I'll try to make this very long story short: my husband got hurt on the job, not once, but twice! After the first injury, we went through his company's clinic for treatment and physical therapy, then came the paperwork riddled with all sorts of legal terminology that was beyond our understanding. In the end, the company's medical team found him to be clear to return to his full work duties. However, this was not the case. He was still in constant pain but we thought we had no other option so he returned to work. I won't reveal the name of the company but it's a very well known food manufacturer and my husband's position was very physically demanding. Fast forward six months later, he's injured again. This time we weren't going to just go with whatever his company's team said. A very good friend of mine who is a Family Law attorney referred us to the Almighty Jessica Rafipour. I contacted her by phone, told her the basics of the situation and she scheduled us to come to her office to meet in person. Anyone who has had to go through a LEGITIMATE worker's comp case knows the stress and frustration you feel with all the paperwork, doctor appointments, therapy appointments, phone calls, etc. I stress LEGITIMATE because there are fraudulent claims out there and those claims are the reason why people who are LEGITIMATELY injured have to go through so much to be compensated. Worker's comp is such a long, drawn out process that just drains you daily. Your patience is truly tested when going through it. I was referred to Ben in 2020 after I took it upon myself to file an industrial injury/workers compensation claim. The claim was initially denied, as is the case in the majority of claims filed, and a court date was set. It was then I called Bens office and he was able to successfully obtain a rather generous award after a short period of time. While working with him on my claim I came to realize that he possesses a wealth of knowledge about the workers compensation system and always had an answer to any questions or concerns I had.
Ben is still diligently working on getting me a lifetime award through another type of claim he filed on my behalf because of the accumulation of injuries I sustained over my 30 plus years with my employer.
Unlike the negative reviews that are out there, I can’t imagine nor did I ever experience Ben not following up with me after I contacted him or him giving any type of bad advice. I would not give any weight to what was written that is not positive about him. Some people are just unhappy no matter what transpires.
I actually referred a co-worker to him and Ben has handled his case successfully and with great results also.

Mr Abarr, had taken over my case. and it was not an easy one! When you don't know what your rights are, when you don't know what the laws say -it leaves you feeling powerless. Having an attorney's help gives you back that power. But finding one that's going to help is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I found a list of attorneys on a Google search and Mr Steven Harowitz was one of them. He answered the phone and I told him I had a few questions, could he help or direct me. I was expecting him to tell me that he thought I was someone else calling and that he didn't have any time. Instead, he was super kind and he answered my questions, specifically. His answers were well thought out. They made sense and they were helpful. Had I not called, I would have been ignorant of what my rights are and I wouldn't have known that what was bothering me happens to other people, regularly. Mr Harowitz even said to call back if I needed him again, which felt too good to be true. I called back and he was good for it.

It has been 3 years since Jeffrey Wolfert took my case, and I am Happy to Report that my case has come to a close. It's was a real bumpy ride, however Mr. Wolfert and his staff stood by me and gave me the support and attention my case needed. Mr. Wolfert was able to secure a substantial settlement on my behalf, I wanted a Compromise and Release settlement and that he got for me, with my up front Medical Set Aside, along with the annual payout for Medical Services, I will NEVER have to go through the Insurance Company EVER to receive the ongoing care I will need for the rest of my life. I am so happy I hired this attorney. I have a brain tumor and was in dire need of a great attorney. He did not disappoint me. I was denied once from the Social Security ministration. This attorney was very helpful and detailed in every step of the way and with my shock I received my Social Security administration award letter soon after hiring this attorney. Normally, I don't write reviews (as a busy working mom of a toddler..time is precious). However, my recent experience with attorney Andrew Shaffer was exceptional - above and beyond what I could have expected from an initial consultation. I recently had an initial consultation with Attorney Shaffer (following social distancing & mask of course) on behalf of my father. I was left thoroughly impressed and grateful for the following reasons:
1) Not once did he try to "market" or "sell" his service...which sometimes I get the sense when you contact some attorneys.
2 ) He was very patient - really took the time to review the facts related to my father's case and explained them to me in a way that I can understand.
3) At several points - he even frankly let me know that "given how close to the end the case is..it's not worth it for my father to pay him the fee. Instead, he simply offered me advice on how I can proceed with the case."
4) I can tell he knows his facts and is experienced with the complexity of the Worker's Compensation laws as well as which doctors would be most favorable in case of QME, etc.
Overall, unlike some other consultations I had with other attorneys (which typically took maybe ~15-20 min tops), Andrew spent almost an hour simply just providing me advice on how I can best proceed with the case on my own, if I so choose.
I'm a firm believer that actions speaks louder than words. Many individuals, attorneys included, can promise you a lot of things. However, at the end of the day, I think it's what they actually do, especially when they're not obligated to, that really says a lot about them.
For anyone who is unfortunate to suffer a work related injury, I really highly recommend that you contact Attorney Andrew Shaffer first. I only wished I had knew to do that at the very on-set. Schedule an initial consultaiton and see for yourself, don't just take my word.
In these crazy pandemic times, it's really comforting to know there are still people out there who are so willing to simply provide help.

I met David Masters 3 years ago, while I was working for a WC Defense Attorney's firm in Southern California. Ironically, he came to our office for a deposition, and we hit it off professionally from there on.
Recently, I was injured with an ex employer, and the first person I thought of to call was David. Being on this side of the table was a whole new experience for me, after working for the "enemy", so to speak. I called David and had explained to him my situation and how, after talking to people about the employer where I got injured, people were saying I was a fool for trying to go after them for medical treatment, etc. My situation happened in California, however, I had moved out of California after, and so my contact with David has been via telephone or when I am flown to California as needed by him or the defense attorney, as happened with my latest deposition.
Well, I have been a basket case, and David, of course, has been my rock. I told him I was scared and didn't know what to do and how I was afraid of my ex employer because of how big of a company they are, and he told me about the "David & Goliath" story from the bible. He said "David went up against Goliath, and I'll be there for you and with you". Not once has David let me down. I've called him having a nervous breakdown, stressed out beyond belief, crying, frustrated, and many other emotional moments.
David has been blessed with patience beyond belief, he's extremely intelligent, compassionate, and has this incredibly amazing passion for his clients. I met with him this month, and if there were words to describe the look of passion on his face when he started talking about how much fight he puts into each and every one of his cases, this review would probably be a lot longer than 4k words. I've met many lawyers on different ends of the legal spectrum, and David Masters is truly an amazing man. Personally, I find him to be more of an angel sent by God who looks out for the "little guys" (those who are injured), and does it with all of his heart. He's truly heartfelt and sincere, and genuine, and not only goes to work each day, but goes to work with a heart filled with compassion and ready to take on the world... one client at a time.
I could sit here and type every adjective describing David, however, the best advice I can give anyone is that if you're in need of a Worker's Comp Attorney, and you're in Southern California, the best one, by every definition, would be David Masters. He's dependable, extremely professional, reliable, and again sincere and compassionate. Don't let anyone tell you any different... David Masters is definitely the best choice out there for injured applicants, when it comes to Worker's Comp.
