I recently ended a long-term marriage and -in so doing- found myself slowly being pulled towards a contested divorce trial. My ex-spouse and I found difficulties in reaching a compromise and she was in no hurry to move the divorce forward. Further, I had little knowledge of the divorce laws, the legal processes of divorce or the court system in general as this was my first exposure to a trial. I was really out of my comfort zone in such matters. I came to Rhonda not only for her AAML certification and extensive divorce experience but, in researching her background further, I found that she had a good record for moving cases forward. Her and her team did an absolutely outstanding job. They moved my case forward -and to its completion- expediently and with a good outcome. Further, they dealt with me with patience, understanding and great communication so that I came to a comfort level as the case progressed. Divorce is clearly difficult and challenging for a number of reasons. I am very grateful that Rhonda was so adept at dealing with the legal aspects of my divorce so that I was able to deal with the other challenges that came with this process.

Sue Hansen and her team were gentle, professional, efficient, and truly caring as I went through the divorce process. The Commissioner conducting my final hearing stated, “this is not a woman state, this is not a man state, this IS a kid state.” Sue and her team exuded that very important piece into all of our meetings. The level of hurt I had behind the reason for the divorce impacting my children was alleviated as best as possible through the mediation process. Excellent guidance was provided in all components of this situation. Sue and her staff were exemplary and compassionate while still aiding me through the divorce system itself. I was told by multiple people, “it will get better.” With the help of Sue, she was a big factor in making that advice true. You will not regret the help of Sue, especially if you have children.

Susan Hansen came highly recommended to me, and I can appreciate why. I was going through a difficult divorce, including considerable disputes over family assets, child placement and future monies. Sue Hansen is an excellent lawyer. She possesses all the skills one would want in a lawyer, including the ability to analyse small details, a clear communication style, and a superior level of frankness/trust. But these are not the qualities that set her apart. Sue Hansen posseses a breadth of experience that allows her to see beyond the immediate situation; she has the ability to quickly establish a context. Sue asked me to step back and re-frame my situation. Sue wanted me to 'not live in reaction to,' but rather to focus on constructing a better future for both myself and my children. After a few meetings, she was able to understand my ex spouse's motivations and approach. Sue was quick to adjust our plan when it became apparent that we were reaching a roadblock. She was continiously working to keep the process moving forward. Sue was also willing to not budge on factors that I considered to be of the highest priority; I greatly valued her steadfastness. Sue Hansen possesses this incredible gift of being comforting, but also firm with her clients. She helps her clients see what is best for all members involved. She not only was working on negotiating with my ex spouse and her legal team, but just as importantly, Sue was helping me to negotiate with my various selves-- the emotional, the analytical, the defiant, the uncertain. She helped me stay on course and never did I feel like I was involved in a hopeless battle of wills. Her philosophical approach is matched only by her outstanding strategic mind. Despite numerous challenges, Sue was able to help formulate a final agreement that was livable, fair and put my children in the best position possible. I am stepping away from one of my most heartfelt tragedies with a sense of hope for my own future and for my children. I do not believe this conclusion would have been possible with any lawyer other than Sue Hansen.

