Amy Steerman has been our attorney for over ten years. We met her through a number of members of our parish church. Our first contact was with the preparation of wills, health power of attorney and legal power of attorney for my partner and myself prior to our marriage. She helped us establish an irrevocable trust for both of us. As the years have passed she has helped update our wills.
When my brother was in the hospital in critical condition she came to the hospital and created a power of attorney for him. To ensure the validity of the power Amy had the attending Doctor sign as a witness. I say this to show that Amy is thorough in all of her processes. I had a very complicated ownership of a property with my two brothers. As they each passed away Amy assisted in determining the tax owed to the government in each case. She assisted in all the paperwork required by the government in their deaths. Later when we sold the property she assisted with the settlement (representing both buyer, who was a close friend of ours, and seller). She also assisted in determining the federal tax to be paid.
My father lived in Florida and as his health declined we decided that we needed an attorney in Florida to assist in legal situations. Amy researched and validated his credentials. We were very pleased with her recommendation.
We had a property in Philadelphia with a very difficult and combative tenant. When we decided to sell the property we asked Amy to represent us and handle the request for him to move as we did not want to have any contact with him. She gave him notice to move and informed him that he was not to contact us and any questions (of which there were many) be directed only to her. We were extremely pleased with a situation that we had been dreading for a number of years.
My partner was the executor of a will for a close friend. The will was extremely complicated involving the sale of a big property, funding a trust created by a bank, the distribution of funds to four individuals which included prepaying the inheritance tax for each person. Amy was indispensable in that process. In order to save some money and because it was not in Philadelphia but Montgomery County it was her opinion that he could process most of the requirements himself. When items such as the amount of tax for prepayment et cetera arose Amy provided the answers. She assisted in many other complicated and required procedures that filing a will requires. She recommended a tax accountant for preparing a tax report for the current year and several tax reports that were due in the several years to follow as well as the final tax report. Again, her referral was excellent.
Amy has a way of explaining legal issues clearly for the layperson and she is always available to answer a question. I want to add that she does not follow the practice of billing for 30-second increments and will talk and offer advice without billing for every event. We have recommended her to a number of close friends and without exception, they have been extremely pleased with her service.
We trust her without exception and to show this trust we have requested her to be the executrix of our wills. We highly recommend Amy Steerman.

In the almost twenty years that we have known Amy she has proven herself time and time again to be an absolutely phenomenal attorney! Amy originally prepared our wills, livings wills and established an irrevocable trust for our daughter. We subsequently had her update our documents so as to keep them current. I recently hired Paul to represent me against my ex-wife for custody and support proceedings. He was the third person I consulted with and it did not take long to know I was in good hands. I have retained T for over 15 years or so. I'd like to think I can judge an attorney's quality. Through the years, I have worked and been friends with numerous attorneys who are considered excellent by their own peers....including Harvard Law, major Wall St firms and Europe in many facets of the practice. Further, my father was in the judiciary and I think I have a pretty good understanding of what it takes to be exceptional. If someone asks me who my attorney is (although I use several for various specialties,) I say Theresa. T has gone above and beyond so many times for friends and myself. If I chose one special quality in addition to her utter competency and professionalism it is TRUST. I have known T's family since I was a child and law is in their blood. Just good people. We have all heard the nefarious remarks about attorney's and their kinship to sharks. T couldn't be farther from this stigma. I sat with Theresa this week to discuss some business matters and it was more like having coffee with a friend. No rush. I have walked courthouses with Theresa, and, it is obvious she is well known and well respected by the many walking the halls. And, the bonus is Autumn and Jen are the best! I noted the comments by the person (since disproven) which said she did not return calls, etc. Hello? Have you ever worked with an atty before? An atty does not call back unless they have something to tell you. Think about it.....legal wheels turn slow...it saves you billing for wasted phone time . A unique thing with T's staff is they are "up-to-speed" at all times....I can't tell you how many times I have called with a question and they dealt with it in a 30-second call. You won't get that with most attorneys. The office is run like a family....just what you want when dealing with nerve-wracking issues. Professional, classy, thorough....pals. Recommended unequivocally.

We hired Mr. Cook for what we thought would be a small case. Unfortunately it did not turn out that way. The case involved an educational institution and we are thankful for Mr. Cook’s knowledge, assertiveness when necessary, and calm demeanor when necessary. When I first spoke with Att. Stump on the phone he told me he would work his butt off for me. He exceeded that.
