She did our will--took longer than expected, and we had to follow up with her several times to get status updates. I called her on 8/10 to do a simple legal name change, and she took over a month to start the process, then hasn't responded to any emails since then. I called to follow up on 9/22, and she told me everything would be filed by the end of the week...and nothing. Just called back, and was told yet again that she was unavailable and they had no updates.

My wife and I have been working with her oldest brother (85 yrs old) to help him with a Will and a Living Trust. For the past 3 years we have traveled from our home in Durand Mi. to San Diego to provide him with advice and provide any help he may need to get everything right. The more we worked the more complicated and confusing this procedure became, OMG were we Stumped. This year we decided we needed professional help. So, what do you do when your 2000 miles away and don't really know anybody in a big city like San Diego, GOOGLE IT! That's exactly what we did and came up with a bunch of names of attorneys that claim to be the best anywhere. We started making calls to see who we liked the best and would be able to take care of our issues. We left voice mails and asked to have someone contact us to set up a meeting. We encountered a few who were vague and after listening to what we needed really didn’t seem too interested. Then Jason, called us and we were so happy with his attitude and wiliness to complete the needed documents on a very short notice. Everyone in that firm seemed to want to help us get everything right, signed, and registered they even worked through the weekend. So, we could rest assured that we wouldn't be caught up in a nightmare with the probate courts. Thank you, Jason, and Ashley what a great feeling to know we made the right decision when we chose you

The team was amazing in helping us with our will and trust! They were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, supportive and patient with us as we figure out the best path forward to suit some of our very particular needs. It’s obviously not a fun or easy topic to discuss and they were so understanding of that giving us options and suggestions that could be relevant to us. And allowing us the time we needed to sort things out amongst our family. Sometimes we wouldn’t be able to resolve things easily so we would be at a standstill for a while between me and my husband but they were great about checking in regularly without creating any additional pressure. We also had some personal and particular road blocks that we come up against and Ashley was wonderful in giving us options and guidance around that. Both she and Jason were so kind and personable and professional. We had talked to several places before coming here and I’m so glad we did!

Due to my medical condition and the business environment, I got to a point where I couldn't make credit card payments anymore. So I didn't. But I don't really understand the paperwork system so I just let it be. After 3 years, a judgment was entered against me. So I can't simply avoid the situation like I have been doing. Which is a big mistake by the way (I should have taken care of this in the first year). But live and learn.
So I did internet research and found that bankruptcy was my best (and probably only) option. So I could try to file bankruptcy papers myself and save money - which I don't recommend. Why? Because I am going to get buried in paperwork and if I fill things out incorrectly... who knows what outcome I will get or how long it will take to get my discharge.
So I called 6 attorneys. Prices in San Diego vary from $1000-$2500. Funny thing is - all the attorneys are providing the same service. So, what do you do? Are you sure the most expensive attorney is the best? Do you really want to go with the cheapest legal center - that office that has 5 different attorneys pumping out bankruptcies - and you interact with the paralegal and not the attorney.
I wanted someone honest and reliable. Linda was not the cheapest but she was affordable. She was very articulate over the phone, so I think that is what sold me. Some of the attorneys play $ games. They quote a high price but will negotiate downward. With Linda - you don't have to do that. She gives you the right price from the first phone call. So - she may seem a little bit cheaper but she is about the same price as the others that are playing games by starting out artificially high with the quoted fee.
But I don't want an attorney who plays games. I want someone who is honest and straightforward. I want my attorney to be honest with me, and honest with the bankruptcy trustee. So I went with Linda, and I am glad I did.
Linda can be reached any time you need her - either by phone or by email (whatever you like) - and she is just a down to earth hard working family woman. Linda knows the law and is very good with paperwork. She is accurate and precise. She has an assistant Tammy who was also very reliable in my interactions with her. Both Linda and Tammy answered all my emails and phone calls promptly and thoroughly. Which means... no stress... at all.
Linda helped me write the paperwork. She is needed because the bankruptcy court expects things to look a certain way. For example - I can't write that my monthly food expense is $1000. The system doesn't allow it. So we had to lower it to $300. Now, how am I going to eat on $300/month when one single burrito at Roberto's taco shop is $12?? That's why I need Linda. Because the court system is based on the rules of paperwork and not the rules of reality.
I needed to get my bankruptcy paperwork in fast because I started to worry that the judgment creditor may come after my car. So... I asked Linda how fast she could do it? She said she will do what it takes to help me. So Linda took time away from her kids to meet with me in her law office in Downtown San Diego late in the evening. We filled out the paperwork together and nailed it!
From there - the process unfolded seamlessly and I think it was about 3 months total before my discharge. That's the fastest it can be done due to court timeline and procedures.
Go with Linda and do it right. I'm sure there are other good bankruptcy lawyers in San Diego, but - based on my experience with Ms. Mcaleer - I tell you no one could have done it better.

I wanted to make sure I write a review for Jordon Harlan after completion of my case as I believe he is absolutely the best attorney in San Diego specially in the areas of employment law and medical malpractice.
As a physician with a complicated and difficult medical legal case, I had interviewed multiple attorneys with very high recommendations and great reviews from various sources such as family members, friends and websites such as superlawyer/yelp. However, after speaking with Jordon, I knew immediately that I only wished for him to take my case.
First of all, Jordon is excellent at communication and extremely efficient at returning phone calls and replying to emails. He is very knowledgeable and knows the employment and insurance/medical malpractice law in great detail. I traveled to California in July of 23 and met family members staying at a rental unit.
At this unit I had taken a fall off a low step hitting my head on the floor causing a black eye which lasted close to five weeks.

Not too long ago, some of the businesses in my community had barriers in their facilities which excluded people, like myself, with disabilities (mobility impairments) from accessing goods and services.

Did you hear the one about the lawyer that you can actually like? I didn't think so. Well, probably because you have not heard of Mark Potter and his incredible team. Lots of lawyers claim to be fighting for you, but most all of them are just fighting to get some extra padding in their wallet. Sure, the Americans With Disabilities Act was written with the intention of making America accessible for all, but the follow through and observance of the stipulations have been slow, if not completely lacking. Yes, the Department of Justice has a wing set up to handle complaints about entities, but they are so overburdened and understaffed they fail miserably. I have tried going the “civil” and more conservative route of utilizing the Departments complaint process, but to no avail. I had even been told by a representative that I may want to contact a lawyer, because the way the law was set up, real change will only happen with legal action. This is where Mark and his team come in because they know the law backwards and forwards and keep up with all the new changes and precedent setting cases so that your case case receives the most thorough research to obtain the best result, for you and everyone else who needs to access the entity. Merry Christmas! This has been a heavier hearted year, Even though my case is not solved yet, it does not change the facts up to this point. Brian has dealt with my in jail panic freak outs twice (too many times), before he got me out of jail very quickly (Thank God & my legal team of course!), so he was present for me all the time inside, and I realized he meant it when he said he was not going to abandon me.