Laura represented me in a custody/placement case and did an absolutely incredible job. I originally learned of Laura through a family friend who had worked for the Clerk of Courts and saw Laura in action over the years. I would recommend her to anyone who is in need of a family law lawyer without hesitation. She took the time to explain everything to me in great detail including options, court processes and strategy. She truly went above and beyond what I expected. Laura’s utilizes a realistic, effective problem solving approach always with a personalized touch, guided with genuine empathy. Unlike other high profiled divorce attorneys, even though she has a very competent assistant, Laura handles most of the divorce details. This is immensely valuable during legal proceedings which can become very complicated, confusing and difficult for the client to sort through with all the raw emotions. My assets are well into 7 figures, with a significant executive salary, a then wife that did not work outside the home for 25 years. My ex unexpectedly filed and hired what is considered to be the best high profiled divorce attorney from the area. Thankfully with Laura’s attention to detail, tenacity and persistence, we achieved a final divorce judgment within 8 months and out maneuvered them to my financial advantage nearly twice my legal fees. We navigated through two legal depositions, occupational evaluations, and a 12 hour day of mediation, which at many times a settlement appeared to be unattainable. Mind you this day was Laura’s birthday, at the last minute she cancelled all birthday celebration plans. so we could get a deal. I started out with several false allegations including two felonies and several other misdemeanors. I had a very kind lawyer starting but soon realized that being kind was not going to cut it. Not only that but I could never reach her and felt as though my case was being left on the desk. Chris was recommended to me by the WI State Bar. I first contacted him when seeking representation for a civil suit resulting from false allegations that I was currently fighting. I soon learned that Chris was not just another "money hungry" big city lawyer..I began hours of research before calling him and soon decided to give him a call. He sat down with me at no cost and was straight forward with the seriousness of the alleged charges. What started out to be just a consultation about a possible civil suit turned into a substitute of counsel of Chris for my previous lawyer in my criminal case as well. I am a VERY demanding client, especially in the situation I was in and Chris kept me 100% informed and took every last one of my concerns into careful consideration. I went from having a lawyer whom I could not contact for the life of me, to having a wonderful lawyer who would respond to my e-mails within minutes every-time! I myself had lost hope of my dream to become a lawyer due to my false allegations and Chris turned that around for me. Not only did he use his aggressive and highly intellectual style to get my false allegations dismissed, but also has taught me a lot about my future career path. Little background on why I giving a review for George E. Miller. Two years ago (2020) I was accused of a crime I DID NOT commit. He became my attorney for that case. He went to bat for me, looked at 3000 pages of evidence, 10k+ of messages between the person accusing and myself, Him and his office kept me updated on everything. Mr. Miller even took a fine by the court to make sure he got everything in to help my case.. As not taking any deals the D.A. offered, I took my case to trial.. As the jury came back with a not guilty verdict. I was truly blessed to have an attorney to put in countless hours and believe in me. High quality work, George Miller is not only a great attorney, but he is down to earth. Looks at you as an equal. Never once I ever felt uncomfortable talking to him. He treated me like a friend. My wife and I were looking a lawyer to write our wills and we found Kyle. The first thing that sold us was his prices were incredible. I didn't think we would be able to afford a will for both of us, but because of his prices we were able to easily afford one for both my wife and I. His belief is that wills should be affordable so everyone can have one written up, and it shows. He did an excellent job taking the time to answer all my questions and walking me through the documents that needed to be filled out. He is very thorough as well. Amy represented me in a long, difficult divorce. On top of my heartbreak, I needed a lawyer who was professional and even tempered. She filed a timely counterclaim, which was essential in getting family support early on. We had numerous hearings, and she was effective in court also. She was always prepared and always respectful, yet firm. I had lots of questions about how things were handled and lots of documentation for her to review. Mindy has been wonderful to work with! My husband and I are in our 30's with young children so we are not, by any means, knowledgeable in legal matters pertaining to the "what if" questions of our home, property, and most importantly, our children, if something were to happen to us. Thankfully, Mindy is! We didn't think we had enough "stuff" or money to have a trust but when Mindy sits down with you to "lay it all out", it is quite shocking what one actually has! She made us feel very comfortable through the entire process and confident that we were making the right decisions in protecting our family. We started truthfully not even knowing what a trust was, we just knew we did not want our children and belongings in the court system, and ended with the confidence and knowledge of how a trust works and how everything will be handled if the worst happens. Mindy made this process easy to understand- she speaks in layman's terms which is not always the case with lawyers! Brandt was referred to me by my Dad's attorney, for a paternity action and accusations involving CPS. The accusations were weak at best. Yet serious in nature. From the first call to Mr. Duquette to our final resolve of our case with the Village of Williams Bay Mr. Duquette made my wife and myself feel as though we had nothing to worry about, as the Village of Williams Bay did not understand the law as the Village had written it. At the Village board of zoning appeals Mr. Duquette was able to explain the law to the board of zoning appeals. We stood before the board with Mr. Duquette and the board finally realized it was probably in their best interest to allow for our variance due to many mistakes that were made by the Village Building Commissioner and the board of zoning appeals lack of knowledge of the laws they way they had written them. Could not have accomplished this WIN without James Duquette. His staff and James were are very responsive and James is on target with our need and ready to assist us in the future if we should need his services again.

