gardner explained everything to me I was unclear about: his strategy, possible outcomes from the other team, and what he was hoping for...which was to win my case. Obviously, when dealing with CPS, a parent does not have many options, but he gave me sound suggestions and encouragement. Even if I did not always like my options, he broke it down in a way that was easier to take in. If he was not going to be present, he made sure a qualified member of his staff would be and that they had been thoroughly breifed on my case. He knows how to do his job and does it well. All of his staff are qualified and are not shy about doing their job well... I cannot say thank you enough for all his effort. He pulled off a miracle. Hopefully, I am never in a situation where I need him again, but if I am, I would not want any other lawyer. Funny guy who talks way too much, but deinitely one in a million.

Kevin Lafky was successful in my lawsuit for my wrongful termination case, against a billion dollar company represented by a top Portland Corporate firm. I had success on other lessor issues with the firm. Beyond what this firm has done for me, such an advocate for the underdog or counterbalance against Government abuse. Most lawyers are too affraid to help the community the way this firm has helped. I don't care what any website or political complaint says to try to soil this man's reputation, this firm is huge resource to the community and is a better place because of him, by virtue of calling out or prosecuting abuse and corruption that other's won't. This man is like a local modern day Martin Luther king, fighting for the community, by way of calling out nonsense.

I went to a big party about a 12 months ago, and let's just say that I ended up in a bit of legal trouble on my drive home. I contacted Adam at the suggestion of a friend who used him before in a criminal case. Adam met with me right away and gave me the rundown of all of my options. He was way organized, he even gave me a bunch of stuff to take home with me and read to help understand the law process a bit better. I had a total of 2 court appearances with him, and each time he was early, prepared, and at ease. I was so nervous coming going to court since I had never been before, but felt much better once he took control. I barely had to do anything. When all was said and done, things played out exactly like Adam said they would. I can't say the process was fun, because it was not, but having Adam as my lawyer made things 1000x easier. I would definitely recommend him if you end up talking to a police officer after a bit touch (ahem) too much to drink.

After being badly burned by another lawyer, I came to Adam and Jill hurt and angry. They were quick to respond and were amazing at trying to fix what the other lawyer had screwed up for me. Unfortunately I found them a little too late and am stuck with a lot things in my divorce that should have been avoided with a trustworthy lawyer. I loved working with them. They were generous and kind and I feel almost that their amount of careful respect for me and my bad situation has made up for a lot of the upset I experienced with my previous one. There ARE great lawyers out there and these are two of them.

When my boyfriend and I were being sued by his mother for third party visitation, we were scared and confused about our rights as parents. I rather stupidly tried to represent myself in my divorce, and I seriously jacked it up. As if by divine intervention, my disastrously one-sided divorce judgment was delayed by a freak snow storm, and I hired Billy's firm to intercede on my behalf at the last possible moment. Within a reasonably quick period of time, Billy got everything sorted out and negotiated an agreement that was acceptable all around, and he was always very good about communicating and keeping me informed throughout the process. First Ill start by saying english is my second language and legal dictionary never been in my english studies. After saying that I would like to tell how William is patient and so smart in explaining legal issues in easy terms without changing the original meaning. Jeremy comes highly recommended. I researched multiple attorneys in Clark county and decided on Elizabeth Christy Law Firm because of the great reviews, and I'm glad I did. I was represented by Yvana Mols in 2019 in my divorce proceedings, which culminated with a very reasonable Judgement on Jan, 9, 2020. Yvana was very efficient, knowledgeable, and always available to answer my questions. I was highly encouraged to engage Krista Mancuso pending a divorce with children involved. I was hesitant and discouraged to do so from opposing party. But I am so thankful I did! I hired Krista to help me get divorced from an abusive partner, and gain custody of my kids. It was a long and ugly process and Krista was my rock. Our case was complicated due to key parties being difficult to reach. The dedication of Caitlin and the McLain Legal Services Team was exactly what was needed and ultimately our goal of becoming Third Party Custodians of our Grandson was achieved in 6 months. One of the terms on the website that caught our attention was "trauma informed". Managing emotions in a complicated case such as ours is not easy and we felt 100% comfortable with being transparent during this process and felt nothing but support. I just want to take a minute to write a review for this excellent attorney that works with another excellent group of people at McLain Legal. All too often in todays society we seem to lose sight of the people behind the scenes, people who day in and day out work their tail end off to get the job done and done well. Ms Easter is one of those people who just sit back quietly, often behind the scenes and rocks it every single time. This attorney had to jump in and actually go to court for an ex parte matter when my actual attorney was out on vacation. The matter required immediate attention and representation and Ms Easter did that without hesitation. In the end, we lost the argument/that battle, but the war continues. It should be noted that despite losing that motion, I still feel compelled to write this review and let everyone in Portland know how great of an attorney Ms Easter is. She is very knowledgeable, very firm, understanding, compassionate, and she is an advocate for McLain Legal clients without fail. Simply put, she is “The Very Best” at what she does. When my years-long battle in family court was over, there was a huge mess to clean up. An appeal was filed by opposition; a totally specious contempt was filed by opposition, several rounds of negotiation and filings and frustration and hair pulling and the kids there in the middle of it. My very capable but very pugilistic trial attorney recommended that I use someone who had the ability to reach compromise more readily with the opposing legal team, who were understandably tired of dealing with him. Fortunately, he had someone in mind. Enter Caitlin Easter. Caitlin is a delightful person, which could distract you from what a fantastic lawyer she is. She is thorough, she is detail oriented, and she's a fantastic communicator with an excellent command of the law. She manages to maintain a healthy skepticism without being cynical, which is hugely refreshing, especially as legal fatigue starts to set in. She is a fighter with a gentle disposition, and she cares about the kids involved above everything else. I could not be happier with the outcome of her services. We are now at about the year mark after our last major interaction and it's a whole new world. My kids are happy and see both parents regularly; both parents have laid down their swords and are moving on with their lives. It's night and day. If things change though... she's my first call.

This women not only believed me but proved it. I was beyond traumatized by what had happened to me- not only when she came and got me out of jail she already had an appointment set up for me with a PTSD doctor- one of the best in his field and took me straight there.
