I don't usually write reviews, but thanks to Spencer Thomas, I'm a father who now has custody of my four children. Initially, Spencer met with me for a FREE consultation. I had already met with other attorneys, but I felt like Spencer listened to me. He took time to become familiar with my situation, and then presented several options or strategies on how to proceed. He kept me informed throughout the whole divorce process. The only reason I marked 4 stars rather than five, is because I felt like he could have responded to my emails a little bit sooner, but still responded to every one! I really looked around for the best defense attorney I could find, came across Matt Jube on the consultation I liked how he had spoke an how he seen things similar to me, I was skeptical on who to hire at the time and went with him, case was over a year ago but he did an awesome job at times I was concerned that things would change as most attorneys say alot of things an down the line it changes an they don’t stand on what they are saying, but Matt came through to the end and it was consistent with a lot things he was telling me! The account was only removed because I called the original creditor myself and they couldn’t locate or verify the account. I spent over a month trying to cancel my account and was sent in circles. I asked for an itemized receipt of services performed for the month of January which they could not provide however they’re still charging me for an additional month. Not worth the money at all. So much easier for you to work with the creditors yourself.

The account was only removed because I called the original creditor myself and they couldn’t locate or verify the account. I spent over a month trying to cancel my account and was sent in circles. I asked for an itemized receipt of services performed for the month of January which they could not provide however they’re still charging me for an additional month. Not worth the money at all. Mr. Kramer had my case for several months before he 'changed his mind' and dumped my case. I sustained a brain injury and neck/back trauma. Mr. Kramer explained that he liked the easy, 'clean' cases. My case was too messy, so after months of representative, he quit. He never spoke to my doctor, and he never attempted to settle my case. He also slowed my treatment by insisting that I wait for a neuropsychologist until he found one for me. He didn't want me going to just anyone. So that treatment was delayed by a couple of months. Mr. Kramer is not a man of his word. In my case, as a client, I meant nothing to him.

My mother has used Scott for a long time and never had much of an issue, HOWEVER...I retained him in January of 2023 for a child protective order I had filed on behalf of my son against my ex, and in court, despite the overwhelming evidence, he more or less just sat there and did nothing which allowed my ex to get it dismissed. Fast forward to now (December 2023) and I have filed to gain full custody of my son, called Scott again more due to history to see if he'd be willing to take the case, said he would but we'd need to get the hearing date changed due to him not being available that day, ok that's fine, we also had a verbal agreement between us directly that he was willing to wait on payment for retainer so we could get the money, but he would start on everything right away, upon attempting 3 DIFFERENT TIMES to come in and sign the retention paperwork, I was turned away by paralegals that "needed to talk to him first" about what? I made the agreement with him, not with a paralegal. Finally was able to come in to sign the papers, but I was told by Josie that he "needed everything up front first" 100% contrary to what we agreed to, and that "HE was the one who said it" yet refused to ask him with me standing there to confirm, as he came out of his office and saw me sitting there, and to this day still have not gotten a return email or phone call to confirm or deny any of this
Like others have said, if you want to not be jerked around by this firm, then don't bother even talking to them, and they've missed out on a retainer and a guaranteed case win that would bolster their reputation

Don't wait like we did! Graden Jackson and his staff saved us a lot of heartache, hassle and money when, literally, my Mom was on her deathbed. My siblings and I assumed my Mom had all her legal and financial business squared away. We were wrong. Fortunately, we realized it in time. Mr. Jackson and his team helped us navigate everything from Mom's property and accounts, to life insurance beneficiary protocol, to her retirement funds. He recommended a Trust be set up, and he knew just what paperwork we needed, what needed to be notarized (he is a notary, which is SO helpful) and he did it in record time. Now, we've had him take care of our Trust (so as to spare our children the worry) and we've referred my husband's parents to Mr. Jackson and his team. Was a waste of my time and money. Over 8k spent and had absolutely nothing to show for it. Felt like blaine Edward’s was working with opposing counsel instead of me. Was told during negations that I was better to sue my ex after the divorce for breach of contract, turns out I can’t because we settled on the in the agreement. Was also told in December it would only cost me another $1000 to finish my divorce. Well $1500 later still in the same place. Charged for work that wasn’t done. Also going to file a complaint with the Utah bar association. Also keep getting sent a bill that I paid, they won’t respond to an email, won’t answer when I call and won’t return a call so I can figure out why I’m getting sent a bill when I called in and paid it. Nothing but crooks. Edited so there was a problem with them processing my final payment. Instead of calling me and letting me know they sent an email. I tried calling them to figure it out but they would not answer or return my calls. They sent me to collections because I filed a complaint with the ethics board. Instead of calling me to get paid they sent me to collection. Eventually they got it back from collection and took off the interest, but that’s just petty to send me to collections because I filed a complaint about his lack of representation.

