I went to see Mr. Davis for an estate plan. I was very pleased with his explanations and the time he took to make sure I understood the process. This sort of thing can be very time consuming and difficult to get through, he completed the paperwork promptly and had all the people in in place to finish the process in the next visit. I gave them 1 star because I called to get my remaining balance to pay off. Their accounting person was awful and rude. She did not know what the fees are being charged for nor the remaining balance that I would had to speak to the lawyer handling the case to get the final balance. That was fine but why be nasty and rude if clients are asking. They really need to train their front office or accounting staff better customer service or how to properly talk to clients better. My husband called a second time and asked to speak to a specific paralegal or lawyer involved in the case to get the final balance and they mistakenly transferred him to this accounting person they had again. She was soo rude and spoke to us both slowly like you are talking to a 1st grader like we did not speak any English. I do not know if it’s because of our last name but we both were born in the states so there was no need to belittle people that are trying to pay off their remaining balance. Makes me think she speaks to all foreigners this way and everybody should be spoken with respect regardless what race, former or current client. We will not be using them ever again for any services knowing they have rude and nasty accounting or front office staff that are not properly trained. I will also be telling others I know about this awful experience.

i used merna law for chapter 7, I was very embarrassed and felt like a failure, he explained everything well, and really fought for me. my credit was terrible i could not even get a car loan. he got my case discharged, explained how to build credit. 1 year later for approved for 1.4% car loan for five years. he is laid back, but knows his stuff. sadly i live in north carolina and they made a ruling after my case that we can no longer file in va, otherwise I would use the firm him 4 life

I was referred to Mr Pettrey by my personal lawyer regarding a formal separation with my husband. My lawyer could not handle the case because in the past he had done work for us both . Mr. Kreitzer was hired by me for what I thought would be a short case. However, it’s lasted over a year (not by any fault of his) due to opposition dragging things on and on. Elizabeth was a terrific attorney for my divorce. She listened to my concerns, addressed every one of them, she answered emails promptly and ensured I saw drafts in a timely fashion. Nichols Zauzig, and in particular Cassandra Chin, has handled my family law situation for several complicated cases. Initially, I attended a seminar given by Mr. Nichols and he gave me confidence that the firm works hard for their clients. This proved to be especially true regarding Ms Chin. She is extremely well versed in Virginia family law, devotes the needed time and energy to the case, and far out classed the opposing counsel. She kept me well informed of the status of my case, presented options of how best to proceed, and every time we had a discussion I felt better about where I stood. Cassandra Chin came highly recommended and I’m grateful for the recommendation. I retained her services for a post-divorce custody issue and both her and her whole team are smart, responsive, realistic, compassionate, and just so good at what they do. You're in excellent, highly capable hands from start to finish. Questions are always answered. I always knew exactly what was going on in our case. And you can tell just how respected she is in her field. Our case was resolved fairly and efficiently. It sounds odd to say when you are dealing with family law, but I enjoyed my time working with Cassandra and her team. I was given Nichols Zauzig a few years ago as I contemplated a divorce. I’m thankful that I had their number because I suddenly needed them. My ex had her attorney send me an email telling me she wanted a divorce. Cassandra Chin urged me to try to work out a settlement agreement with my ex, but it is no surprise we couldn’t work anything out ourselves.
Just before we went into a settlement meeting between the 2 attorneys and my ex, my ex pulled her original (untenable) offer and submitted an offer even worse.
Cassandra called me before sending me the new offer and and told me not to worry because the new offer was against Virginia statute in several areas. She assured me that I would do better than the original offer my ex had just pulled. She was absolutely correct in her assessment. We got a much better deal and made a few nominal concessions early in the meeting that paid dividends later.
Though I got divorced later in life and my ex had no savings or investments of her own, I will be able to retire thanks in no small part to Cassandra’s guidance. I thought we worked well together and I owe my future to her.

Very disappointed in Mr Barlow and his handling of my daughters case - he was good as long as he was with the judge he wanted but when he was moved to another judge he sat like a bump on a log and did nothing - he did no defense or challenged the prosecutor in any way - he told me later that the outcome would have been totally different if the case had not been moved which I believe was done intentionally as this case had to do with drug court -which all this will hopefully be exposed soon- my daughter talked to several lawyers before choosing Mr Barlow who bragged on himself and took our money but then failed horribly in the court room - I do not even want yo give 1 star to be honest!

