As a small business owner, I've put off needing an attorney for as long as possible. I was referred to Matt by another business owner and I couldn't be happier with the work he did for me. He made filing an LLC incredibly easy and even helped me figure out the best structure for my business based on my current and future needs. He also drew up a contractor agreement that addressed additional issues I hadn't even considered and added a significant amount of protection for me and my business.

My wife left me unilaterally and unexpectedly, and took our 2 year old son with her. She also retained an attorney in San Diego, who supposedly has raving reviews, and filed a Domestic Violence Restraining Order against me.
I had to act quickly and entered my name into a link on the internet while looking for attorney's to defend myself, and voila, I received a call from Ross Veta. I was skeptical at first, but after an initial consultation, it was clear he was the right person for the task at hand due to his ‘calming effect’ on the situation I was facing. Ross and I worked together like a team, which is what people really need to do if they intend on prevailing in their case.
My estranged wife’s declaration was not only full of lies, distortions, and half-truths, but errors, including the wrong date we were married, with many other absurd allegations. I don’t know if these errors were hers, from her attorney, or his staff, but her declaration was poorly written, and her attorney should have ensured that these absurd allegations were not part of her declaration; they clearly made her out to be foolish and petty.
Ross took full advantage of the opposing party’s errors, omissions, and lies, yet focused on those things that truly mattered to the judge in our case, someone he is familiar with here in North County.
Divorce is a very emotional experience, and it has been for me since my estranged wife tried to drag me through the mud. Yet Ross Veta saw right through all the smoke and mirrors, and came up with a game plan to deal with each allegation. Needless to say, I wasn’t as impressed my estranged wife’s attorney nearly as much as I was with Ross Veta.
Ross has a demeanor that can’t be matched; he’s focused, but is also a very likable person, something that’s rare in the legal profession.
The outcome? I won the case and the Domestic Violence case was dropped, even before Ross had the opportunity to cross-examine my estranged wife. And I even have joint custody, and almost 50% visitation of my 2 year old son. Thanks for everything Ross.

I recently closed a complicated and rushed real estate transaction in Mexico and retained Antonio Maldonado. I also have used Antonio in the past. I cannot say enough positive things about this guy. He is extremely bright, professional, reliable, prompt, and has loads of integrity. I would not hesitate for a moment to use him again and while I do not do this often I strongly encourage others to use him. Antonio was available to me 24/7 as were other in his firm, he was patient and a clear and concise communicator. He also listened very well and always repeated back to me what he felt I was saying. Lastly, there were times that he needed to be "tough" in my transaction both with me and others and he did not hesitate to do so which I respect. Again, if you have any legal matters that you need assistance with in Mexico you should consider Antonio.

After sustaining severe injuries in an accident, Chris was recommended by a mutual friend. Chris visited me in the hospital and although not in the right frame of mind to pursue a lawsuit, he started doing needed investigation for me and my family.
Once I began to heal and rehab, Chris and his assistant Aaron Sibley were very professional in eventually filing a personal injury lawsuit against the defendant. I was impressed with the compelling case that Chris presented on my behalf.
As a result of the case presented by Chris, we settled out of court with the defendant. I felt the final settlement was fair and compensated me for the severe trauma that I suffered.

I was unexpectedly served with an order preventing my son and I from moving across the country two days before our planned relocation. I was losing my mind and ended up through blind luck, with Mrs. McKeag as my attorney. From day one she calmed me down, always listened to me rant and rave, and was realistic with me as far as the possible outcomes. She never looked for a way to nickel and dime me and charge me for every possible thing she could have, and above all she made me feel like my son and I were her utmost priority, as opposed to being one of many cases on her plate.
She was realistic in what we should and should not do as far as filing motions. There were several times we could have taken a course of action that would have cost me thousands, yet had a very low chance of succeeding. We saw this when the opposing council took this route. When our court dates happened she was always prepared, always solid, and never once was caught unawares. She always took the high road, and always provided solid advice.
I honestly believe that if I had not her as my lawyer things could have turned out much differently no matter how in the right I was. She is the sole reason I won my move away case and was allowed to move across the country. She was able to read the judge and adjust her approach to the case on his rulings, and decisions in cases prior to ours being called. I would say this is one of her strongest qualities as opposed to a lawyer who just gets up and reads from a legal pad, or tries to stretch and twist circumstances to fit an altered version. I consider Mrs. McKeag a friend and will never be able to express my gratitude and what a phenomenal lawyer she is adequately enough through words. Her character is beyond reproach, and if I ever find myself in a position that I am in need of council, she will be my first call.

