After dealing with many other law firms that were extremely subpar, would never return calls, or could never directly speak to an attorney, I found Alex. Alex is absolutely one of the best worker's comp attorneys, and people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.
My specific case was related to a right foot injury where I had multiple surgeries, and reconstructive work performed.
Extremely professional, would always either answer direct calls, or return them almost immediately. I needed a lawyer to represent me in a case of a frivolous CPO brought against me. I had already engaged the representation of one of the "hot shot" lawyers on a well known firm who after charging me double the normal rate, was pressuring me to accept the CPO. I met with Matt after wc insurance company would not make a decision regarding claim. I made my decision to retain him within 10 minutes after meeting him. Mr. Brody was my third work/comp attorney. I don't recall who recommended him to me, but I'm sure glad they did. The pain of my injury was severe for many years and long term pain leads to a whole cascade of other medical issues. The first two attorneys were essentially worthless, letting me flounder for years, never following up on things, not returning my calls, not letting me know what was going on, what my options were, not making sure I was getting the proper medical treatment, not even listening to me. Mr. Brody was and is the opposite of all of that. By the time we met my case was a long, large, complicated mess. Most days I could barely even think and my mother, then in her 80s, did most of the driving. He listened to me and he explains things patiently, even if he has to do it over and over, which he had to because of my pain level, all the meds I was on and even because I was just worn out and depressed. I also lucked into an excellent doctor, after seeing many who didn't even believe I was in pain, and between the two of them they fought for me. It was over 11 years before my evil work/comp company finally relented and allowed me to get an intrathecal pump for the pain and I know Mr. Brody was a huge part of that. After the pain was at a livable, but not workable, level (meaning I still can't work,) I just wanted to be done with it and settle. I was physically and emotionally exhausted. He wouldn't let me. He kept saying, "I think we can get more money." He wasn't saying this because he wanted more money, he was saying that because he knew better than I did that I would need it. Six and a half more years later, the settlement amount was definitely more, and I'm so glad he wouldn't let me quit because even with the three times what I was willing to settle for, I now see it still wasn't enough. My case was over 17 years long before we settled. So thank God he fought some more. Over five years later I had some glitch with Social Security and they wanted numbers and dates that I just didn't have and couldn't remember. I called Mr. Brody's office, hoping he hadn't retired, for the info. I left a message and he returned my call less than 24 hours later. I faxed him some info from Social Security and just hours after that he calls me back with the information I needed. If you have a work related injury, call this man. You can't do any better. He will fight for you and he truly cares, as well.

My case has been a real mind twister of doctors attorney's and very challenging medical problems related to my injury after fall thru an opening on a new constructed office building here in San Diego caused from a poor call, get back to work after a rainy morning on slippery decking. Gerald has stayed weekend going over the scads of documents in preparation of this case. Prior to Gerald taking over I spent many years of uncertainty. After a life threatening injury accident, I very nearly tried to settle with the driver's insurance company on my own. What a mistake that would've been, but the lawyers I'd interviewed were more like car salesmen than legal advocates. Soon after I started making a tragic series of uninformed decisions, I had the good fortune to meet Jason. I must have seemed overly cautious, but he stuck with me, taking time to explain everything. His larger than life personality is more than perfectly genuine, it's perfectly suited to his profession.
At every turn, Jason clearly knew his stuff, from legal nooks and crannies to the maelstrom of hospital/doctor/fire dept billing depts, and insurance adjusters (one after another). Jason is a master communicator, forthright, practical, and shrewd.
To find a trusted lawyer is even more important than finding a trusted mechanic. The trauma, stress and uncertainty I'd been dealing with steadily faded and I was able to get back to my life! Even as we continued to wait on the other side, Jason would phone me with status updates and include me in his thought process.
Jason works incredibly hard. I was a passenger in a car that was involved in a accident. The driver ran over a center-divide and took out a couple of street signs, the car wasn't damaged very bad. After arguing with the drivers insurance company for 8 months, they offered me $1000 dollars, at this point I was exhausted and in pain and ready to settle, then I spoke to Mr. Fogy. Mr. Fogy got me on the road to recovery. I went to physical therapy for about six months, while my case was going through the proper channels and in the end, I received a check for $32,860.00, TAX FREE!!!!!!!!
Currently I have a workman's compensation case, the defendants attorney offered me like $1,500. Initially, I started handling my worker's compensation case myself. Although I have almost two decades of case management in my professional background, this case was too close and personal and quite frankly, too exhausting to handle on my own. After loads of legal paperwork, as well as, the frustration of not receiving the appropriate rehabilitative care, I gave up trying to handle the case myself.
I found Susan in an online Internet search. What made me want to hire her was that she indicated she was ethical, had many years of experience in Worker's Compensation cases and has served as a Pro-tem Judge for Worker's Compensation cases. As soon as Susan took over my case, she proved to be the lighthouse in the storm. Her professionalism, direction and calm demeanor allowed me to trust and let go of handling the case and concentrate on getting better. She also fought for all the benefits I was entitled to receive.
My case recently settled, thanks to Susan. Looking back in hind-sight, I realize there were so many legal aspects to handling timelines and tons of paperwork in a Worker's Compensation case, that it really puts an injured worker at a disadvantage, when they are already at a disadvantage after being injured. The help of a caring, professional attorney on my side made a world of difference in my case. George Roland is by far, the absolute best lawyer that I have ever dealt with! I was in an accident and was referred to this law firm by a family member who had a good experience with this office. I can happily say the same. Any time I had a question or needed medical advice or help, they answered promptly and made sure I was taken care of. For me, it was more about getting my injuries fixed and they provided excellent physicians. If there was one I didn’t like, they immediately switched them out until I was happy (only took 1x for that). Overall, David and his team were able to also advocate and get the maximum monetary value for me, as well, which was secondary to what I truly wanted, but a very good surprise.