I received a ticket for an accident that was my fault. A friend recommended that I contact Mr. Barlow. I dealt with his para legal Miss Whitmore who walked me through the entire process, she explained whar would be needed and the time frames. I was kept up to date on any changes. she was very friendly and pleasant ,answered all of my questions and messages in a very timely manner. We went to court and my case was dismissed. The judge made a comment that all documentation and driving course that she would have recommended had been completed. I believe this was all due to the guidance of Mr. Barlow And Miss Whitmore. Their expertise and knowledge Made the entire process smooth. This outcome means my driving record.Will show the ticket was dismissed and also my insurance did not go up due to the driving course which they had advised me to do. Donne Colton was referred to me by a therapist who provides court testimony regarding the welfare of children in divorce cases. I sought the therapist's attorney recommendations because I wanted an attorney who had earned a stellar reputation for negotiating and writing divorce and custody agreements in the best interest of children, and I got that and much more when I hired Donne to represent me in my contested divorce in 2015-2016. My custody case was extremely complicated and contentious, and Donne did an outstanding job of navigating me through it.
I worked with him and with his excellent paralegal, Margie Madsen, for a solid year. Donne has a great deal of personal and professional integrity. He was everything I wanted in an attorney--he's knowledgeable, an excellent negotiator, very good with the myriad details that divorce entails, always accessible, a terrific writer (he wrote all of the agreements for my divorce), and he represented me very well, in court, in documents, in emails, and in phone calls with my ex-husband's attorney.
He's honest, ethical, easy to talk to, trustworthy, fair, and extremely hardworking. He worked through the night (and into the wee hours) when necessary when we got down to the wire negotiating my custody and property settlements with my ex-husband's attorney, and achieved excellent agreements that enabled my ex-husband and I to settle both matters out of court, without having to leave them up to a trial judge.
These same agreements have helped me navigate challenges I've had with my ex-husband in the many months since our divorce was finalized. The agreements provide a solid foundation for me to refer to, and excellent boundaries for us to live within.
I honestly can't think of any area in which Donne fell short of my needs or expectations. I feel very fortunate that he was able to take my case, as I could not imagine having had a better attorney to work with.

She is the best lawyer I have ever known in VA. At first I was so worried about having a record in my life. But after I talked to her, I felt so relieved. She is so nice that you could trust her at all. I had a case that driving 82/70 Mph in VA, which cause a Misdemeanor.. and an infraction for the expired license. Another victory and an exemplary proof that nothing can beat Ms. Kinsey. My ex-wife who attempted to obtain a restraining order against me based on false allegations, has faced a humiliating defeat, where the court quashed her request citing that the allegations were not 'Credible'. Words really can't describe the level of professionalism and expertise Attorney Wade possesses. I had a nightmare divorce/custody case that carried over from North Carolina for a total of four years. At the time I came in contact with Attorney Wade I was on my fourth lawyer and I spent almost 20k in legal fees. In time, I had become a "professional court testifier" and became very familiar with the legal process. I knew a good attorney when I saw one. Shannon is handling my current divorce. Very patient and understanding, yet gives it to you straight and truthful. Very fair in regards to cost. Has charged 1/3 of my wife's attorney yet has filled me in more and made sure I understand what she is doing for me in trying to move forward. I hired Ms. Otto to assist me with my divorce in 2012. She was very easy to work with and did a great job in dealing with my ex husbands attorney. We were able to come to an amicable separation agreement in a very reasonable amount of time which was important to me so that things didn’t get dragged out. I also hired her and her partner Mr. Locke to assist me in another part of my divorce which had to do with my mothers will and again they were nothing but professional and swift in getting that situation wrapped up. I have referred quite a few folks to Ms. Otto including my daughter for a prenuptial agreement. I retained Ms. Shannon Otto and she helped me to file a couple of show cause motions for contempt of court, she also helped me to increase my visitation time, and to update our child support schedule.
