Mr. Ripley represented me and took the time and extra effort to understand my case and gather information. He met with me several times to ensure he had all the facts. I contacted the office of Michael Ripley based on all the peer reviews I had read. Now I know firsthand, where the five stars come from. Above and beyond is the simple two words to convey the level of work this office, Nelia Castro, Jennifer Kiss and Becky, have done to settle my 2nd lien and modify my first with Wells Fargo, jumbo loan.
I had initally hired the staff to help me modify my first but out of the blue the 2nd lien, returned after over 5 years of no contact. Their last information saying they had written off the loan. However, 2nd liens can come back and will, once you have some equity. I would strongly encourage anyone, not to wait, because the 2nd started foreclosure as soon as the equity was enough that they would get something out of us.
Nelia can be direct when she needs to be but she, Jennifer and Becky are so compassionate. Like a light at the end of a very very long dark tunnel. Listen to them! This level of work takes a considerable amount of time and knowhow and the time and knowledge more than outweighs the compensation. They are a law firm and will need to be compensated as such so they can stay in business and have a life themselves.
Going into this, you need to realize that it is ultimately the homeowners creation of their situation at some point along the way and be willing to accept this, fully. That will be the only way you will get through this. Look at the big picture and do not get caught up in the minutia of the cost, interest rate, submission of documents and trust this law firm will give you an honest view of the situation, whether you like it or not.
We had to borrow, sell, rent a room to make this happen but we were comitted to keeping our home. The staff at Michael Ripley law stuck with us for a long time, all the long way through. I hope this office is able to stay in business. Homeowners desperately need their help and guidance because there is just no one else to turn to.
If you are in our shoes, give a call. Get that consultation. Even if you jumped through the hoops, got all the docs in on time, had the right income, it is still up to the investor to make the final decision and there is no one that has control over that but them, not us, not the law office. If you are reading this, you probably sit where we did over a year ago. It was our 2nd mod, the first 4 years ago. It is a difficult process but with the help of this office it will give you insight to making the best decisions. Good luck!

Stephen Waldman was highly recommended by a close family friend, after my son had received a serious injury to his knee following an auto accident when a car came through a red light and totaled our car. I was concerned that after his initial medical treatment my son's knee was still not 100% healed, Stephen advised us to see an orthopedic specialist to get a second opinion and the specialist indicated that a further course of treatment was required.
During the process of presenting a claim to the insurance company, which accepted liability, Stephen Waldman was very professional and always kept us informed as to what was happening with our claim. He has great communication skills and it was always a pleasure to talk to him or answer the odd email.
My son has now fully recovered from his injury. The initial settlement offered by the insurance company admitting liability was declined as the injury was more serious than originally anticipated. An improved settlement offer was then accepted and my son will now have some money that he can use for college etc. after his 18th. birthday.
I am very happy with what Stephen has done for my son, without him my son would have received nothing. I highly recommend Stephen Waldman to anyone requiring the services of an excellent lawyer.

I am an Army Combat Vet who suffers from multiple traumas and drug addiction. I got myself in a huge jam. Multiple bail on bail crimes. 5 felony cases all over San Diego to Orange County to be exact. I was involved in a serious car accident and called Kerry. I was in a panicked state of mind when I called his firm; his Secratery forwarded me directly to Kerry. Kerry spoke to me in a calm demeanor and asked about the accident, which I fully explained to him. He informed me that, based off of what I told him, I wasn't at fault. But he offered to send his investigator to the scene of the accident if it would make me feel better.

I got in serious trouble when I smashed my car due to drinking and driving.

After sustaining severe injuries in an accident, Chris was recommended by a mutual friend. Chris visited me in the hospital and although not in the right frame of mind to pursue a lawsuit, he started doing needed investigation for me and my family.
Once I began to heal and rehab, Chris and his assistant Aaron Sibley were very professional in eventually filing a personal injury lawsuit against the defendant. I was impressed with the compelling case that Chris presented on my behalf.
As a result of the case presented by Chris, we settled out of court with the defendant. I felt the final settlement was fair and compensated me for the severe trauma that I suffered.

I was in an auto accident March of 2016 that was 100% the fault of the other driver. I had minor injuries but annoying pain that will be with me for the rest of my life. Tired of being jerked around by the other insurance company for over a year, I made a few calls to see what my options were. 2 lawyers would not take my case due to a gap in medical care because of work travel. They predicted the case would go to trial and they were not trial lawyers. One of them referred me to Mr Babbitt and he took my case. Luckily we settled months before trial and my settlement (in my pocket) was well over 4x the last offer I received from the other insurance company. Steve represented us in a very long drawn out eminent domain action vs the city. While we settled our case, our neighbor also was involved with the matter and his case went to trial. After 5 months, Steve prevailed against the city and their three lawyers. I was sitting at a red light, waiting to turn left. Click click click went my turn signal. I had just left the gym and I was tired. And a big zoned out. All of a sudden there was a loud noise and my whole body rolled forward and down. At first I didn't realize what had happened. And then I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the reflection of my brake lights on the vehicle behind me. Which was far too close. At first it didn't make sense. Then I realized I had been rear-ended.
I got out of my car, got the driver's information, went home and my neck really started hurting. A friend had recommended Matt Clendenin so I called him. He told me to seek medical treatment right away and that he would take care of everything. It took a couple treatments, but I got my whiplash taken care of. Next I had my car evaluated and repaired. Matt was able to get everything covered - both my medical care and my car repairs with very little effort from me. I never had to appear in court.

Michael Quade and team are the only lawyers in San Diego you should be contacting if you have an insurance claim. Our home incurred major structural damage due to a fire in 2009. Our insurance company had a different take on the matter and refused to pay what we needed to make the repairs. Our litigation was a long process and we believe other attorneys would have told us to “give up” and move on. Not Mike. He was there every step of the way. And we had a good result. His team is incredibly thorough –not a detail was overlooked (which can easily happen with a big lawsuit). When it came time to prepare for trial, he did his homework and no stone was left unturned.
