Su represented me as my defense in an extremely difficult and high stakes 2.5-year case that ended in trial. Plaintiff, plaintiffs counsel and plaintiffs peers conspired to embellish and fabricate “new facts” for a favorable outcome and Su was able to expose Plaintiffs embellishments and craft an impressive argument around conduct and credibility that ultimately won over the jury with $0 granted to the plaintiff! On top of this, Su took my case extremely personally as if it was her being sued personally taking on a full office of plaintiffs counsel seemingly with ease. Mr. Golchin was my lawyer for a case which a careless driver passed the red light at a intersection and hit my car so badly. My car was totaled and I was screened by the emergency. Unfortunately, the other driver did not acknowledge her fault, initially. But becasue of high endeavors, efforts, and consistency of Mr. Golchin, the other driver's insurance take the responsibility of the accident and paid the maximum available amount for my medical expenses and etc.
Mr Golchin is available almost 24/7 for answering your concerns and providing you with the helpful advice. He replies all the emails promptly. All the paperwork were done remotely (online) and there was no need to meet him in person. I highly appreciate Mr. Golchin skills, patience, supports, and efforts for finely settling my difficult case.

In 2014, when I was stranded in Tijuana, MX after escaping political persecution in my home country (long story), I frantically looked for an immigration attorney to seek asylum in the US. I shot off emails to several SD attorneys, asking them questions the answers to which I already knew to gauge their: 1) responsiveness and 2) expertise.
You'd be surprised how often lawyers provide the wrong answers even during the first consultation. No way I'm paying a single cent to any lawyer who doesn't know the law.
It turned out that Mr Golchin was the only who responded promptly AND correctly. Not only that, he PERSONALLY TRAVELED DOWN TO MEXICO just to meet me, and this was before I even retained him. That just goes to show his sheer dedication and willingness to go the extra mile in performing his duties. He left an extremely positive impression so I retained him.
When I was in immigration detention, he worked tirelessly to liaise with ICE officers to get me released ASAP and also visited me personally. With his assistance, I was finally paroled into the US. When the time came to file for a work permit and to file for asylum (I-589), Mr Golchin prepared the necessary form and documents conscientiously and accurately so as to prevent unnecessary delays.
When I had to defend my case in court in Los Angeles, Mr Golchin traveled more than a handful of times to my city to represent me in court. Though not a loud/flamboyant lawyer, he knows the law extremely well, he makes a huge effort to acquaint himself with the facts of your case, and when arguing he adopts a deliberate, collected, yet persuasive tone to convince the immigration judge of his position. Mr Golchin and I have always prepared through Skype conferences or personal meetings right before any court appearance.
Most importantly, Mr Golchin won my case for me (I'm finally a US asylee) at first instance, and the government attorney had also promised not to appeal the decision. I think, after all said and done, this is the most important point. I wouldn't be singing praises if my case had to go to appeal. I've also always felt comfortable consulting Mr Golchin on not only immigration matters but also other legal matters. He has been of assistance to me in legal matters beyond immigration.
In short, I'd highly recommend Mr Golchin for your immigration-related matters. He's the perfect combination of legal expertise and also genuine care and attentiveness for his clients.

I contacted the office of Michael Ripley based on all the peer reviews I had read. Now I know firsthand, where the five stars come from. Above and beyond is the simple two words to convey the level of work this office, Nelia Castro, Jennifer Kiss and Becky, have done to settle my 2nd lien and modify my first with Wells Fargo, jumbo loan.
I had initally hired the staff to help me modify my first but out of the blue the 2nd lien, returned after over 5 years of no contact. Their last information saying they had written off the loan. However, 2nd liens can come back and will, once you have some equity. I would strongly encourage anyone, not to wait, because the 2nd started foreclosure as soon as the equity was enough that they would get something out of us.
Nelia can be direct when she needs to be but she, Jennifer and Becky are so compassionate. Like a light at the end of a very very long dark tunnel. Listen to them! This level of work takes a considerable amount of time and knowhow and the time and knowledge more than outweighs the compensation. They are a law firm and will need to be compensated as such so they can stay in business and have a life themselves.
Going into this, you need to realize that it is ultimately the homeowners creation of their situation at some point along the way and be willing to accept this, fully. That will be the only way you will get through this. Look at the big picture and do not get caught up in the minutia of the cost, interest rate, submission of documents and trust this law firm will give you an honest view of the situation, whether you like it or not.
We had to borrow, sell, rent a room to make this happen but we were comitted to keeping our home. The staff at Michael Ripley law stuck with us for a long time, all the long way through. I hope this office is able to stay in business. Homeowners desperately need their help and guidance because there is just no one else to turn to.
If you are in our shoes, give a call. Get that consultation. Even if you jumped through the hoops, got all the docs in on time, had the right income, it is still up to the investor to make the final decision and there is no one that has control over that but them, not us, not the law office. If you are reading this, you probably sit where we did over a year ago. It was our 2nd mod, the first 4 years ago. It is a difficult process but with the help of this office it will give you insight to making the best decisions. Good luck!

Stephen Waldman was highly recommended by a close family friend, after my son had received a serious injury to his knee following an auto accident when a car came through a red light and totaled our car. I was concerned that after his initial medical treatment my son's knee was still not 100% healed, Stephen advised us to see an orthopedic specialist to get a second opinion and the specialist indicated that a further course of treatment was required.
During the process of presenting a claim to the insurance company, which accepted liability, Stephen Waldman was very professional and always kept us informed as to what was happening with our claim. He has great communication skills and it was always a pleasure to talk to him or answer the odd email.
My son has now fully recovered from his injury. The initial settlement offered by the insurance company admitting liability was declined as the injury was more serious than originally anticipated. An improved settlement offer was then accepted and my son will now have some money that he can use for college etc. after his 18th. birthday.
I am very happy with what Stephen has done for my son, without him my son would have received nothing. I highly recommend Stephen Waldman to anyone requiring the services of an excellent lawyer.

I was in an auto accident March of 2016 that was 100% the fault of the other driver. I had minor injuries but annoying pain that will be with me for the rest of my life. Tired of being jerked around by the other insurance company for over a year, I made a few calls to see what my options were. 2 lawyers would not take my case due to a gap in medical care because of work travel. They predicted the case would go to trial and they were not trial lawyers. One of them referred me to Mr Babbitt and he took my case. Luckily we settled months before trial and my settlement (in my pocket) was well over 4x the last offer I received from the other insurance company. This case involved a highly visible commercial property wherein the tenant abandoned the property literally in the middle of the night owing substantial rent to two property owners who were related to each other. Steve represented us in a very long drawn out eminent domain action vs the city. While we settled our case, our neighbor also was involved with the matter and his case went to trial. After 5 months, Steve prevailed against the city and their three lawyers.
