All the quick reviews hit the nail on the head. I had the chance to work with Bill and his assistant Ellen for some traffic tickets and the closing on a new house. Ellen was super easy to reach and kept me in the loop the whole way. Bill is a classic, laid-back guy who's a blast to do business with. I have had a TERRIBLE experience with this firm. I was transferred by my last lawyer 6 years ago (2018), the case was finally settled year 7 (February 2024) By Andrea Borden. Unfortunately I was only important while the case was in the process of being settled, but now, almost a year later, I have no check! The years prior to the case and the months following its settlement, I have been IGNORED no matter how many calls I make no one responds. If you're reading this i hope you have better luck if you stay with them, but I wouldn't recommend this firm.

Beth is down right mean and harbors anger. None of what she does professional. She is sneaky and conniving. What she say and tells a child to do is not her place. Telling a minor wrong information and adding fuel to the fire instead if preserving the family. Do not hire her!

I was a client of DM's for several months in developing and negotiating a divorce agreement from an abusive spouse. Debra was always timely in responding to my e-mails and kindly offered a lesser fee in deference to my financial situation, which I very much appreciate. What I missed during the process of our work together was her ability to fiercely protect and defend my need for absolute separation on all levels from my abuser. From her background in social work, specifically in working with DV cases, I thought she would have a basic understanding of an abusers proclivity to maintain control over their victim, including weaponizing any available tool or term in a divorce agreement that maintains access to their spouse. Her suggested strategy was to give in to every term my abuser requested including allowing my abuser to remain connected to me via leases in my name, claiming that he wouldn't sign the divorce agreement otherwise. Since then, I've discovered at least one way in which I could have exercised leverage to force him to release our union on a lease agreement. It's been a year since I began the initial divorce from my abuser. My divorce has been granted, but the divorce agreement I created with Debra has shackled me to my abuser in ways I never imagined and I am now painfully working my way through the court system towards redrafting an agreement clause by clause. My suggestion to anyone dealing with an abusive spouse is to work with a highly principled litigator with a track record, not a mediator.

I saw her today for a prenup consult and she was fantastic - strong and shrewd in her knowledge yet kind and thoughtful. I would recommend her to anyone. I think she pours her heart into this job but has the intelligence to back it up. In my case it turned out I have to find an attorney in NJ since the prenup that my other half drafted with his attorney is based in NJ, so sadly I have to find another attorney otherwise she would be it!

It isn’t my intention to make my review this long, but it’s the only way to truly share my experience. I’ll pay it forward. After months of contemplating, researching the subject and reaching the conclusion I’m truly in the worst of financial troubles, I still wasn’t 100% sure if I could or should go through with bankruptcy. I wasn’t there yet. I was terrified at the thought. Enter Mr. Singer. The first thing was the website. It was very different than most. It’s put together right. It’s not intimidating. So I called the number. To my surprise Mr. Singer picks up the phone. Not an answering machine or secretary or anything. He doesn’t know me and is talking to me like I’m a family member. Like his grandson or son. He spoke to me about ME. With dignity and respect. Not about money or what I did wrong. Not about My mistakes. But is this action now apart of my life’s journey? My experience with Kramer, Dunleavy & Ratchik, PLLC was breathtaking. I was run over by a car in Harlem while crossing a crosswalk with the right of way. The guy driving was 100% at fault. The state bar of NY enthusiastically recommend I set up a consultation with them. So I had a 5 minute call with his paralegal, Joanne O’Connell, it was nice. She wanted me to send my neurologist medical records to review and the detailed police report. Made it happen. Then, all communication ceased. No email was replied to thereafter. The only reason I can come up with is that Kramer, Dunleavy & Ratchik genuinely believe there is no merit in finding justice for pedestrians who wrongfully get run over by a car in the state of New York left with long-term injuries.
So I found an actual attorney who got to work, now everything is good.
This concludes my final thoughts on KD&R for now. I’m extremely honored to have been in Joanne’s presence. She and KD&R are extraordinary human beings - but has no follow through and all that talk lead to nothing.

After I tripped on an uneven sidewalk on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, my neighbor, a longstanding friend, introduced me to attorney Jonathan Ratchik who took my case on as he and the doctors deemed my left foot was severely injured.
The landlord had failed to properly maintain the sidewalk in front of the brownstone he owned, posing a clear and present danger to pedestrians.
Mr. Ratchik knows his law. He is patient and thorough. He guided me well, coached me thoroughly on the procedures, and allowed me to make decisions about medical treatment and the course of our legal action which took nearly three years when the landlord’s insurance company offered a fair settlement which we accepted.