This case involved a highly visible commercial property wherein the tenant abandoned the property literally in the middle of the night owing substantial rent to two property owners who were related to each other. Tim had to navigate through this mess representing only one of the property owners (me), which most lawyers would avoid like the plague. Instead, Tim handled it all with a cool head when family drama rivaled anything I could have ever foreseen. I hired Mr. Tatro to help my company collect on a past due bill for our construction consulting services to a large national management company. From the very beginning he kept control. His personal involvement was instrumental in a complete payment with all interest.

Steve represented us in a very long drawn out eminent domain action vs the city. While we settled our case, our neighbor also was involved with the matter and his case went to trial. After 5 months, Steve prevailed against the city and their three lawyers. As a witness testifying in our neighbors case I was amazed at the level of detail, organization and understanding that the Steve commanded. He made the three experienced attorneys working for the city look like amateurs.

How do I evaluate my lawyer, Steve McKinley? Let me count the ways:
Steve is an excellent communicator. In speaking, as in court, Steve is authoritative, assertive, polished and confident. In writing, in legal documents, Steve is an excellent wordsmith. I can't define what makes a good writer, but I know it when I see it. Steve's writing skills make boring legal docs come to life.
A good lawyer takes care of the details and deadlines-lets me sleep at night free of worry.
A good lawyer is emotionally invested in my case.
A good lawyer truly has my back.
A good lawyer is like the team captain.
Steve is all of these things and that's a comforting feeling.
What about the question of big firm vs. small firm? Freeland McKinley & McKinley is a small firm. However, you never feel isolated from the legal mainstream. Steve is very active professionally; always interacting with other lawyers. He has partners to bounce ideas off. And, of course, in this case, having a wife, Karen, as a partner is a real advantage. And then add an excellent paralegal, Melody, to the mix and you have a well-oiled machine.
So, you can tell that my wife and I are happy clients. It's difficult to try to appear not too biased when that's exactly what we are. We like our lawyer!

Mr. Malloy prepared a complete trust package for me, including a will and advance health care directive. I chose him because he was recommended both by colleagues and clients. I found him very easy and comfortable to work with. I was very satisfied with the work that he did.
He even makes housecalls for her elderly clients who find travel to his office difficult. Mr. Malloy works very well with clients, who due to their age or condition, are sometimes difficult (and crochety). He is very patient, answers all questions completely and returns calls very quickly. I have been very pleased with his help for my parents and my husband.

We had a civil litigation which was very complex. The case was involved among US/India. I spoke to several (more than 25+) attorneys in SD/Irvine/Vista/LA but I ended up in this building. Didn't knew that I was going in safest hands. Rebecca was very hard working , intelligent, highly responsive (within in few minutes) and she spent quite a lots in making sure that we are putting all facts together in best possible way. I was referred to Michael Weiner by another attorney who spoke very highly of him. He puts his clients' needs first and fights for their rights. I was sued for over a million dollars for defamation from a Yelp review. I did not have the resources to fight such a massive lawsuit. I hired Michael to help me with a legal matter (a business where I had been storing valuables absconded with my property and sold it! And we had to sue him to try to get my money back), and after working with him to a very successful conclusion of this legal case, I cannot find enough good things to say about the GREAT GREAT job Michael did.
He managed to negotiate a very satisfactory settlement for me that I thought was quite fair value given the reality of what was legally do-able. I believe it was his experience in the law that enabled him to do this, and as well I was very happy in the way Michael worked with me….good communication, good service and in my opinion very fair pricing considering the amount of work he did.

I was reffered to her by my friend, and I had very complex case and you do not want to know how much I was sued. In my head I was getting ready for bankruptcy until I met her. She look at my case and wrote very small amount on the paper and said to me, are you comfortable with this amount? I said yes and guess what after the stellement I am paying that small amount. And my settlement is the best one in this class action sued case. She did a great job and saved me from bankruptcy and meanwhile she saved me alot of money. I highly recommand her.

We are a very small business that doesn't make a whole lot of money, a large competitor decided to infiltrate our company, steal trade secrets, slander us online and file a frivolous suit against us. We hired an attorney that did a lot of damage to our case and ran our bill up to around $40,000. 90% of it for unnecessary research and communications (mainly with us over billing). We ran asap and were lucky enough to find Ms. Kazemi. She repaired the serious mistakes in our case unbelievably fast when time was running out, and has been extremely fair and understanding regarding cost. We could not ask for a better attorney. She saved us from going completely out of business and has fought hard for us, negotiated well, always communicated with us to tell us what's gone on and really listened to us when we had questions or explanations about anything.
