I am a former police officer who was injured during a defensive training class in which ultimately resulted in a career ending back surgery. I applied for disability retirement through the city that I worked for and I was advised to seek legal council. When I met with Mr. Sapourn he was very honest with me as he explained that he had never been hired for a case such as mine. He assured me that he would work hard and do his homework on this case but couldn't guarantee the outcome. During the process Mr. Sapourn was very informative and would answer any questions or concerns that I may have had. He was always on time and prepared for every meeting that we had with the city. We were faced with two legal disputes with contractors who did very shoddy work at our home and refused to fix their mistakes. Mr. Denver filed one lawsuit in Ocean County Special Civil Part and another in Monmouth County Superior Court, Law Division. He was able to successfully resolve both matters extremely quickly, without protracted litigation, and obtained a settlement which allowed us to fix the shoddy work.

Bill worked well beyond the call of duty to pursue my medical insurance co, who simply needed to perform their obligation of approving a medication, even rejecting it. was fine to expedite the process, and Bill got them to do that through his tireless work. I would have faced a severely depleted financial retirement future had it not been for Mr. Denver's patient persistence in pursuit of Insurance coverage related to the excavation and remediation required as a result of oil seepage from an abandoned oil tank discovered in the process of my selling the house in which I had lived for 40 years, The soil contamination was found to be deep and close to the house foundation, requiring multiple installations of steel foundation supports. With the cost of the remediation building close to 6 figures, and the Insurance Company I had for over 40 years denying my initial Homeowners policy claim, I had the good fortune to have a friend recommend retaining Dr. Denver at the Denver Law Firm. Mr. Denver studied survey maps, engineer's and soil boring reports, and voluminous material and documents related to the Environment Company's work. He worked with me to gather as much documentation as I could find related to past insurance policies even though in the anticipation of moving, I had shredded ancient records. He pursued the Insurance Company to conduct a policy search, established sufficient proof of coverage going back many years, and through negotiations and persistence, and without litigation which could have taken years, successfully obtained for me a significant contribution from the Insurance company toward the cost of the remediation. Robert Burford is amazing! I had a business issue and my lawyer from most respected law firms in Houston was handling it. This dragged for months and months: tons of aggravation, even sleepless nights, and over $100K in legal bills. A friend recommended to contact Mr. Burford. First he requested to send him all paperwork. After a week, Robert met with me and my partner on the morning before Christmas. His whole office was empty. Kienan was my attorney when I came forward about the sexual abuse that I experienced in graduate school. The perpetrator was a faculty member at a nationally acclaimed university who was also teaching at an elite boarding school. Kienan began working with me at the beginning of the #metoo movement, when the process of exposing abusers felt like largely uncharted territory. Ken and Terry Venneberg went up against one of the most formidable Corporations in the world, Morgan Stanley. No other attorney firms had the "guts" to take them on. It was a good case, but "the good 'ol boys" were not going to budge no matter how much it cost them. Ken and Terry stuck it out, kept me informed, were honest and very knowledgeable. We agreed upon a settlement one week before the trial began because Morgan Stanley, in all their arrogance, forgot to get a nondisclosure and that was what I really wanted. After moving from Michigan to Wisconsin in late 2019, one of my top priorities was to revisit my Estate Planning Documents that were completed in Michigan with my family attorney there. My goal was to ensure that my documents complied with Wisconsin law.
This project was a special priority for me since my wife had passed away in March of 2019, and my intent was to locate a competent attorney who specialized in Estate Planning. So I started making telephone calls to numerous attorneys in this area listed in the Yellow Pages. I had many questions for them. Finally, I found the Frozena Law Firm. After asking the receptionist several questions, I made an appointment.
After my first appointment and having a very informative and productive meeting with Angela Frozena, who was very congenial and very knowledgeable. She briefed me regarding what additional information I must provide her, so we setup a future appointment for after I returned from vacation in Europe in three weeks.
Upon returning from Europe, I returned to Frozena Law Firm for my second appointment. At this appointment, Angela had already received the documents from my former attorney in Michigan, and had the draft of my new estate plan prepared, and sent the documents via encrypted email to my home in Racine. After reviewing the draft documents, I returned them to the firm for finalization.
At my final appointment, everything was organized and Angela had already made arrangements for the witnesses to be present. Everything went so smoothly, and I was impressed with Angela's knowledge, efficiency, sincerity and her positive attitude. Her professionalism is second to none. And along the way, Angela and I communicated via telephone and email.

I chair the board of a large condo building in Portland that hired Tony to reach attractive settlements in two separate building issues. I recommend him for his willingness to help legal committees avoid the intra-building anger that accompanies such unfortunate events and his readiness to settle as soon as attractive terms can be achieved.
The first complaint we had was for a piece of building equipment. We had initially retained a different lawyer but quickly became concerned that her desire to litigate until all appeals were exhausted wasn't in keeping with the low-drama solution our owners wanted. After switching, Tony negotiated a settlement that avoided court by tying any future payments to actual future repairs instead of insisting on an upfront check.
Our second issue was much larger in both dollars and breadth but the board wanted to go with an attorney that would guide the case to a good compromise and try to avoid spiraling into never ending appeals. I chair the Board of Directors at the Encore (177 unit high-rise condo in Portland, OR). The Encore condo owners association entered into an engagement agreement with Tony Rafel in August 2012 for general counsel and other legal services following turnover of condo association responsibility from the developer to owners.
Since that time Mr. Rafel has provided very effective legal service to the Encore on a wide range of important matters, including negotiating successful agreements on building defect, mechanical and plumbing system problems, as well as advising and supporting the Board on contracts, resolutions and policy and rules matters.
As volunteer Board members, we appreciate Tony's solid knowledge and experience in condo association law and especially defect claims. He is able to communicate complex legal and technical issues in a way that homeowners can understand and take appropriate action through the condo owners association and the Board.
Tony is very responsive to telephone and email inquiries and readily available to meet with the Board or property management staff, often during evening meetings. I had an IRA investment that had gone bad due to the neglect of the manager of the hedge fund in which the IRA was invested. Tony met with me, and quickly got up to speed on the 6" stack of documents supporting my complex situation. Since the hedge fund was located in Oregon, and I live in Washington state, it was imperative that my attorney be licensed in both states, which Tony is. Thanks to his comprehensive grasp of the situation, he wrote a compelling letter to the hedge fund manager on my behalf. Fortunately, we did not have to resort to filing a lawsuit, but Tony instead was able to negotiate an excellent settlement. The settlement took several months to negotiate, but Tony kept after it, and made sure it didn't languish. After the settlement agreement was signed, he kept on top of the payment schedule, and even had to press for payment in a couple of instances. At this point, all but the final payment have been received, and I fully expect to receive that final one as well! Throughout the process, Tony responded quickly to my emails, and was very professional. He provided sound advice, and was a firm negotiator on my behalf. He was a delight to work with, and I highly recommend him!

Talbot refused to take my case when Ben was under him. Ben saw my case and called me 3 days later and he took my case and won. I was a scared 21 year old and he made me feel okay with the whole process. He told me from day 1 that the insurance had 3 years before court and it would take them almost 3 years to agree to settle.
