I was injured on a charity motorcycle ride. I was severely injured. I underwent multiple surgeries. I was close to death many times. I was on life support. I lived in the hospital and a rehab facility for awhile. I could barely move. I had multiple surgeries. After the first few surgeries I had multiple boxes of multiple reams of paper from the medical records of this event. I tried to handle my claim myself because the total limit amounts were far less then my damages. The insurance companies were trying to get over on me. It took weeks to summon enough energy to call and deal with the insurance people and the claim process. After getting the run around from the insurance companies I had thoroughly researched the top lawyers in Oregon. I contacted most of these super lawyers and lawyers with prestigious accolades who are considered the best. For the most part they treated my situation as just another case. I came across Travis Mayor who is also a Super Lawyer with many prestigious accolades as well. I called the office of Travis Mayor and spoke with his kind receptionist. She informed me that Travis was on vacation. A few minute later I received a call from Travis in Hawaii! He cares that much about his clients that he called me from Hawaii while he was with his family. I told him my situation and out of kindness and compassion he said this total limit amount of money would in no way be fair to you. So Travis offered me an EXTREMELY low flat fee out of the kindness of his own heart. He truly cared about me and my situation. After all the pain it was a blessing to come across a man who truly cared. Once Travis took over I was able to focus on recovering. Travis was extremely easy to contact and in most cases got back to me before I could get back to him. He kept me updated and presented everything to me in a direct and clear manner. He outlined the choices I could make and he let me have full control over the decisions of the case while guiding me throughout the process effortlessly. Travis got the limit amounts from both insurance companies. He negotiated my bills down extremely low. And he also searched every possible outlet for further money. Travis went above and beyond and he did it all like a champion with no sweat. Travis is the best lawyer I could have gotten not just in Oregon but anywhere in the globe. I do not think Travis could have done anything better. Travis performed at 1000% and went above and beyond for me and not for money but out of care for my situation. I was rear ended in a motor vehicle accident in December of 2021 and suffered a neck injury. I tried months of physical therapy and eventually connected with Joel Sturm and TUE. I can not even begin to describe the level of effort and concern they put into my case. Joel was present at doctors appointments, he constantly checked on me. The thing he said over and over was "Let's get it fixed, we can worry about other stuff later." The decision to eventually undergo surgery was left to me, and what I thought was best with the advice of the doctors. There was no talk of money and no pressure to settle the claim quickly. It eventually concluded in November of 2023. When it came time to take care of things Joel did an AMAZING job. I just stayed out of his way and let him use his expertise. When he called me to tell me what the settlement was, I didn't believe him. I thought he was pulling my leg. I made him repeat it three times. The job that Joel and TUE did was incredible. I wish the accident had not happened because of the pain and suffering that it caused. Even with physical rehab and surgery I am going to have some soreness and stiffness in my neck for the rest of my life, but because of the accident I met Joel and I am so grateful to him because he worked so hard to represent me and my interests. My husband and I hired Jason after my husband was in a bad car accident. Jason was fantastic through the long process of getting my husband the proper compensation for his current and future losses, he was educated and seemed to genuinely have my husbands and my best interest at heart. He was always more than willing to answer any and all questions and he made sure that we understood what was happening throughout the case. He was willing to make any necessary accommodations to help ease my husbands discomfort and he would also check in to see how my husband was doing. I had been been in car accident where the driver was under insured and I had to make claim against my uninsured motorist coverage. Ben Cox is a *real person* who cares about his clients. I was worried about working with a lawyer-shark who fights for his money, but he is such the opposite. When I got into my car accident, I was in a very intense transitional period. I had just moved back to Portland, staying in an Airbnb, and was on my way to interview for my dream job. I’d lovingly washed my car the day before and was entirely focused on getting there on-time and safely. Yet, there is only so much over which one has control while driving, and I was rear-ended by TWO cars in morning traffic. As soon as I felt the two impacts, one after the other and the second sending me into the car in front of me, I knew I was embroiled in a true ordeal. This stressful chapter of my life became barely manageable as the third-degree whiplash set in over the next few weeks, and I will forever marvel at my good fortune that my chiropractor referred me to Ben. I felt immediately reassured that I only had to focus on HEALING and settling into my new home and job, while Ben and Heather assumed all the work of advocating for me to two insurance companies and processing my case. I have been a trial attorney for over fifteen years. When I was injured in a car wreck, I looked carefully for an injury attorney who: a) would take away all of the hassle and stress of personally having to deal with claims adjusters and opposing counsel; b) would not only keep me informed on a regular basis of the status of my case, but proactively make sure I was doing all the things I needed to do on time; c) knew Personally Injury law thoroughly -- both substantively and with demonstrated litigation experience -- from the claims stage all the way through courtroom litigation; and, d) MOST IMPORTANTLY, one who was not afraid to seek the best possible outcome in my case aggressively. (I have been around enough attorneys to know that many are either afraid of litigation/trial, or they want to take the first or second counter offer from the other side because it's quick money in the bank.)
Elizabeth exceeded my expectations on all four of my requirements. I consider myself to be pretty on the ball with my to-do checklists, but sometimes when I slacked on sending in treatment reports to the firm, for example, she would email me personally reminding me to get a, b, or c done, and would also update me with that status of the case/negotiation so I always understood exactly where things were.
In addition, on our second settlement obtained (the UIM claim), Elizabeth was actually confident that she could get the other side to an even better number than she'd already negotiated. It was me who let her know that I trusted that she could, but that just for my peace of mind I wanted to settle at the good enough number she already obtained and move on with my life. She would have kept fighting, though, and with confidence.
I know another attorney who also retained her and came away also completely pleased with the communication and with the outcome.

We first consulted with Mr. Bruce Bottini in June 2016 as a result of an accident that involved my husband Mitch, and an out of state truck driver. We were unsuccessful at contacting the truck drivers insurance company. My husband required two cervical surgeries and was unable to work for about two months. We had several hundred thousands in medical bills and had exhausted our own insurance. The truck driver was uncooperative and we needed legal representation. Mr Bottini was excellent. After meeting with us in his office, he met us about a week later in the town at the scene of the accident. He brought an accident reconstructionist to verify the general facts, and then spoke with several "witnesses" later that day and the next. It took 3 years to arbitrate this situation, however in that time, he was able to prevent collections from harrassing us, and he brought in an additional lawyer at no cost to us who specialized in trucking cases. That lawyers name is Tim Williams and he is located in Bend, Oregon. The two lawyers worked in tandem to ensure our case was in solid position to be presented in court and at an arbitration. The arbitration was ultimately successful and we felt that we were in excellent hands through the entire process. We felt very fortunate to have both Mr. Bottini and Mr. Williams representing us throughout the entire time. I hired Jeff Siefman to represent me on a domestic dispute that led to my arrest in October. Jeff was very upfront and informative when I came to him about a no contact order that was placed that neither myself or significant other asked for. I can't imagine going through the incredibly difficult and stressful process of my unlawful employment practice case with a former employer without her guidance. She was patient yet firm, and never took advantage of hourly fees, workload, or response time.
