I found Attorney Cotton to be VERY competent and easy to work with. While representing my interest with an insurance company, he was accessible, informative and clear about the law as it related to my case. I was involved in a case and missed the court. When I received the verdict I was desperate. I called 5 different law firms to ask for help, but most of them told me they cannot help me. My colleagues recommended Jacalen's firm. They told me if there is anyone can help me in my case, her firm would be the best place in Ann Arbor area. So I went there hoping there would help me. I was lucky that Jacalen was there and she reviewed my case. She gave me some very professional advises and explained in detail how I could do for my situation. After I hired her as my lawyer in that case, she helped me solved my problem in time. After 4 months, the lawyer from another side in that case came to me again and ask money, saying I owe him about $5,000. I sent Jacalen an email ask for help, she helped me in the second day and the lawyer on the other side admit that the letter ask money from me is a mistake. She helped me again in time. And she did not charge me for this. I do appriate her quick response and very professional, honest, and thoughful service.

During a very difficult time in which I had gotten myself into some trouble, Jason was extremely helpful in assisting me. His professionalism and kind-heart showed through the way he worked with me without judgement, but also with my best interest in mind. He took the time to get to know me and truly make the case a personal one amidst the cold-hard facts of what I had done. My sentence was significantly reduced from what I was originally charged with and my consequences were much less than any other individual who would have landed on the sentence I ended with. I am a retired executive from a national company base here in Michigan. A few weeks ago I received an email from Ryan Nephew alerting me that I may have overpaid on taxes. I blew it off as a scam. However I soon received another email which led me to research his background. It looked legit so I called him. He explained that his team has been looking into tax overpayments and that his office determined I was owed in excess of 5 grand. He explained that I would not have anything to pay out of pocket. I just needed to sign off on his ok to challenge my taxes. He didn't need any additional info such as my SSN. I gave him the ok and a few weeks later I received a nice check. His fee was deducted from my tax rebate. Had his office not reached out I never would have recovered a cent of what was owed mainly because I did not know I was owed anything. He and his team are legit. If you are contacted by him I urge you to respond.

We received a letter From Ryan Nephew. We did not think it was legit. I searched Ryan Nephew on the internet and found that he had an existing business and had great reviews. I researched what he said in his letter. The State of Michigan withholds a tax from the seller when a home in Michigan sells. In most cases the tax is improperly withheld. I called and spoke to Ryan Nephew. He explained to me the situation and that he could recover the tax. His fee was only a small portion of the actual refund received and was solely contingent upon receiving the refund He was a professional at the highest level. He answered all my questions. He filled out all the paperwork for the refund. He was in constant communication with me. Upon filing the paperwork, the refund was received in a few weeks. We received $7,500 that we had no idea we could get. This was found money. It effectively was a significant reduction of our broker’s commission. Please do not ignore this letter. Please call Ryan. Please let you realtors know so that they can communicate this to all sellers. Ryan specializes in this and please make this widely known.

I received multiple letters from Ryan Nephew's office regarding a possible refund of a tax that I had paid when I sold my house in 2020. I took a few months before I called to see if it was legit.
Totally legit. They found a loophole in a tax that I had paid that I wasn't supposed to.
I am receiving a check as we speak. It takes about a month. They handled all the paperwork. I docusigned the papers and had to send a form to the State of Michigan to prove who I was.
Many are scams, but Ryan Nephew is not one of them.
I totally trust him and his office to handle my affairs.

