30 years in a All-Risk FD, high call volume, crime ridden city, you take a beating. Through the years I had used several “quality” WC attorneys, never felt represented fully, just passed along, the minimums. One could imagine my concerns with multiple career ending, complex injuries/disabilities that required significant investment in time, intelligence, gaining my trust, assuring that in the end it will all work out.
Brittany was referred to me, gained my trust with her candid, calming, straight ahead conversations. Always there whenever I needed reassurance, that alone was something I never had with any other attorney.
With multiple complex injuries/disabilities presented, she never faltered, was one step ahead always, I felt comfortable, fully represented. When an emergency presented, she had me on a plane, being treated within days. She cares very much, it becomes obvious quickly.
The relations she built with my adjuster, their attorneys, helped secure treatments faster for my numerous medical needs. She gets the respect from all sides, she is aggressive with a balance of fair, you never feel you have been short changed.

This office is an absolute joke. I made an appointment and dropped off all my new client paperwork in person the day of, only to be called approximately 1 hour prior to my appointment indicating they would be cancelling and rescheduling for 1 week later. Against my better judgement I waited the week, instead of seeking new counsel, only to be called 30 minutes prior to my appointment saying they would be conducting my 1 hour consultation over the phone. They were late calling me for the consultation and they had none of the paperwork I had dropped off at their office scanned in to the computer, and they informed me there was nobody in the office to see the paperwork. The one hour consultation lasted less than 30 minutes, during which I did most of the talking and Guneet Kaur informed me she would need more money to continue giving me service and, again, against my better judgement I filled out the requested paperwork authorizing her to charge my card. She proceeded to disappear for 3 days and did not respond to my calls or emails until I left a message over phone and email rescinding my authorization for her to charge my credit card and informing her I would NOT be retaining her as counsel. Collectively, her office is disorganized and unprofessional. She basically stole the $250 1 hour consultation fee, which she did not provide service in return for and wasted over a week of precious time, during which I should have been making progress on my case. I highly recommend you call, literally, anybody else.
Based on your petty and unprofessional response to my review, I wish to add "poor work ethic" to your list of undesirable qualities as an attorney.

As soon as I hired Michael, things started to move forward with my workers comp case. He found me two doctors, got me an MRI -first imagining done on me since accident! -, got me 24/7 caregiving, a walker and a wheelchair, and, above all, got my case moving forward until settlement. I originally hired the hack lawyers Beach Cities Legal. After six months of my claim being denied and complete lack of care I fired them and hired Mr Rott. Quickly my claim was accepted and I got the medical attention I needed.
I had Mr Rotts cell phone number and he always answered my calls. He attended most of my Dr appointments and was very active in my care.
I never saw the inside of a courtroom.
He brought me from being denied to a $2.5 million settlement.
I can’t recommend him and his staff enough.

I'm not here to rate the work of this buffet as defenders, but to say that they are very irresponsible people, anyone who is in the finance department, along with the supervisor. I have been waiting for a refund of $20,000, for more than 6 months... which was supposed to happen in 3-4 weeks. And every time I call, absolutely no one can help me, I have sent emails to support and there is no answer either, they tell me that on Monday, gosh, I'm calling on Monday. I think that if they are not responsible in one thing, they are not responsible in anything.

Akhavan and associates made my already difficult situation very easy to manage. From the first call until the check arrived in my hand this law firm was great. I ALWAYS received a call back promptly and I was always kept well informed in all the stages of my dispute. Kevin Gordon is the most incompetent attorney. He did not answer my calls or emails. He did not pay attention to details in forms when filing with the city and documents were returned, then he did not follow through, but tell me that he was busy with something else. Even the opposing party threatened him with reporting him to the bar. He drafted a settlement that did not protect me as his client. At the end, he just told me to get another attorney. Wow. It is unfortunate that his practicing.

Very unhappy with the outcome of my case. It was handled unprofessionally. And l fought with the attorney the whole way. I had to file with the BAR twice. I hired Legacy and was told will take it to trial. During mediation l was told to settle today or l could lose everything, because they were not going to represent me in court. Then the attorney settled the case against my will. I was forced to settle for considerably less than the original trust stated.

Karthik Krishnan was the second lawyer I consulted with about my case and I wish he had been the first. Upon consultation with the first lawyer, who mislead me, I made a decision that would impact my case negatively. I worked w/ Dennis Stout as my attorney, though I met w/ Jim first, as his firm came recommended to me by another attorney as "the gold standard" for their services. I could not have been more pleased with the work they did for me, and the results. Dennis and his associates had to follow many paper trails and deal with J&J attorneys that made this particular case a miasma of processes to figure out. I am SO glad I did not make a "class action" choice. Dennis was quite accessible and the lengthy process was always fully explained. It took time but was ultimately worth it.