I went through the majority of my divorce with another lawyer. After probably four or five times watching my old lawyer get crucified by my ex-wife's lawyer, I decided it might be time to try someone else. A good friend recommended Mr. Grubb, and I haven't regretted it since. Mr. Grubb is tough, very knowledgeable, and not intimidated by anyone, which made me feel much more confident that I was being represented accurately and fairly. Immediately after I hired him he started making things better, identifying glaring problems with the divorce thus far and fixing any problems he could. My only frustration is that I didn't hire him in the first place. If you're looking for a divorce attorney, don't make the same mistake I did and take the economical route. I went with the cheapest lawyer I could find and it ended up costing me a ton in the long run. Instead, get someone like Mr. Grubb, he's going to be a little more expensive but you get what you pay for, and Mr. Grubb is worth every penny.

I switched to Attorney Grubb after having difficulties resolving the custody portion of my divorce. We went over my entire situation regarding the kids needs (schedules, schools) and my own and was able to negotiate a Joint Parenting Agreement that finally concluded my divorce. I was very happy

I found Steve to be personal and professional simultaneously. This is a feat for most of us, with lawyers being either one or the other and often neither. Steve was focused on my case and successfully found a Chapter 7 solution when the means test made it look improbable. Steve didn't "sugar coat" the situation, and was very upfront even when he had to say something I didn't necessarily want to hear. There were no "suprises" along the way. Steve was able to mitigate the stress level associated with bankruptcy; which was a tremendous help. From the standpoint of value, Steve's fees were very reasonable especially considering the level of responsiveness, personal service and results provided. I didn't feel like I was part of a "bankruptcy mill" or being given only cursory attention. In part, I believe, that this is because Steve is a single lawyer firm....bigger isn't always better. I highly recommend Steve!

Mr. Cotter was able to file a chapter 7 without issues when other bankruptcy lawyers thought it wasn't possible due to the means test. He did not give up when there was clearly a need for bankruptcy protection and researched all aspects of the law to find a solution. If it wasn't for his excellent research skills my financial situation would be very bleak indeed.

We then spoke about how things would play out in the amount of court time, phone calls (BILLED IN QUARTERLY BY THE HOUR) and one on one office strategy meetings. Attorney Cotter before taking one dollar from me, sent me to a tax advisor to see if i would be responsible for the liability if we lost the case. I had seen two other attorneys all saying I had no chance of WINNING, Attorney Cotter saw a posibility and he won my day. He is on his own with a wealth of knowledge and I think this was a key to the success. If you seek one on one personal service and do not care to be a part of the lawyer factory, I am on a 4 month holiday and that is as good as it gets! I had to leave my ex very suddenly, moving away from my home in California. When I arrived in Wisconsin, I knew I needed to start the divorce proceedings to break all ties, but wasn't sure how to even begin in such a convoluted situation. Chris was very understanding of the nuances of my situation and very patient with my inability to directly contact my ex. Laura (Chris' paralegal) was personally encouraging and warm towards me. Chris Henry was absolutely everything that I could have asked for in a lawyer during my divorce. I would say that a divorce is probably one of the most difficult things that anyone will have to go through in their lives, and Chris was there for me every step of the way. It is now about 10 years since Attorney Steiner handled a divorce and custody case for our family. Without her thorough knowledge of legal theory and unwavering pursuit of pertinent evidence a child's life would have been subjected to very unfortunate circumstances. She made us feel that our case was the most important matter she was handling. She has a relationship with the court and related legal entities that give her an advantage over her opponents. She doesn't recognize the words "giving in" and has only one goal, to win.