I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a challenging year. This has been especially true for me as I lost my job in March and dug myself into a whole that was impossible to get out of with my rent. David from Edward and Alan law went above and beyond to help me. I was in the process of getting evicted and was so lost on what to do , he went out of his way to send me organizations for funding , personally contacted these organizations to help me and managed to help me get all of the money I needed to cover my rent and avoid eviction. He did this all without receiving any payment from me . David from Edward and Alan law had no obligation to help me, but he did more than that. Deanna Bundy is an outstanding Bankruptcy Attorney. We handled the entire process via eMail (never met face-to-face). She sent me an information packet that contained everything I needed to do -- including credit training, documents required, and the whole process. She was there for me by telephone at every step of the way. If I got her voicemail, she called me back within 2-hours -- WoW! After the initial hearing with the Bankruptcy Trustee, the Trustee had a few questions (normal), and we handled those expeditiously. She sent me the final discharge notice the DAY she received it. The whole process start-to-finish took 4-months -- exactly 117-days. Anyone who tells you they can do it faster than that probably does not know what they are talking about.
Deanna Bundy is courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and VERY Professional. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a competent Bankruptcy Attorney!

I found Pete Armstrong strictly by accident, and it was a blessing that I did. I actually found him before I even met him, I filled out a motion on my own for reimbursement of medical expenses in the self help center at the court house, and it was actually Pete who helped me find the right forms, and without telling me what to say, guided me through filling out those forms. I never would have been able to win my motion without his help.
When I went looking for an attorney, I fell upon Pete by accident. I called and left him a message, told him what I was needing and got a very prompt response. After speaking with me, he told me he could look over my file at the court and let me know his opinion on what I should do. I was grateful for any advice he would give me, and after discussing fees I decided to retain him to be my voice in order to do what needed to be done in the best interest of my children in my parenting time and child support case. Pete was on my children's side through the entire thing. I can't express how much it meant to me that he wasn't on my side, and he wasn't on my ex's side, but he was there to protect my children and do what was best for them.
I have never encountered anyone like him before, no matter what I said, or expressed to him, he never judged, he was the voice that I needed to speak for me and to help me do right by my children.
I have since reconciled with my ex and we are putting our family back together, and even in that Pete has been helpful, letting me know what steps needed to be taken to rectify issues outstanding with our cases in court.

There's a difference between lawyers who know how to look up the law, and those who know it off the top of their head. Whims is the latter. He instantly caught something that the other side I think was completely unaware of. It ended up giving us a ton of leverage in a very satisfactory settlement. I made the unfortunate decision to drive after drinking. I was charged with OWI with high BAC. (.19, and .17) After talking with several attorneys in the area, I made the decision to hire Robert. Robert took the time to get to know my personal accomplishments and not just the crime I committed. Because of his commitment and professionalism, my charge was immediately reduced. In addition, at my sentencing I was given non-reporting probation, and a 4 hour highway safety course. When I first contacted Robert I was facing a car installed breathylizer, possible jail, reporting probation, and community service.
Robert also has the respect of the courts. Regardless of how many people filled the court room, Robert was always the first case the judge called. The judge made personal recognition of Robert, which put me at great ease.
He is a family man, but also respected professional. He is involved in his community, and it is obvious everyone that works with him (judge, court employees, probation officers) has great respect for him and find him trustworthy.

I first met Kirk through a client. She was getting help revising an existing trust. I found his advice very practical, and was fairly priced. He was recommending what was best for her. So I had lunch with Kirk to learn more about him.
Since then he's helped a number of my clients, and has done some work personally for my family.
Kirk has been an excellent resource. When I come across an interesting estate problem Kirk has always been there, willing to lend professional guidance.
As a Financial Advisor, one of the risks in recommending others is that they might do something wrong. Financially there is no direct upside for me, but there could be significant client relationship downside if the other professional makes mistakes or treats my client poorly.
If all goes well however, then the bonds I have with clients are strengthened. They know I’m going beyond my job and making sure their estate is in order. I hired Jeff Franklin about 3 years ago. He has resolved custody, divorce, and a legal case for me. He is very knowledgeable. Very respectful and polite to both parties. Every circumstance is different but if your doing the right thing all the time then he will make sure you get what you rightfully deserve. I.E. I have full custody of my son, divorce was a breeze, and got out of a bind with the law almost as soon as I hired him(I had a different attorney at first and was in some trouble for a while til I hired Jeff). He does great work and fast for how slow the courts can be. If I ever needed a attorney again, I would hired him again. I highly recommend Jeff Franklin!
