Had some truancy issues and i went to James, eventually hiring him. Him and his staff were friendly and courteous while dealing with this whole ordeal. In the end, James' skill had everything wrapped up in an effiecient and timely manner. I would hire him again, should the need arise.

When I first met Jim I was facing a Domestic Assault charge out of Grandville Michigan. Quickly he went to work gathering information and staying in constant contact in order to dig at the case. His confidence picked me up when I felt very discouraged. I had a tremendous amount of pressure riding on the outcome of my case. While in jail he visited me and continued to hash away at my case. He gave me hope even when I had none. His confidence, dedication and hard work as a lawyer are all virtues that you would look for in representation. Above all else he was my friend when I had none. I give Jim a 10/10 and would recommend him AND his firm to anyone. Even his assistant Sydney is helpful and extremely friendly with every single encounter. I came to Elizabeth 3 years ago with a pile of paperwork, a lot of stories and a drug addict mother of my son. After looking through my very unorganized evidence of what’s been going on for a few years, she explained to me that I have a case. She said with honesty that this is a very “different” case considering the drugs, alcohol, mental instability, etc and being able to prove all of this. She admitted that this kind of case is more rare than others but she would study all areas of everything going on in my case and represent me to the best of her ability. Now fast forward 3 years, tons of court dates in front of our referee and judge, a 2 day trial and even more court dates in front of our judge, post trial. I now have full custody of my son. He is out of harms way and is the happiest he’s ever been. Elizabeth went above and beyond. She accepted all my calls, she called me regarding issues and has fully been just as involved in every aspect of this case as I have been (which is ALOT). She has completly took it upon herself to further her education regarding the very “different” aspects of my case such as drugs, how the mom is beating drug tests while still being high, different affects from different drugs and alcohol, getting medical records showing the mental instability and much much more. NOT TO MENTION, I AM A DAD. We all know courts can be a little biased towards fathers. Thanks to Elizabeth Silverman, my son is safe and happy. It’s been a extremely long road but Elizabeth has been here for me every step of the way. Not only as my lawyer but as my advisor and even sometimes my therapist. All while seeming like a good friend. I would also like to add, Elizabeth only hires the best Paralegals there is in the state of Michigan. Dear Elizabeth, It was my pleasure to have you as my lawyer and my counselor during my divorce trial. Having some ideas that divorce is very painful procedure, yet I could not even imagine that a person whom I considered my best friend and the most closed person (my ex-wife) turned into the bitterest enemy. Your professionalism, your excellent knowledge of judicial system helped me tremendously during the divorce trial. What impressed me, that you pay your attention to big issues, as well as to little or even tiny problems. It is your big role in Macomb County Court’s decision to award me not only with joint legal custody, but also with joint physical custody. (Later I found out that it is not often for men in Michigan to be awarded with joint physical custody.) Based on my experience, I can advise to person who is going to get divorce, try to avoid it. If there is no way to avoid divorce, then talk to your spouse, try to solve problem peacefully. I've worked with Jim on a few different different issues, and couldn't have been happier to have him on my side. When planning for a trust, he was straightforward and easy to understand, making the normally daunting process simple for us to breakdown and get our paperwork together to begin. Mr. Bourque has a straightforward and clear approach that made him very effective, especially in deposition and cross-examination. He is not theatrical, but he can be incisive both in his written and oral arguments. He explained things clearly to me, even when it wasn't what I wanted to hear -- which I appreciated. He was also more than fair about not charging me for work he did that (through no fault of his) turned out not to be relevant. He is an effective, no-nonsense litigator, and I recommend him without reservations.

I hired Tom after 1.5 years of work with a local mediator and a different divorce attorney could not achieve a settlement in mediation of my divorce. Obviously, I was involved in a very difficult divorce case. There was a farm property involved, nearly 20 years of marriage, and two high school children involved. Tom was brought in for his experience as trial lawyer when my case did go to trial. He has solid background in property laws, and was very helpful in sorting through the legal issues of the property division with the CPA we had working on my case. He was helpful sorting through property tax records to discover the truth needed when we went to trial. Tom is detailed, organized, and a quick thinker when in action in court. His cross examination of witnesses was superb in drawing out the truth and non truths in my case. He was able to do this in a non threatening or hostile manner. In the end, I got full legal and physical custody of the children, and a fair division of the marital property. I do not wish for any woman to go through the same lengthy (and costly) process that I did. However, if you find yourself in a difficult divorce with property and children involved... and end up going to trial.... I would highly recommend Tom.