I paid just around $3000 in attorney fees for 2 months of representation with no court appearances or filings… just emails with OC and phone calls without even meeting Mr. Hoyer in person. He quickly referred me to his subordinate counsel for several weeks. I received such a large bill through two months, I made a change immediately and was so glad that I did. When I requested correspondence between him and opposing counsel to try to substantiate some of the cost, he would not forward that to me. You may want to make that inquiry if you ever decide that you want to retain him as I feel, this is highly irregular and far from transparent when you are paying for his services. Mr. Hoyers office said they would only send emails to my new attorney if he requests them but, would not send them to me. I asked on multiple occasions for a 10 minute appointment with Mr. Hoyer to place a name to a face and shake a hand after spending thousands of dollars the first few weeks and during the first month and was told he was ill or on vacation and just given the run around or in court. I also paid the $300 initial one hour consultation, which was by phone and not in person. I will tell you that my experience was a couple years ago in 2022 and I have utilized five attorneys for business and real estate transactions that were FANTASTIC. Mr Hoyer not only did not place his client as first priority, but overcharged and was an inefficient in utilizing an associate inexperienced attorney to assist and charged and charged. He was not transparent and would not share communications ie emails between he and opposing counsel when I need to address my situation… when I retained my next attorney, his open book policy was to CC all communications which I found refreshing and exceptionally transparent. Do you due diligence here…my experience was challenging, costly and a nightmare.

I did a lot of research and calls while searching for a lawyer. Once I spoke with Isaac, I knew he was going to be the one I hired. He was immediately interested in my case and asked all the questions the other lawyers didn't. He truly made me feel like he cared about my situation and his goal was for things to end in my best interest. It was a long process, but he and Kellie kept me updated as much as they could. Isaac was knowledgeable and efficient, he did everything he could to provide me the best service at the best cost. 10/10 recommend and I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

I had a court case back in 2008 and Robert Miner represented me. Fast forward 11 years and the court had put a warrant out for me, saying I had not turned something in. It was so ridiculous. Even though so much time had passed and he was no longer representing me, he still was very responsive to my emails and phone calls, and assisted me pro bono in getting my case dismissed. Awesome lawyer that really cares, even 11 years later.

My mom was accused of 3 ridiculous charges and she was petrified she was going to go to jail for these charges for making a split second decision to smack our fence and two fence boards fell out. She panicked when she was told she needed to appear before a judge for criminal mischief and trespassing and animal cruelty, all of which were trumped up charges by some hotshot new cop. She called her divorce attorney Tom King who HIGHLY recommended Rob to her. She called the number and was so surprised/impressed that Rob himself answered the phone and she told him what happened and he immediately calmed her down. She met with him for her free consult and immediately hired him on the spot. He came to pick she and I up before every court appearance and talked us through everything and was upfront and honest. We were always in and out of every court appearance so quick. He got her 2 of her misdemeanors dropped and got her one down to probation for one year. He was great in calming my mom down and talking us through every step of the way so we have no surprises. I would recommend Rob to anyone with any criminal charge no matter how big or small. He was worth every dime that she paid him!

We called and asked if they could write a cease and desist letter. A Jennifer Later emailed us that an Adam Kunz charges $100 for 30 minutes. When a law firm won’t tell you if they can assist you or not without charging a fee it’s a scam.

My fiancé hired Mary Bevan to help her with a custody matter. After the first hearing we had concerns with Mary's approach and confidence in the court room, after the 2nd hearing we realized she was as good as having no legal counsel. She has no control whatsoever in the court room and she allowed the apposing lawyer to walk all over her. It got to the point where it seemed like Mary didn't believe my fiancé and constantly kept telling her to be honest in order for her to be able to help. My fiancé never lied and was honest from the start. We ended up firing her and hiring a new lawyer. It took the new lawyer 1 hearing to get the case resolved, Mary had 7 months and didn't do anything.

I found Pearson Butler via MetLife legal plan. Connected with Russ to get our family trust in place. Straight forward to complete, no complaints there. Reached back out to Russ about a completely separate matter unrelated to estate planning. His response was "I do not practice law in this area and thus, have not idea." I guess I just had more expectation than a lazy response with typos. Too much to ask if there's someone he can put me in contact with? I will be moving on from Pearson Butler and find another firm to do estate planning in the future.
