Initially, I started handling my worker's compensation case myself. Although I have almost two decades of case management in my professional background, this case was too close and personal and quite frankly, too exhausting to handle on my own. After loads of legal paperwork, as well as, the frustration of not receiving the appropriate rehabilitative care, I gave up trying to handle the case myself.
I found Susan in an online Internet search. What made me want to hire her was that she indicated she was ethical, had many years of experience in Worker's Compensation cases and has served as a Pro-tem Judge for Worker's Compensation cases. As soon as Susan took over my case, she proved to be the lighthouse in the storm. Her professionalism, direction and calm demeanor allowed me to trust and let go of handling the case and concentrate on getting better. She also fought for all the benefits I was entitled to receive.
My case recently settled, thanks to Susan. Looking back in hind-sight, I realize there were so many legal aspects to handling timelines and tons of paperwork in a Worker's Compensation case, that it really puts an injured worker at a disadvantage, when they are already at a disadvantage after being injured. The help of a caring, professional attorney on my side made a world of difference in my case. I now know why the Worker's Compensation claims adjuster, initially assigned to my case, didn't want me to get an attorney when I mentioned that I was seeking one out.

George Roland is by far, the absolute best lawyer that I have ever dealt with! I was referred to him by my ex and he highly recommended him to me after I had another attorney, that by the way was the worst lawyer I had to assist me. During my case, my father passed away and he rapidly followed thru to get an advance for me, and I was able to pay for the burial!! I care about him like family!!

I have a small company (35 employees) and had a claim and we submitted it to our work comp carrier only to be told our coverage was no longer in force. The next thing we knew we had investigators from the Div of Industrial Relations all over us and some agency, uninsured fund, joined us and liened all my equipment and my home. Mr. Miller we after our insurance company and proved we had insurance and they had to handle the claim and Mr. Miller even got back most of the money we paid him from the insurance company.

I am not a type that would write a note and sneak in the suggestion box, let alone spending time and writing a review, but I'd like to rave about a firm that helped me stand tall and get my quality of life back. KCNS Law Group, LLP did an outstanding job helping me with my workers compensation case. But foremost hear my story first. 15 years ago, I was a dedicated elementary school cafeteria worker. I don’t have children of my own and my love for kids gave me the strength to take on this heavy responsibility and prepare meal every day for the little ones. After 11 years of service, one day, the misfortune found its way and kneel in the front of my food chamber. Suddenly, I lost my balance and slipped. In the moment of time, I pictured the children and ruining their lunch and naturally, did not let go of the steaming oversize pan. I held on and kept everything in the casserole, however, the damage was already done. 3rd degree burn on both arms, ripped ligaments and dislocated wrists. The pain was killing me but couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. After all I saved the lunch! Yeah, you guessed it right. I was badly injured. Heavy meds and pain killers became candies to me. Couldn’t do much on my own. Depression and emotional stress was chocking me. It didn’t take much to realize that my loyalty to the school was betrayed. Medical follow-ups started to fade, physical therapy took 5 to 6 attempts to get authorization for. Eventually, I decided to trust my destiny to the hands of our legal system. The attorney and I met once a month, then every 3 months. I was assured that the wheels are rolling. 5 years went by like a blink of an eye. Nothing happened. One day, I received a call from a stranger who claimed was taking over my case. We met, same assurance and the 5th year, like an invaluable baseball card that nobody wanted, I was traded to another attorney. I guess the 5th year was a mark. I was anticipating another exchange on the 5th year but suddenly we were going to arbitration. Is luck finally on my side? Few court appearances, and court appointed experts to evaluate me who declared me a disable person. Few month later, I become aware that the firm was relocating. Well, I guess switching offices was better than being traded. The attorney who was handling my case told me that her assistant will be arranging my next court appearance and will be representing me from there on. She was young, ambitious and a blessing. Talia kept me updated every week as to what was going on. She went to court handled all hearings and when it came time to fight. Not only she fought for me but won on all accounts. Come to realize that this 15 years added some numbers to my age and now that I qualified for Medical, Medicare and Social Security assistance, after reaching a settlement, my benefits could be in jeopardy. Talia flew some experts to LA who specialized in the Trust business. We met, we talked and we strategized. The case was settled within months. I can now have surgery and get on with my life. I have a lifelong pension and receive by weekly payments forever. I have an indefinite medical coverage for my injuries. It has been my pleasure to work with Talia. I am a nurse who was injured on the job. My injury caused systemic and permanent damages that are catastrophic and have left me 100% permanently disabled. I am unable to return to the workforce in any capacity or even live my former normal life. Every day (& night) is a struggle for me. I became a nurse to help people and to provide for my family and here I am, not being able to do either, or even help myself.
I have never been involved in a worker's compensation claim prior to this injury and I knew nothing about worker's compensation law. After my injury, I did not hire an attorney for some time. Mr. Alves responded to Evvo questions I have inquired about WC case. Thru Evvo posting, I was able to email him and ask if I can send him WC case documents and concurrent DFEH related labor law cases.
I posted my email address so that he can contact me back via email. I sent inordinate amout of case documents via email and also thru Google drop down share drive he was kind to sent to me.
He spent reviewing all those documents over both days of Saturday and Sunday weekend and got back to me via email on Sunday afternoon that he will be taking my labor law case. I asked him to place on hold reviewin WC case for now.
He was very understanding of my urgency needs and was willing to take his valuable weekend rest time in reviewing my cases over the weekend. He was also kind to let me know ahead he will be calling me for contract paperwork Monday next day.
Very prompt, efficient, effective, thorough, responsive, professional, insightful of knowing my needs. Also very supportive and friendly. Thank you so much thus far.

in 1996 I was referred to Ms. Brown by several medically retired L.E. Officers. The "Defense" can hire a team of lawyers, claim administrators, private investigators and so-called medical experts. You, the injured person, can only count of one person. I was injured at work and needed surgery. I was handling my case myself up to the point that my surgery failed and my doctor was saying that I was fine and could go back to work even though I was not fine.