I hired John for my divorce. The first time I met him, we talked for over an hour, which made me feel comfortable about having him as my attorney. He shared a lot about himself too, so it wasn't' like going to a stuffy attorney's office. He seemed like he cared and was very easy to talk to. My case was difficult and he made sure to keep me positive about not giving up, and I'm so glad I listened to him. He has a lot of knowledge, and I would 100% hire him if I ever need an attorney again.

Jason Hagelthorn helped me with setting up my new business. He took all of the stress out from under me and my partner. Jason was very quick to respond whenever we had to contact him and was always on top of what needed to be done. He secured and negotiated our lease agreement with our landlord and structured our corporation to best suit our business. I have used other attorneys in the past for similar matters and have never been this satisfied with the outcome. My mother abruptly passed away and she unfortunately did not leave a will. I had met Chris previously through a networking group in the area and desperately needed help with the probate process. When my father-in-law, Chuck, was suddenly taken to the hospital with heart issues, he realized that he needed to "get his affairs in order." I called Chris. He met us at the hospital that afternoon to discuss Chuck's wishes. My mother-in-law, Ann, was there as well. Chris discussed with them their options for medical and financial power of attorney and estate planning. He was compassionate, understanding and understandable, without a lot of "legal speak" that can be confusing. All the documents were drawn up for both of them. Chris met us the next day, again at the hospital, to get everything signed. We were fortunate that Chuck recovered and is doing well. We are also fortunate that we are now ready for whatever does happen. Chris made everything painless. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing estate planning.

Professional and compassionate, Lisa shames all other attorneys in her field. She was always ready to explain what was happening during my identity theft case, why its happening and how we can counteract it. She treats you as a human being and not a client. So I have used Lisa Okasinski for a lot of really varied problems, all of them real estate related. She has helped me obtain a quiet title on a problematic property, kept an unsavory character for stealing said property, and allowed me to negotiate the sale of that property (with MAJOR environmental and title issues) at a 6 figure markup. She has been diligent about protecting me and my interests every step of the way and while pleasant and gracious, has been a shark where my interests are concerned. Mark assisted us through the process of applying for and obtaining a variance to build on family property in Shiawassee County. Due to an error when the permit was issued, the situation was difficult to navigate through to an amicable decision. My parents, after years of thinking, wanted to have an estate plan set up. After a lengthy research process, I found Mark's law firm. After reaching out to Mark and learning about his decades of estate planning expertise, I felt very comfortable setting up a consultation for my parents with Mark. After my parents met with Mark and his team, they were also very impressed with Mark's legal knowledge as he was able to address each and every questions they had. Attorney Phifer is one of the most astute probate and estate planning lawyers I know. Not only were his years of experience obvious when dealing with the sometimes confusing details of my grandmother's estate great, but the amount of research that he does as well as his deftness with current laws and trends are very much head and shoulders over other attorneys I spoke with. Reminds me of the old song by an artist who said Knowledge reigns supreme over nearly everyone! Attorney Phifer's does that indeed!

As the executor of an estate, I tried liquidating a property that was in probate by myself. I ran into many problems and delays because I didn't fully understand real estate or the probate process. Mr. Phifer helped me close the probate and sell the property without any incumbrances. I sold the property in the nick of time before losing it to property taxes.

I have limited space in this review, so I will try to keep it short. The team goes above and beyond for their clients, and without them, I have no idea where I would be. They give the most straightforward advice, and if something goes bump, they know their stuff well enough to maneuver around it. There is always a way, and they find it. They are very good at letting their clients use their voice, and making their voices heard. I cannot say enough good things about them, so I'm leaving multiple reviews in multiple sites, in hopes that everyone can see what I see in the team at Hyde Law. I didn't find them, they found me, and took a chance with me, a chance I will be FOREVER in their debt in terms of owing them my life. I'm sure I've given them more than one headache, but they are ever so patient and understanding, reassuring me when they know I need it, and letting me rant and rave while they pick through the relevant pieces. I have every faith in them to do right by me and my children in the end. No matter how things turn out, I know they will and have given it their all.

Was charged with a fifteen year felony in wayne county on next to no evidence. Didn't matter to the prosecution of course. Consulted with several big name lawyers in the area who didn't hear a word I said and seemed like they just wanted a paycheck for a plea bargain. I consulted with a family member that he represented in the past. Joseph absolutely smoked the states only "witness " on the stand to such an extend that I may have actually felt bad for them if they weren't trying to imprison me. The prosecution looked embarrassed a meager fifteen minutes into the hearing. Case dismissed WITH prejudice. Long story short, skip all those " highly acclaimed " jokes with paid reviews and hire this guy instead. You will not regret it.
