I posted a legal question on AVVO, and immediately got a ton of responses from many injury lawyers across CO. Almost every lawfirm’s response on there was to contact them immediately. However, Mr. Richard Gama from Gama Law firm was the ONLY lawyer that responded by saying that I needed to seek medical help for my injury first, before I had worry about a lawyer.
No questions asked, I went ahead and reached out to him and see if he would be able to represent me. I knew this was someone who was not only interested in representing me but also cared about my health and well-being.
Given the fact that this was my first ever vehicle accident with an injury, I knew little to nothing and did not know what to expect. However, before I would even wonder or ask him a question , Mr. Gama would have already told me what to do or what to expect. It truly was an easy, quick and effortless experience throughout this whole process. It was nice to know that someone knowledgeable, experienced and very well qualified, would be able to talk you at a personal level but also be very professional about things. I truly felt at ease every time I talked to him whether through phone call or email communication. He was always available and ready to meet and would give you his full attention and time although he had a busy schedule. (He even drove up to my job)

I hired a "big firm" for my car accident case but they never returned my calls or kept me posted about my case so I fired them and went to Mr. Gama. He always made time to talk with me and we really stuck it to the insurance company in the end. If I ever get hurt again I know who I'm calling.

I was the victim of a bike vs. car accident back in September, and am so appreciative of Megan for handling the outcome for me.The accident left me injured, out of work, and with a stack of medical bills. My Initial thought was not to get a lawyer, I figured the responsible parties would be reasonable and we could work it out in a sensible way. Very quickly I was brought to the reality of dealing with insurance companies. Suddenly the vehicle hitting me was my fault, they wanted me to make legal statements and questioned me as if I was the guilty party, when I was merely the victim . It was at this moment I realized I needed help dealing with the accident. If I had not contacted Megan I would have paid thousands of dollars in medical bills I was not responsible for. unfortunately, my experience taught me that this is not unusual in the insurance claim world, which was so foreign to me.

My wife and I are avid cyclists. We were on our way to San Diego for a cycling event. I was hit by a car while out for a short bike ride prior to starting the final leg of our journey. The driver of the car was distracted by some activity, other than driving, when he made a left turn directly into my path of travel down the bike lane. I recall seeing the car top the hill a hundred yards or so ahead of me and to my left. I do not recall seeing him start his turn or much of anything else until I found myself sitting in the middle of the road bleeding and confused.
I ended up with a nasty shoulder separation and required surgery to both hands to repair ligaments and broken bones in my thumbs. My bike ended up some 10 yards down the street from me and was heavily damaged.
I initially considered myself lucky and figured my case was to small to involve a lawyer. The driver’s insurance company initially showed signs of being “reasonable” to work with. I quickly encountered several of the games insurance companies employ to frustrate, delay and ultimately attempt to pay very little of an accident victim’s losses. I realized I needed help. I didn’t want to become a victim of the insurance companies’ “process”. I needed to focus on healing and getting back to my work and life.
A friend mentioned he had seen a “bicycle lawyer” named Megan Hottman speak at a cycling event in Denver. I called Megan. Megan impressed me from our first meeting. Her depth of experience, knowledge and passion for getting a fair settlement for her clients was clear. I felt a great weight lifted when Megan took my case. Megan kept me informed on progress every step of the way. There was never any doubt I had found the right person to guide me through this mess.
I can’t thank Megan enough for the considerable time she saved me. Your precious time is ultimately what insurance companies try to manipulate in order to get you to settle for little or nothing.
Megan was able to secure a fair settlement which allowed me to quickly replace my lost property, take care of my medical needs and move on with my life.
My wife and I are now back to enjoying our cycling adventures.

After my car accident, for which I was not at fault, I was referred to Sam Barfield by a friend. I have never used an attorney prior to this accident and was a bit lost in what to do next. I was in a horrific rollover collision where I was nearly killed. Another driver was at fault and crossed three lanes on the freeway, and hit me and rolled my car. My car was totally destroyed. I sustained injuries from the collision. I was not in a mental state to handle anything about this collision on my own and knew I needed to hire an advocate. Ed Smith is a very nice lawyer. When selecting representation for my daughter's DUI case, David was the only lawyer who took the time to listen to me as a parent and really show compassion and understanding of our situation. Not only are his fees reasonable, but his knowledge and experience gave us all comfort that my daughter would be in good hands. It was the first time she'd ever been in any sort of legal trouble, so he was able to give us calm during a very scary and unknown period of time.
Since we are not from Colorado it was crucial that there was good communication and explanation of Colorado law and process. He took the time to meet via zoom conference all with all of us several times during the process up through the court date. He was very responsive to all our questions and walked us through what was likely to happen.
What impressed me most about David is that he got my daughter working on some of the things ahead of time that the courts generally order you do after the court date. So by the time the court date came around, she was nearly done with almost everything except the community service. Most everyone who processed paperwork after the court date was really impressed with how far ahead she was, which means she got really GREAT advice from David.
Despite being a very stressful period for my daughter, who was also trying to get through her freshman year at CSU, he managed to turn a very fearful situation into something manageable, understandable, and no so scary. She will be finished with her supervised probation soon and her record sealed after one year. We've all learned valuable lessons and will never forget David for how much care he showed our family, and how calming and effective he was in resolving the case.

I found out about Patrick Collins through a friend. I made an appointment and after looking into other lawyers I was convinced I should hire Mr. Collins. Everyone in the office was compassionate concerning my injuries and how those injuries effected me as a whole. Mr. Collins office stayed in contact with me at least monthly to inform me of the progress of my case and to see how I was doing. Often times it would be Mr. Collins making the calls. Even though my case is complete, Mr. Collins is continuing to try to reduce two different bills. Ted and Robin were VERY well organized as well as prompt with responding to my concerns! Honesty. Integrity. Transparency! Three very important qualities that make a very difficult situation bearable.
From the moment I retained Ted, I felt very comfortable knowing he was NOT in this for the money, but to help me fight a battle that meant the world to me! I had attempted to fight this battle alone up until about 40 days before the trial date. Feeling overpowered, I called Ted's office and met with him a day later.
After consulting with Ted, I walked out of his office with a huge amount of weight lifted off my shoulders. With not very much time to prepare, Ted and Robin immediately started working on my case. Ted never once steered me in the wrong direction and always pointed out the logistics of the case. If I didn't like what the opposing party had to say, Robin would listen very carefully to my thoughts and concerns and she and Ted would have a "plan of action" within minutes.
Although we settled outside of court 5 minutes before the trial started, Ted had his well documented notes and was ready to stand by me in court and fight for what my daughter and I deserved!
Ted went back to his office and worked on organizing all of the documentation of what had been settled on in court. Ted Finn had a no-bull approach that I found efficient and refreshing. At the same time, he consistently showed perceptive intuition as to the nuances of the case and the opposing party's tactics. He was about the business of my case as opposed to running up my bill. He was inclined to take the high road, very upfront regarding cost, and he communicated throughout regarding cost analysis of pursuing various approaches or battles. When it did come time to stand ground as opposed to negotiate, he was well prepared and persuasive. In my opinion Family Law is a good fit for Ted and I'd certainly prefer to have him on my team than face him as my opposition counsel.
