I was lucky enough to get Attorney Elizabeth Rich twice using the Avvo Legal Services Portal for consultations regarding a very complicated issue involving a small church in Wisconsin. Elizabeth was the first attorney I spoke to using Avvo, and I walked away from that phone call telling myself that was the best thing I ever did. She armed me with concrete next steps as well as a handful of different resources to help me find more information. I really had no idea where to turn at that point and Elizabeth pointed me in a direction which catapulted me forward. Almost a month later, using the Avvo Legal Services portal again, I was assigned Attorney Elizabeth. When I realized it was her I was absolutely delighted. Sure enough, she listened to how things had progressed and even told me she had reached out to lawyers in the area about my case to see if anyone was willing to help. It was just what I needed to feel hopeful again and feel a sense of direction. My husband and I hired Jonathan after having a dispute with a contractor. This was the first time either one of us had ever hired a lawyer. Jonathan was highly recommended by a colleague and we immediately understood why. I texted him requesting urgent help on a Thursday night as our issue was time sensitive. He responded that evening and by Friday morning, we had hired him. He was able to efficiently gather enough information to start addressing our urgent concern that Friday afternoon. Within the week, our situation was resolved to our satisfaction. His responsiveness and professionalism was outstanding. He helped set expectations and educate us. He was upfront about expected costs for our case and when we ended up exceeding that, he honored his initial quote. We are in the middle of an adoption and he told us to take the difference of the quote and actual cost of his services and apply it towards the adoption. It was not expected and he certainly was not obligated to do this but was greatly appreciated. If we ever need a lawyer again, we will not hesitate to reach out. My job was eliminated after 18 yrs. I was 1 of 3 over age 60 eliminated. Since there were new employees and less seniority employees , i felt i was let go unfairly with age discrimination. Jonathan fought for a new severance contract against the medical corporation and won. He achieved double the severance i was offered per "their protocol" that was unfair. Jonathan was kind, calm, explained what i didnt understand ( which was most legal terminology!) And worked with me as my own advocate. Advising and suggesting. Timely , tenacious ( did not let down his drive to succeed in our goal.) Smart , timely, direct. I consulted and hired him within 2 days of losing my job. Highly recommend Jonathan.

I have never had a lawyer up until recently and was always uneasy about having one. After meeting with her just once for 15 minutes, my feelings about having a lawyer quickly changed. She got straight to the point, and told me how things were going to be. I appreciated that because I don't like it when people sugar coat or try and tell you things they think you want to hear. Through every step of the process, she was always answering my questions, and in contact with me, whether it was her or her assistant. Sara was great at working with my husband's lawyer and both looking out for their clients in a collaborative way. She let me know what next steps were and made sure that financially and mentally I was prepared for what was ahead. I had some odd things with my divorce that in the end turned out positive for me even though I ended up paying. Because Sara had my best interests in mind my pay structure is time limited and set. We hired Thomas Murphy to oversee the purchase of our first home. He was very detail oriented in our initial consultation. He thoroughly reviewed all the documents related to our purchase both prior to hiring him through closing. I really appreciated the checklist he sent after our initial consultation. It included all the dates that we needed to be aware of and I referred back to it frequently.
During this stressful period, Thomas was quick to respond to all of our inquiries. Be it phone call or email he responded after office hours and on weekends which allowed us to make more informed decisions when we had tight deadlines. We counted on and trusted his advice and were very happy with the results.

Paul handled what was a messy divorce to start with. From start to finish, finances and child custody went smoothly considering the circumstances. Paul was straight forward but encouraging and knows his profession to a "T". We went to trial and witnesses were called. I have had Lee for an attorney for 20+ years. I have never met a more kind and understanding man. He has helped my family many times over the years but the one that stays with me is my divorce. My divorce was amicable, but non the less very hard on me. I left the courthouse in tears. Lee followed up by finding me at my folks house afterwards. He told me that he was there for me for whatever the future held for me legally and more importantly if I just needed to talk things through in the healing process. We're a nonprofit that uses subcontractors to teach workshops and provide storytelling coaching, and over the years, we've developed a good deal of intellectual property such as workshop templates and handouts. Our subcontractors also have access to things such as survey results and participant contact information, so we determined that we should have a subcontractor agreement in place. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Michael for a couple of years now not only on our own estate planning but a parent’s who has special planning needs due to being on disability. Attorney Kilkenny represented me in a landlord/tenant dispute. He was recommended by another attorney. At first I was a bit apprehensive about hiring such a young attorney but Attorney Kilkenny has proven that honesty, intelligence, and a strong work ethic can provide excellent results. I was originally planning to spend $4,000 on attorney fees but he was able to negotiate a deal with the landlord and reduce it to about $1,000. He's willing to do what is in the client's best interest rather than what is more profitable for himself. His hourly rate is also very low for the caliber of his skills. I've used attorneys at large law firms in the past and have found that they sometimes don't have enough time to dedicate to my case. Attorney Kilkenny, however, promptly responded to all my calls and emails and I can't recommend him enough.
